On Being Born a Second Time

Do not marvel when I tell you that you must be born anew.

Truly, I tell you: unless you are born anew, you will not see the kingdom of God. Unless you are born of water and the breath of God, you will not enter into the kingdom of God.

That which is born of the flesh is flesh; and that which is born of the breath of God is spirit. The wind blows where it wishes, and we hear the sound that it makes; still we do not know from where it comes, or where it will go. So it is for those who are born anew by the breath of God.

Abba, Father, Lord God, thankful and humble, I find myself thinking of the Words of Jesus, ‘take heed, beware of living Your live on religious food’ as I search for ways, and I seek to be close to You in every way, in everything and every place. As I come across  those walking Your light I think and ask of these words and I think of the Spirit as Jesus spoke to Nicode’mus, ‘That which is born of the flesh is flesh; and that which is born of the breath of God is spirit. The wind blows where it wishes, and we hear the sound that it makes; still we do not know from where it comes, or where it will go. So it is for those who are born anew by the breath of God.’ And I think of bringing purpose to seeking to follow Your will, not as the world under the sun sees purpose, but as Jesus taught – through serving. But You know my thoughts, You know me inside and out, You know as I’ve been and as I am. You know the thoughts and questions that I struggle with and only You in Jesus by the Spirit can keep me free to with wings of an eagle on the wind of the Spirit far above the thoughts and questions of You under the sun; looking down with eyes of faith, seeing hope, expressing love for everyone and everything; no matter what. O this is where I seek to be on the wings of eagles close to Thee. In the name of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit, Amen.

And of what should we be afraid? Our captain on this battlefield is Christ Jesus. We have discovered what we have to do. Christ has bound our enemies for us and weakened them that they cannot overcome us unless we so choose to let them. So we must fight courageously and mark ourselves with the sign of the most Holy Cross.

Disciples and Servants

You cannot allow two masters to rule your life. Either you will disregard one and love the other; or else cling to one and despise the other. You cannot serve God and remain enslaved to the gods of this world.

Consider that which you possess in this life: family, money, and earthly possessions. Unless you are willing to make a total commitment, even of what you cherish, you cannot truly follow me.

You have seen how the earthly rulers exercise their authority, inconsiderate of the poor. This is not how it is to those in the kingdom of God . Whoever would be great among you must first become your servant. And whoever of you would be the greatest, must first be servant of all. Even so, I have come, not to be served, but to serve, and to give my life as a ransom for many.

If you know these things, happy are you when you do them. Continue in the light of my word. Only then are you truly my disciples.

Refrain from calling men your spiritual father; for you have only one Father who dwells in heaven. Neither allow anyone to call you learned teacher; for there is only one true teacher, Christ. The person who would be greatest among you must first become your servant; and all who humble themselves shall be exalted.

You call me master and teacher. If I, then, am willing to be your most humble servant, should not you be willing to serve one another as well? I have lived my life as an example before you. Imitate me, and do the same to others as I have done for you.

Abba, Father, Lord God, thankful and humble, I struggle to rise above the ways under the sun that serve to bind and hold me under. Looking to You through Jesus in the Spirit to pull me up out from under, keep coming to the Words He spoke first and to the Spirit to guide my heart in Jesus first for I do believe He is the way, the only way to know and understand You, based on that knowledge and understand that You grant each of us based on the spiritual gifts You have given us. Always walking with Jesus as my teacher and example to follow, for I know it is not easy to serve and place others first in everything, but that is just what He teaches us. To die to ourselves, and in dying we will find ourselves as we really are with You in the I am. O that You would hold me close, help me through the narrow door that I seek, and to be just as I am free in You. In the name of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit, Amen.

The Father

What do you think of Jesus Christ? Whose Son is he?

No one knows who the Son of God is, except the Father in heaven: and no one can know who the Father is, except the Son and those to whom the Son will reveal him. Until now you have not known him as I do; but I have come, sent from him to you.

The One who has sent me is present with me now. There is no separation between us, for I always do what pleases him. In fact, in seeing me you have seen the Father. Why then do you keep saying, "Reveal God to us?" Do you not believe that I am one, and equal with my Father?

I and my Father are one. Everything that the Father has is mine. I have come from the Father to this world; I will leave this world again, and return to my Father.

The Son can do nothing on his own, but does only what he sees the Father do. The Father loves the Son, and has revealed to him his universal plan; and you will witness even greater miracles than those which you have already seen. Even as the Father raises the dead and gives new life, so the son will give new life to whomever he will.

And yet, I can do nothing on my own; I judge only as God guides me; my ways are perfect because I seek not my own will, but the will of the Father who has sent me. As the Father has the power to give life, so the Son has the gift of life, and has been given the authority to execute judgment, because he is the Messiah, the Son of Man.

I have said this from the beginning: there is much in your lives that I could condemn, but I have come with another message, given to me by the One who is the truth. This is the message that I speak to the world.

When at last you lift up the Son of Man (on the cross), you will know who I am, realizing that I did nothing according to my own plan or authority, but delivered to you the words which my Father instructed me to proclaim.

Abba, Father, Lord God, thankful and humbly, I keep up the fight to grow closer to You in obedience to my source of source which like a raging river flows through the universe breaking that which seeks its own will until one finds his own will in You through Jesus in the Spirit. O that You would bless me indeed, enlarge my territory, keep me from evil and from causing pain. In the name of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit, Amen.

The Power of Prayer

Until now, you have asked nothing in my name. Ask, and you will receive, and your joy will be full.

The prophet Isaiah has written: "My house shall be called by all nations a house of prayer."

Pray then, to the Father who hears your most intimate prayers and rewards them openly; and whatever you ask the Father in my name, he will provide. If you live your life in me, and let my words live in you, you may ask what you wish and it will be given to you.

Pray in this manner:

“Our Father in heaven, may all the earth recognize that you are the one and holy God.

This Generation

Whoever is ashamed of me and of my words in these days of sin and non-belief of that person, the Son of Man will be ashamed when he returns in the glory of his Father with the holy angels.

John, the forerunner, came and lived among you in great austerity. Everyone said: "He must be possessed of a demon."

Now the Son of Man has come to you, enjoying life, and you say: "He is a drunkard and a glutton, and the friend of sinners!" With such brilliance, you justify your own inconsistency.

Oh generation, who live your lives based on lies: how can you, being without truth, say anything worth hearing? For out of the abundance of the heart, the mouth speaks.

When it is evening, you say: "It will be fair weather, for the sky is red."

In the morning you say: "It will be foul weather today, for the sky is threatening."

With accuracy you forecast a change in the weather. How is it that you have failed to discern the signs of the times?

Come unto me all who are tired, oppressed, and sick of life, and I will give you wonderful rest! Receive my words and let me teach you, for I am gentle and kind. You will find rest for your souls. That which I ask of you is for your benefit, and that which I demand of you is light.

Those who have chosen to follow me in this generation will one day sit upon thrones and judge kingdoms and kings who have hardened their hearts and turned away from these righteous words.

Abba, Father, Lord God, thankful for Your blessings, humbled by the reality of my nature, I feel empty, void of the grace and mercy needed for others; so I come to You seeking, asking and praying for my daily bread to feed and fill me with Your love, compassion and understanding. I seek refuge in Your presence and rest and peace in Your arms. Pull me close, carry me if You must, take me past myself and above my nature. Liken my heart to that of my Lord Jesus’ and keep me from causing any pain. O for the sake of His sorrowful passion have mercy on us and on the whole world. Help us to keep our hearts open and to seek only to You when we are tired and sick of life under the sun, to rest and receive Your Words, the Words spoken by Jesus, the Words of live, the Words that feed our souls, comforting us when we draw near and convicting us when we drift away. O Lord God keep me close, in Jesus light my path, through the Spirit guide my thoughts, words and actions. In the name of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit, Amen.

Abba, Father, Lord God, thankful, aware, humble I cannot help but grow anxious and my anxiousness creates doubt; help me fight doubt with faith, and anxiousness with hope through my believe in Jesus as my Savior, the One who restores me with You and helps teach and guide me in knowing and understanding Your ways and my weak nature. For under the sun we allow ourselves as I have to be tricked into thinking we know, we can, we are, but in and through Jesus we are awakened to truth of how You as our Source or Source makes us what and who we are, all of which is fulfilled only in and with You. How complicated when viewed or discerned with a mind raised under the sun to accept, but with the innocence of our youth, that of a child it all becomes so easy to accept – yeah seek and desire. O that You would for the sake of His sorrowful passion have mercy on us, and on the whole world. And open our hearts to and for Jesus by standing up firmly for His name and this His season, and in doing so relive that innocence, and be prepared to tell His story the real story of Christmas.
