We have sinned, been wicked and done evil; we have rebelled and departed from your commandments and your laws. We have not obeyed your servants the prophets, who spoke in your name to our kings, our princes, our fathers, and all the people of the land. Formed: Repentance and Forgiveness
In the First Reading, the prophet Daniel models repentant prayer. Despite his innocence, he identifies himself with the sins of the people and asks for mercy. As members of the Body of Christ, we are called to do the same. The Gospel, then, urges us to show mercy. We will be granted mercy in return!

Dear God, my Abba Father, Lord Jesus my Savior, Holy Spirit within me.
Only by the blood of my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ am I made whole again. So who am I to judge. We all have sinned and fall short of You glory Lord God. May I never forget, and always remember when I am tempted to do so.
Thank You for reminding me of this truth today. For walking with me, mine and theirs. Blessing and protecting us. Guiding and directing us.
Not our will, but Yours Lord God.
