Walking with Jesus

OneWalk: Under the Sun, with the Son

Today’s Thought, Bible Verse & Reading, Devotion, Worship Song and Prayer

A thought…
Keeping your eye on the prize and staying balanced isn’t easy. Jesus clearly tells us what it will take. The cost is up to us, we set it. And while are all sinners. Ours sins impact our loved ones differently and some indefinitely. This impacts the cost exponentially. Forgiveness can become conditional. But try not to make the same mistake twice, when it comes to Jesus. Listen and obey.

A verse…

"If you want to be my disciple, you must, by comparison, hate everyone else-your father and mother, wife and children, brothers and sisters-yes, even your own life. Otherwise, you cannot be my disciple.
Luke 14:26 NLT

A reading…
Luke 14:25-35

The Cost of Being a Disciple

"But don’t begin until you count the cost. For who would begin construction of a building without first calculating the cost to see if there is enough money to finish it?
Luke 14:28 NLT

So you cannot become my disciple without giving up everything you own.
Luke 14:33 NLT

A devotion…
The Far-Reaching Rivers of Life
My Utmost for His Highest

He who believes in Me…out of his heart will flow rivers of living water.
John 7:38

A river reaches places which its source never knows. And Jesus said that, if we have received His fullness, “rivers of living water” will flow out of us, reaching in blessing even “to the end of the earth” (Acts 1:8) regardless of how small the visible effects of our lives may appear to be. We have nothing to do with the outflow— “This is the work of God, that you believe…” (John 6:29). God rarely allows a person to see how great a blessing he is to others…

A prayer…
Dear Lord God, Abba Father, Jesus my Savior, only in and with You do I find peace and rest. Not the I am worthy. Nor do I think myself to have obtained any level of righteousness. But only by Your mercy and grace. So much I don’t understand. I can only hope that You would use me to reach mine and others for Your glory. And in Your name. And humbly I ask that You help me find away to separate me from my past sins and mistakes. As far as the east is from the west, for I feel lost and a lone at the divide between east and west; north and south, yesterday and today. But most of all bless and protect mine. Free them from any memories of the hurt and pain I have caused and the carelessness in which I managed Your gifts and blessings. Amen
