Gospel Luke 1:39-45
Mary set out in those days and traveled to the hill country in haste to a town of Judah, where she entered the house of Zechariah and greeted Elizabeth. When Elizabeth heard Mary’s greeting, the infant leaped in her womb, and Elizabeth, filled with the Holy Spirit, cried out in a loud voice and said, “Most blessed are you among women, and blessed is the fruit of your womb. And how does this happen to me, that the mother of my Lord should come to me? For at the moment the sound of your greeting reached my ears, the infant in my womb leaped for joy. Blessed are you who believed that what was spoken to you by the Lord would be fulfilled.”

Formed: Eager Anticipation
In the Song of Songs, the woman expresses her ardent longing for her beloved. This passage serves as an icon of the Church, the Bride of Christ, who eagerly anticipates the coming of her Bridegroom, Jesus. As we remember Jesus’ Incarnation and anticipate his Second Coming, in prayer today seek to grow in your longing and desire for Christ’s return.

Dear God, my Abba Father, Lord Jesus my Savior, Holy Spirit within me.
Thank You for all the ways You bring me closer to You. Help me, mine and theirs to know our role in the Theo-drama and learn to walk towards fulfillment of that role.
Not my will, but Yours Lord God.
Jesus, Mary, I love You, save souls.
In Jesus name I pray.
