Readings & Prayer – I no longer desire to live a purely human life.

Dear Lord God, there is so much I have yet to understand about the mystery of Christ Jesus, but at the same time I know all I need to do; trust in Him, take His yoke. For in and through Jesus I will find my daily bread, to accept and fulfill Your will on earth as it is in heaven. O Lord that You would bless me today and that Your hand would be with me to keep me from evil and from causing pain. O Lord for the sake of His sorrowful passion have mercy on us and on the whole world. In Jesus name I pray, Amen.

24 Now I rejoice in my sufferings for your sake, and in my flesh I complete what is lacking in Christ’s afflictions for the sake of his body, that is, the church, 25 of which I became a minister according to the divine office which was given to me for you, to make the word of God fully known, 26 the mystery hidden for ages and generations but now made manifest to his saints. 27 To them God chose to make known how great among the Gentiles are the riches of the glory of this mystery, which is Christ in you, the hope of glory. 28 Him we proclaim, warning every man and teaching every man in all wisdom, that we may present every man mature in Christ. 29 For this I toil, striving with all the energy which he mightily inspires within me.
1 For I want you to know how greatly I strive for you, and for those at La-odice’a, and for all who have not seen my face, 2 that their hearts may be encouraged as they are knit together in love, to have all the riches of assured understanding and the knowledge of God’s mystery, of Christ, 3 in whom are hid all the treasures of wisdom and knowledge.
6 He only is my rock and my salvation, my fortress; I shall not be shaken. 7 On God rests my deliverance and my honor; my mighty rock, my refuge is God. 9 Men of low estate are but a breath, men of high estate are a delusion; in the balances they go up; they are together lighter than a breath.
6 On another sabbath, when he entered the synagogue and taught, a man was there whose right hand was withered. 7 And the scribes and the Pharisees watched him, to see whether he would heal on the sabbath, so that they might find an accusation against him. 8 But he knew their thoughts, and he said to the man who had the withered hand, "Come and stand here." And he rose and stood there. 9 And Jesus said to them, "I ask you, is it lawful on the sabbath to do good or to do harm, to save life or to destroy it?" 10 And he looked around on them all, and said to him, "Stretch out your hand." And he did so, and his hand was restored. 11 But they were filled with fury and discussed with one another what they might do to Jesus.

And he did so, and his hand was restored. 11 But they were filled with fury and discussed with one another what they might do to Jesus.

Readings & Prayer (Wednesday’s) – Conquering the tongue is better than fasting on bread and water!!

Dear Lord God, I have not yet conquered my anger and tongue; but this day I put my trust in You and prayed that Your will be done. Thank you Lord for Your mercy and grace, I know I am not worthy, but because You have chosen me, I will die and rise a thousand times to be molded by You, for You are the Potter and I the clay. In Jesus name I ask and pray that You would continue Your work in me, and that I might be a light on the hill that leads to You, Amen.

And he sat down and taught the people from the boat. 4 And when he had ceased speaking, he said to Simon, "Put out into the deep and let down your nets for a catch." 5 And Simon answered, "Master, we toiled all night and took nothing! But at your word I will let down the nets." 6 And when they had done this, they enclosed a great shoal of fish; and as their nets were breaking, 7 they beckoned to their partners in the other boat to come and help them. And they came and filled both the boats, so that they began to sink. 8 But when Simon Peter saw it, he fell down at Jesus’ knees, saying, "Depart from me, for I am a sinful man, O Lord." 9 For he was astonished, and all that were with him, at the catch of fish which they had taken; 10 and so also were James and John, sons of Zeb’edee, who were partners with Simon. And Jesus said to Simon, "Do not be afraid; henceforth you will be catching men." 11 And when they had brought their boats to land, they left everything and followed him.

Readings & Prayer – I remind you to stir into flame the gift of God that you have … For God did not give us a spirit of cowardice but rather of power and love and self-control.

Dear Lord God, on this day You carried me, blessed me and poured Your grace and mercy upon my being. Each time I began to worry and get anxious You were there to claim me, to help me to just do the best I could and trust in You. I pray that fruit will spring forth from this day according to You will, and I give thank and all the honor and glory to You, in Jesus name, Amen.
 
I remind you to stir into flame the gift of God that you have through the imposition of my hands. For God did not give us a spirit of cowardice but rather of power and love and self-control. So do not be ashamed of your testimony to our Lord, nor of me, a prisoner for his sake; but bear your share of the hardship for the gospel with the strength that comes from God.

Readings & Prayer – Who has learned thy counsel, unless thou hast given wisdom and sent thy holy Spirit from on high? So teach us to number our days that we may get a heart of wisdom.

Dear Lord God, I believe! But when I weigh and measure myself I find I come up short. And even as I think I continue to know You more, or at least spend more time trying to get to know You. I continue to stumble and in doing so see how far short I have fallen. My prayer and hope is that through Jesus Christ my Lord and Savior I fall forward towards You. Today’s readings talk about Wisdom.  As You know I have recently read the book after listening to the audio version several times about the Aramaic words spoken by Jesus. While I open my mind while I listen and read to such writings, and realize the abuses and horrors that have been served in Your name and in the name of Jesus Christ, I remain true to the belief that You are the One God, the I am, the Source of Source, the God of Abraham and Mohammed, the Father of Jesus Christ who is One with You and whom through the Holy Spirit resides in the heart of all human beings to remind us and help us find our way to You as spiritual beings. And while I seek to know You more, I may never really know You while in human form, while I want to feel closer this human body, may never let me. So I must continue to seek, to practice Your presence, always accepted that the mystery is just that and I cannot understanding, I just have to believe. So today I ask You in Jesus name and for the sake of His sorrowful passion, have mercy on us and on the whole world, Amen.

Luke 14:25-33
