The Importance of Hell
Core Christianity Article 05 Feb 18

There are plenty of people today who don’t believe in the Bible’s teaching on everlasting punishment, even those who do find it an unreal and a remote concept.

In 2003 a research group discovered 64% of Americans expect to go to heaven when they die, but less than 1% think they might go to hell. Not only are there plenty of people today who don’t believe in the Bible’s teaching on everlasting punishment, even those who do find it an unreal and a remote concept. Nevertheless, it is a very important part of the Christian faith, for several reasons.

Today’s prayer
Dear Lord God, Abba Father, Jesus, today I contemplate and meditate on all You did for me (us). With caution I remind myself I could never fully know what You suffered for me (us). Not just the betrayal, loneliness, physical beating and scourging and crucifixiones, but the hell and separation from God the Abba Father, all for me (us). For when I try, I have to stop, realizing I could never comprehend fully what you experienced for me (us). It’s to much, I realize how much easier it is to sin, than to pay and atone for them. And just know how weak I am (we are). All I can do is fight to focus on You, praying without ceasing for forgiveness and reconcile myself to You. For when I do, I feel whole and forgiven, and one with You. I can never thank You enough, so instead I must just die to myself and commit myself to following You. O Jesus, I love You, I’m sorry, forgive me, and thank You. Amen
