When did God’s love for you begin? When He began to be God. When did He begin to be God? Never, for He has always been without beginning and without end, and so He has always loved you from eternity.

Words of Jesus

When they had finished breakfast, Jesus said to Simon Peter, "Simon, son of John, do you love me more than these?" He said to him, "Yes, Lord; you know that I love you." He said to him, "Feed my lambs." A second time he said to him, "Simon, son of John, do you love me?" He said to him, "Yes, Lord; you know that I love you." He said to him, "Tend my sheep." He said to him the third time, "Simon, son of John, do you love me?" Peter was grieved because he said to him the third time, "Do you love me?" And he said to him, "Lord, you know everything; you know that I love you." Jesus said to him, "Feed my sheep. Truly, truly, I say to you, when you were young, you girded yourself and walked where you would; but when you are old, you will stretch out your hands, and another will gird you and carry you where you do not wish to go." (This he said to show by what death he was to glorify God.) And after this he said to him, "Follow me."

When did God's love for you begin? When He began to be God. When did He begin to be God? Never, for He has always been without beginning and without end, and so He has always loved you from eternity.

— St. Francis de Sales

Abba, Father, Lord God, grateful for yesterday and thankful for today in this moment is where I wish I could stay. For in this moment that separates past from future, last from next, what has been from what will be I feel closest to You. In this moment which is up to me to create and I am free to create anywhere and anytime is also where I am as far as the east is from the west from what I have done wrong or failed to do right for in this moment You remove me from my transgressions and free me to be the me You intended me to be. And it is in this moment in the Spirit, through Jesus that I get to feel You at work within me; and in this moment with You through Jesus in the Spirit is where I must practice and prepare myself, for it is here with You in the moment that I can see the feeling of less of me and more of You, and can learn how to get out of Your way. This moment that separates yesterday from today, past from next, east from west, also separates what I can be from what I will be; the key to this moment is spending it with and open to You focused on what I am, free of self, for I never leave the way I entered, never know what I do not know, and never been what I can and will be in You through Jesus present in the Spirit within me. Thank You Jesus! In the name of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit, Amen.
