You cannot allow two masters to rule your life. Either you will disregard one and love the other; or else cling to one and despise the other. You cannot serve God and remain enslaved to the gods of this world.

Lord God, Abba Father, thankful and humbly I lift up my eyes and ears to You, seeking Your will, always looking, always listening. For the more I feel at home in and with You, I the more I feel lost and out of place under the sun. Help me find and serve Your will and purpose. Guide me, move me, and motivate me to that end. Always preparing, always ready to act immediate, avoiding putting off that which You call me to do. Always conscious enough in the moment to do for others, that which I would want them to do to me. For in those conscious moments with You do I find the oneness to feel, act and do under the sun, that which I feel when with You. In the name of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit, Amen.

Oh how precious time is! Blessed are those who know how to make good use of it. Who can assure us that we will be alive tomorrow? Let us listen to the voice of our conscience, to the voice of the royal prophet: "Today if you hear God’s voice, harden not your heart." Queen Esther, seized with mortal anguish, had recourse to the Lord. She lay prostrate upon the ground, together with her handmaids, from morning until evening, and said: "God of Abraham, God of Isaac, and God of Jacob, blessed are you. Help me, who am alone and have no help but you, for I am taking my life in my hand. As a child I used to hear from the books of my forefathers that you, O Lord, always free those who are pleasing to you. Now help me, who am alone and have no one but you, O Lord, my God. "And now, come to help me, an orphan. Put in my mouth persuasive words in the presence of the lion and turn his heart to hatred for our enemy, so that he and those who are in league with him may perish. Save us from the hand of our enemies; turn our mourning into gladness and our sorrows into wholeness.
