Abba, Father, Lord God, such simple and direct advice and wisdom in today's readings for we do need to guard and nurture Your Holy Spirit that lives within me and the best way to do this is with the humble hears, heart and eyes of a child. For when one truly decides to walk in Your light through Jesus Christ, I believe he or she must let go of the ways under the sun, realizing that under the sun only Jesus came from above and was able to walk in obedience, for while You planted the need know and love You in our hearts, by the nature of Adam we cannot walk in Your light in the ways under the sun. So I take heed of the words of the Psalmist. 'Blessed is the man who walks not in the counsel of the wicked, nor stands in the way of sinners, nor sits in the seat of scoffers; but his delight is in the law of the LORD, and on his law he meditates day and night. He is like a tree planted by streams of water, that yields its fruit in its season, and its leaf does not wither. In all that he does, he prospers.' And of all I have read and heard, I feel the image of Jesus is hidden in these words of His that I meditate on most. "You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, and with all your soul, and with all your mind. This is the great and first commandment. And a second is like it, You shall love your neighbor as yourself. On these two commandments depend all the law and the prophets." In the name of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit, Amen.
