Enter therefore through the narrow gate; for wide is the path, and broad is the way that leads to destruction, and many go that way. But narrow is the gate and the path which leads to life, and there are few that find it.

The Words of Jesus of Nazareth by Lee Cantelon

The Call

You have not chosen me. I have chosen you, and appointed you to produce good fruit from the lives that you live, fruit that will last.

I add this to this story: many are called – into the kingdom – but few are chosen. The time has come. The kingdom of God is near at hand. I have called you from the world’s way of living. Repent, put on the garments of salvation, and believe this good news.

No one can come to me unless the Father, who has sent me, draws him; and I will raise up that person on the last day. All of you whom the Father has given me will come to me: and whoever comes to me, I will never refuse.

Enter therefore through the narrow gate; for wide is the path, and broad is the way that leads to destruction, and many go that way. But narrow is the gate and the path which leads to life, and there are few that find it. Make every effort to go through the gate that leads to life. One day, many will want to exchange their way for the right way, and find it to be too late.

Lord God, Abba Father, thankful and humble, humble knowing very well that whatever I do I seek to do for You, and whatever I accomplish, I do so by Your grace and mercy. For I know I am nothing and can do nothing without in Jesus through the Spirit who is alive in me. And for this knowledge I am thankful and aware of every blessing for which I am also thankful. This is why I am always asking and always praying that in my Richardness I serve You first in Jesus through the Spirit so in me sooner or later those that look see the fruit of the Spirit above the Richardness under the sun. In the name of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit, Amen.

No, my dear children, we need never fear that the Mass hinders us in the fulfillment of our temporal affairs; it is altogether the other way around. We may be sure that all will go better and that even our business will succeed better than if we have the misfortune not to assist at Mass.

— St. John Vianney

1 Samuel 3:3-10, 19

9  Therefore Eli said to Samuel, "Go, lie down; and if he calls you, you shall say, `Speak, LORD, for thy servant hears.’" So Samuel went and lay down in his place.
Psalm 40:2, 4, 7-10

2  He drew me up from the desolate pit, out of the miry bog, and set my feet upon a rock, making my steps secure.  4  Blessed is the man who makes the LORD his trust, who does not turn to the proud, to those who go astray after false gods!  8  I delight to do thy will, O my God; thy law is within my heart." 10  I have not hid thy saving help within my heart, I have spoken of thy faithfulness and thy salvation; I have not concealed thy steadfast love and thy faithfulness from the great congregation.
1 Corinthians 6:13-15, 17-20

17  But he who is united to the Lord becomes one spirit with him.  18  Shun immorality. Every other sin which a man commits is outside the body; but the immoral man sins against his own body.  19  Do you not know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit within you, which you have from God? You are not your own;  20  you were bought with a price. So glorify God in your body.
John 1:35-42

35  The next day again John was standing with two of his disciples;  36  and he looked at Jesus as he walked, and said, "Behold, the Lamb of God!"  37  The two disciples heard him say this, and they followed Jesus.  38  Jesus turned, and saw them following, and said to them, "What do you seek?" And they said to him, "Rabbi" (which means Teacher), "where are you staying?"  39  He said to them, "Come and see." They came and saw where he was staying; and they stayed with him that day, for it was about the tenth hour.  40  One of the two who heard John speak, and followed him, was Andrew, Simon Peter’s brother.  41  He first found his brother Simon, and said to him, "We have found the Messiah" (which means Christ).  42  He brought him to Jesus. Jesus looked at him, and said, "So you are Simon the son of John? You shall be called Cephas" (which means Peter).

Audio books I am listening to and other books or readings I am reading:

When Heaven Invades Earth Unabridged By Bill Johnson Narrated by Tim Lundeen – When Heaven Invades Earth is a powerful statement and testimony on the Kingdom of God. Theologically sound, well supported, and extremely well argued, this message provides a carefully constructed biblical foundation for the average Christian to live and walk in the miraculous power of God. Not only is the supernatural possible, it is our commission. The Great Commission that Christ gave the Church challenges us and makes us responsible to rise up to this supreme supernatural calling. Johnson explains how we are called to dominion in the earth through the divine rule of God.
