Gospel John 5:31-47
Jesus said to the Jews:
“If I testify on my own behalf, my testimony is not true.
But there is another who testifies on my behalf,
and I know that the testimony he gives on my behalf is true.
You sent emissaries to John, and he testified to the truth.
I do not accept human testimony,
but I say this so that you may be saved.
He was a burning and shining lamp,
and for a while you were content to rejoice in his light.
But I have testimony greater than John’s.
The works that the Father gave me to accomplish,
these works that I perform testify on my behalf
that the Father has sent me.
Moreover, the Father who sent me has testified on my behalf.
But you have never heard his voice nor seen his form,
and you do not have his word remaining in you,
because you do not believe in the one whom he has sent.
You search the Scriptures,

Dear God, my Abba Father, Lord Jesus my Savior, thank You for Your Word. Your inspired devotions and praise and worship music that I surround myself with to keep my focus on You. For each blessing and each of mine. Hear my prayers for them and all the others You place on my mind and in my heart each day.
For one who truly believes in You can easily see that like the Israelites in todays reading, we are a stiffed nicked people. Abandoning our faith and morality for the lies of this world. Help us now God, awaken us to our self absorbed ways. Leads us back home to You. Create in us hearts the seek Your face above all. Minds that seek truth, and can discern all that is being thrown at us. And who is throwing it. Separating Your ways from our ways. Your truth from our rationalized version of the truth, that we create to fit our selfish desires. Revive our hearts now God.
O my Jesus, have mercy on us. Forgive us our sins. Save us from the fires of hell. Take all souls into heaven, especially, those most in need of thy mercy.
