Reading I Romans 4:13, 16-18
Brothers and sisters:
It was not through the law
that the promise was made to Abraham and his descendants
that he would inherit the world,
but through the righteousness that comes from faith.
For this reason, it depends on faith,
so that it may be a gift,
and the promise may be guaranteed to all his descendants,
not to those who only adhere to the law
but to those who follow the faith of Abraham,
who is the father of all of us, as it is written,
I have made you father of many nations.
He is our father in the sight of God,
in whom he believed, who gives life to the dead
and calls into being what does not exist.
He believed, hoping against hope,
that he would become the father of many nations,
according to what was said, Thus shall your descendants be.

Jesus said to his disciples:

or about what you are to say.
For the Holy Spirit will teach you at that moment what you should say.”

Formed: Hope in Resurrection
Because of his faith, Abraham became the father of all nations, not only Israel. His display of trust in the Lord is the example that all believers, Gentile or Jew, must follow. In following this faith—which points us to Christ—we can hope in the resurrection of the dead, just like Abraham did!

My prayer…
Dear God, my Abba Father, Lord Jesus my Savior, Holy Spirit within me.
Today’s readings and reflections are such a blessing. Like nutrition for the faith. Beautifully explaining, teaching, and inspiring through Your Word. Revealing the wisdom available to us and those that stay in the Word and walk by the Word. Help us stay in and walk by Your Word. For Your believers are under attack by the evil one in ways never before imaginable, and alone we cannot stand against him. But in and through You we can. So I continue to pray for me, mine and theirs. That You protect, bless and expand our resources to withstand the evil that is coming. Know You are with us, and will bring us home to You at the end of our walk in this evil world.
Thank You for loving enough and forgiving us always.
Not my will, but Yours Lord God.
