They will receive the greater condemnation." And he sat down opposite the treasury, and watched the multitude putting money into the treasury. Many rich people put in large sums. And a poor widow came, and put in two copper coins, which make a penny. Abba, Father, Lord God, aware of all my blessings, conscious of Your presence in all things I give thanks always, even when I feel weakened and humbled by the realization of my failing and corrupt nature. Convicted by the words of St. Paul and empathetic to the song of the Psalmist I do seek to be 'urgent in season and out of season' and find 'unfailing patience in Your teachings', never looking or accepting teachings that 'suit my own likings,' that may cause me to 'turn away from listening to the truth and wander into myths'; but to find in this time with You each day what I need to 'always be steady, endure suffering, and do the work' You call me to do and in fulfilling Your will. That when You call me home, and until then each night when I close my eyes, I might be able to say 'I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith.' I pray that 'My mouth be filled always with thy praise and with Thy glory all the day' and that You 'do not cast me off in the time of old age; nor forsake me on days when my strength is spent' for in faith I hope 'continually', and will praise Thee even from the depths of my realization 'more and more' each day. In the name of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit, Amen.
