In the first book, Theophilus,I dealt with all that Jesus did and taughtuntil the day he was taken up,after giving instructions through the Holy Spiritto the apostles whom he had chosen.He presented himself alive to themby many proofs after he had suffered,appearing to them during forty daysand speaking about the kingdom of God.While meeting with them,he enjoined them not to depart from Jerusalem,but to wait for “the promise of the Fatherabout which you have heard me speak;for John baptized with water,but in a few days you will be baptized with the Holy Spirit.”

Reflections
Formed: A Double Portion
The disciples witnessing Jesus ascending into heaven is a sign that they will receive a double portion of the Holy Spirit, which we see at Pentecost. Reflect on how the Spirit is poured out into the Church by this witness.

My prayer…
Dear God, my Abba Father, Lord Jesus my Savior, Holy Spirit within me.
My Ascended Lord, You entered the glories of Heaven, body and soul, as Your disciples looked on. They worshiped You but also struggled with doubts, like I do. Help me to also worship You with my whole being. As I do, reveal to me my lack of faith and trust in You and dispel these sins by the outpouring of the Holy Spirit for mine and others to see. Jesus, I trust in You.
Oh Lord God, hear my prayers!
As I pray for each of mine, I ask that Your love and protection, blessings surround them. Filling them with Your peace and confidence of our Your Word. Comforting them by letting them feel Your presence, and blessing them with Your wisdom to trust in Your truths and power of Your Word.
I pray for those who are ill and or facing health issues; physical, mental or spiritual. I pray for their healing, recovery, wellness and awakening. Give them the strength they need to make the necessary changes needed for a healthy lifestyle anchored in You.
I pray for the persecuted and homeless. For they face challenges beyond their control or ability to change. So help them Lord.
I remember and pray for all of mine that have passed on to You. Mom, Dub, Dad, Abuelita and Abuelito, Titi Evelyn and Fernando, Nana and Coco, Titi Lisa and Manuel, Louie, Uncle Mike, Carmen, Rosa, Titi Mary, Harold, Titi Gladys, Titi Nelly, Abuelo Angel, Abuela, Bryce, Robert, Matthew, David and Dave, Peggy, and Terri, all those not listed but often remembered. I ask that You bless and heal those still grieving from their loss.
Lord, I am also praying for a true awakening and revival. One that unites us in the name of Jesus. And stops the tribalism that divides us, believers and nones. Only You can bring this into being. So I pray to You. And also lift up in prayer our leaders, at Church, government and civic positions. Awaken their souls to Your truths and the righteousness of service. And the evil of corruption, power and greed.
Not my will, but Yours Lord God.
Jesus, Mary, I love You, save souls.
In Jesus name I pray.
