Faith that Moves Mountains

According to your faith, so you will receive.

V

Abba, Father, Lord God, humble and thankful I ask how? By faith! In the name of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit, Amen.

After you have made a decision that is pleasing to God, the Devil may try to make you have second thoughts. Intensify your prayer time, meditation, and good deeds. For if Satan’s temptations merely cause you to increase your efforts to grow in holiness, he’ll have an incentive to leave you alone.

Sirach 50:22-24

22  And now bless the God of all, who in every way does great things; who exalts our days from birth, and deals with us according to his mercy.  23  May he give us gladness of heart, and grant that peace may be in our days in Israel, as in the days of old.  24  May he entrust to us his mercy! And let him deliver us in our days!
Psalm 138:1-5

2  I bow down toward thy holy temple and give thanks to thy name for thy steadfast love and thy faithfulness; for thou hast exalted above everything thy name and thy word.  3  On the day I called, thou didst answer me, my strength of soul thou didst increase.
1 Corinthians 1:3-9

3  Grace to you and peace from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ.  4  I give thanks to God always for you because of the grace of God which was given you in Christ Jesus,  5  that in every way you were enriched in him with all speech and all knowledge —  6  even as the testimony to Christ was confirmed among you —  7  so that you are not lacking in any spiritual gift, as you wait for the revealing of our Lord Jesus Christ;  8  who will sustain you to the end, guiltless in the day of our Lord Jesus Christ.  9  God is faithful, by whom you were called into the fellowship of his Son, Jesus Christ our Lord.
Luke 17:11-19

11  On the way to Jerusalem he was passing along between Sama’ria and Galilee.  12 And as he entered a village, he was met by ten lepers, who stood at a distance  13  and lifted up their voices and said, "Jesus, Master, have mercy on us."  14  When he saw them he said to them, "Go and show yourselves to the priests." And as they went they were cleansed.  15  Then one of them, when he saw that he was healed, turned back, praising God with a loud voice;  16  and he fell on his face at Jesus’ feet, giving him thanks. Now he was a Samaritan.  17  Then said Jesus, "Were not ten cleansed? Where are the nine?  18  Was no one found to return and give praise to God except this foreigner?"  19  And he said to him, "Rise and go your way; your faith has made you well."

The Pontiff in Winter: Triumph and Conflict in the Reign of John Paul II By John Cornwell Narrated by John Lee – Pope John Paul II is one of the most famous and influential political figures of the world. Now, best-selling author and journalist John Cornwell has written an accessible and provocative portrait of this highly charged figure, focusing primarily on the last five years and the major world events, and scandals within the Church that have impacted the papacy. The result is a thoughtful assessment of John Paul II’s legacy to the Church. In an age when many people see the Catholic Church as an institution in crisis, Cornwell raises the level of debate by posing difficult questions; chief among them is the effectiveness of a system that grants lifetime power to an individual vulnerable to the vicissitudes of aging and illness.

The Words of Jesus of Nazareth

Christ’s Prayer for His Disciples

Father of goodness and truth, the world has not known you; but I have known you, and those who believe in me know that it is you who sent me. I have revealed you to them, and will continue to reveal you to them, so that I, and the love you have given me, may fully dwell in their hearts.

V

Abba, Father, Lord God, thankful and humble, I must prevail, I must endure, I must let You complete the work You have begun in me; help me get out of the way of Your work. In the name of the Father, the Son, the Holy Spirit, Amen.

Revelation 15:1-4

4  Who shall not fear and glorify thy name, O Lord? For thou alone art holy. All nations shall come and worship thee, for thy judgments have been revealed."
Psalm 98:1-3, 7-9
Luke 21:12-19

12  But before all this they will lay their hands on you and persecute you, delivering you up to the synagogues and prisons, and you will be brought before kings and governors for my name’s sake.  13  This will be a time for you to bear testimony.  14  Settle it therefore in your minds, not to meditate beforehand how to answer;  15  for I will give you a mouth and wisdom, which none of your adversaries will be able to withstand or contradict.  16  You will be delivered up even by parents and brothers and kinsmen and friends, and some of you they will put to death;  17  you will be hated by all for my name’s sake.  18  But not a hair of your head will perish.  19  By your endurance you will gain your lives.

The New Doctrine

Whoever hears my words and acts upon them is wise, and builds on a foundation made of stone.

The rains descend, and the floods rise. Hurricane winds beat against the house, yet it stands strong: for it is built on solid rock.

But whoever hears my life-giving words and rejects them chooses to build on a foundation of sand. The rains descend, and the floods rise. Hurricane winds beat against the house, and the foundation crumbles. The house collapses, and great is its fall.

Once, there were two men who went into the temple to pray. One was a proud, self-righteous man, while the other was a miserable tax collector well known for his dishonesty. The proud man prayed: "Thank God I am not a sinner like other people, especially that cheating tax collector I see here today. I never cheat, nor do I commit adultery. I fast twice a week, and I give the temple a tenth of all that I earn."

The tax collector remained in the back of the temple, and dared not lift his eyes toward heaven. He prayed sorrowfully: "God, please be merciful to me. I am unworthy and have fallen short of what you ask."

I tell you now that the tax collector who recognized his need for God’s mercy returned to his house lighthearted, free from anxiety, and forgiven. Those who, in their pride, exalt themselves will be humbled, while those who humble themselves will rise above the cares of this world to a place of blessing and honor.

Let the little children come to me, and do not refuse them. The kingdom of God belongs to hearts so trusting; for without a childlike faith, you will never enter the kingdom.

V

Abba, Father, Lord God, thankful that I am able to see and feel Your hand in all I do as the source of source of my blessings, or the hand of reason that convicts me when I walk by self rather than in and with Jesus and guides me into the light of His wisdom and knowledge for He knows this world under the sun, though He is not of this world, He is from above Your Kingdom and through the Spirit lives in me and is my Savior here to teach and save me from myself and the ways under the sun and from being like all things under the sun passing. How humbled I am to know that He, Your Son would love care about me enough to suffer the passion of Christ for me and mine; to free me and mine from the chains and natural desires, pride and selfishness that consumes those that fail to open their hearts to Him. O that He would hurry to finish His work within me, or stay with me, yeah even carry me in order that I and mine endure to His work within me is complete. So while I think and hope You will bless me indeed helping me with those blessings You have put before me; I know I all I can ask an pray for is that You would complete that work. In the name of the Father, the Son, the Holy Spirit, Amen.

It is true that God’s power triumphs over everything, but humble and suffering prayer prevails over God Himself.

Isaiah 40:1-5, 9-11

3  A voice cries: "In the wilderness prepare the way of the LORD, make straight in the desert a highway for our God.  4  Every valley shall be lifted up, and every mountain and hill be made low; the uneven ground shall become level, and the rough places a plain.  5  And the glory of the LORD shall be revealed, and all flesh shall see it together, for the mouth of the LORD has spoken."  10  Behold, the Lord GOD comes with might, and his arm rules for him; behold, his reward is with him, and his recompense before him.  11  He will feed his flock like a shepherd, he will gather the lambs in his arms, he will carry them in his bosom, and gently lead those that are with young.
Psalm 85:9-14
2 Peter 3:8-14

8  But do not ignore this one fact, beloved, that with the Lord one day is as a thousand years, and a thousand years as one day.  9  The Lord is not slow about his promise as some count slowness, but is forbearing toward you, not wishing that any should perish, but that all should reach repentance.  10  But the day of the Lord will come like a thief, and then the heavens will pass away with a loud noise, and the elements will be dissolved with fire, and the earth and the works that are upon it will be burned up.  11  Since all these things are thus to be dissolved, what sort of persons ought you to be in lives of holiness and godliness,  12  waiting for and hastening the coming of the day of God, because of which the heavens will be kindled and dissolved, and the elements will melt with fire!  13  But according to his promise we wait for new heavens and a new earth in which righteousness dwells.  14  Therefore, beloved, since you wait for these, be zealous to be found by him without spot or blemish, and at peace.
Mark 1:1-8

1  The beginning of the gospel of Jesus Christ, the Son of God.  2  As it is written in Isaiah the prophet, "Behold, I send my messenger before thy face, who shall prepare thy way;  3  the voice of one crying in the wilderness: Prepare the way of the Lord, make his paths straight — "  4  John the baptizer appeared in the wilderness, preaching a baptism of repentance for the forgiveness of sins.  5  And there went out to him all the country of Judea, and all the people of Jerusalem; and they were baptized by him in the river Jordan, confessing their sins.  6  Now John was clothed with camel’s hair, and had a leather girdle around his waist, and ate locusts and wild honey.  7  And he preached, saying, "After me comes he who is mightier than I, the thong of whose sandals I am not worthy to stoop down and untie.  8  I have baptized you with water; but he will baptize you with the Holy Spirit."

There’s No Such Thing as "Business" Ethics (Unabridged) Best-selling author and expert on leadership John C. Maxwell claims there is only one rule for business. How does a person judge what is ethical? Sometimes it’s clear. You know Enron’s leaders were in the wrong. But is it always easy to see where the line is in your life? What’s the standard? And can it work in all situations? John C. Maxwell thinks it can. When the New York Times best-selling author, successful businessman, and former pastor was asked about his thoughts on business ethics, his response was, "There’s no such thing. There’s only ethics." Maxwell asserts there’s one ethical standard for all behavior. And you might be surprised by what it’s based on. Did you know that a variation of the Golden Rule exists in every major religion? In There’s No Such Thing as Business Ethics, Maxwell shows how people can live with integrity by using the Golden Rule as their standard (regardless of religion, culture, or circumstances). Along the way, he delves into the desires of the human heart, reveals the five most common causes that get people off track ethically, and teaches how to develop the Midas touch when it comes to integrity.

The Words of Jesus of Nazareth by Lee Cantelon

The Great Commission

Let those who are spiritually dead attend to their earthly concerns; but you go and proclaim the coming of the kingdom of God to the waiting world.

There is a great harvest before you, but sadly, the laborers are few. Pray to the Lord of the harvest that he will send more laborers to gather in his harvest. No one who puts his hand to the plough and then looks back is suitable for the kingdom of God.

If you believe in me, you will do the same works that I do. Even greater works will you accomplish, for I must return to my Father in Heaven. If you wish to serve me, follow me; and where I am, there you, my servant, will be as well, honored by my Father.

Go announce to the world: "The kingdom of heaven has come to dwell among you."

Heal the sick, restore the lepers to health , raise the dead, and cast out devils! Remember what I have told you: "Freely you have received. Freely give!"

If you are not for me, you are against me; and they that do not gather with me, scatter.

These words I have spoken to you, that in me, and in your obedience to them, you might find peace. In the world you will experience pain and trouble, but rejoice, for I have overcome the world.

V

Abba, Father, Lord God, thankful for all Your blessings, and humbled by the reality of my nature, I ask and pray that You give me discerning heart for Jesus first, that in all I do and seek I look for Him first; and in all the blessings and people You place in my path I seek Him and look for His truths never letting the lies and rationalizing of that nature take me away from that path to You no matter how narrow. In the name of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit, Amen.

Isaiah 30:19-21, 23-26

20  And though the Lord give you the bread of adversity and the water of affliction, yet your Teacher will not hide himself any more, but your eyes shall see your Teacher.  21  And your ears shall hear a word behind you, saying, "This is the way, walk in it," when you turn to the right or when you turn to the left.
Psalm 147:1-6
Matthew 9:3510:1, 5, 6-8

35  And Jesus went about all the cities and villages, teaching in their synagogues and preaching the gospel of the kingdom, and healing every disease and every infirmity.  36  When he saw the crowds, he had compassion for them, because they were harassed and helpless, like sheep without a shepherd.  37  Then he said to his disciples, "The harvest is plentiful, but the laborers are few;  38  pray therefore the Lord of the harvest to send out laborers into his harvest." 1  And he called to him his twelve disciples and gave them authority over unclean spirits, to cast them out, and to heal every disease and every infirmity.  5  These twelve Jesus sent out, charging them, "Go nowhere among the Gentiles, and enter no town of the Samaritans,  6  but go rather to the lost sheep of the house of Israel.  7  And preach as you go, saying, `The kingdom of heaven is at hand.’  8  Heal the sick, raise the dead, cleanse lepers, cast out demons. You received without paying, give without pay.

Faith that Moves Mountains

According to your faith, so you will receive.

Many will come in the last days, from every corner of the earth, and enter into the kingdom of heaven. But the self-righteous and pious, who thought they would be first, and yet lived their lives without faith, will not enter in.

If two agree by faith, my Father in heaven will grant their request. For wherever two or three are gathered in my name, I am present with them.

If you believe all things to be possible and leave no room for doubt, what you ask or command will be done. This is why I tell you: whatever it is that you desire, when you pray, believe that you will receive it, and you will.

As you live your life invigorated by the breath of God, the conflicts of this earth will be overcome by heaven’s power: and whatever you allocate on earth will be that which is in accordance to heaven’s plan.

Do not be afraid any longer, but believe. Everything is possible to the one who believes.

V

Abba, Father, Lord God, thankful and humble I read the Words of my Lord Jesus; ‘These words I have spoken to you, that in me, and in your obedience to them, you might find peace. In the world you will experience pain and trouble, but rejoice, for I have overcome the world.’ And I know I have not been obedient, yet because of Him I am forgiven, and through Him I learn about You, and I know in the Spirit which is alive in me, and through Him I am with You, and in You with Him in the Spirit I feel peace, the peace only You through Him who overcame that which I cannot will His Spirit lead me back home to You. I give thanks and listen attentively in His Words. In the name of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit, Amen.

Isaiah 29:17-24

17  Is it not yet a very little while until Lebanon shall be turned into a fruitful field, and the fruitful field shall be regarded as a forest?  18  In that day the deaf shall hear the words of a book, and out of their gloom and darkness the eyes of the blind shall see.  19  The meek shall obtain fresh joy in the LORD, and the poor among men shall exult in the Holy One of Israel.
Psalm 27:1, 4, 13-14

4  One thing have I asked of the LORD, that will I seek after; that I may dwell in the house of the LORD all the days of my life, to behold the beauty of the LORD, and to inquire in his temple.  13  I believe that I shall see the goodness of the LORD in the land of the living!  14  Wait for the LORD; be strong, and let your heart take courage; yea, wait for the LORD!
Matthew 9:27-31

27  And as Jesus passed on from there, two blind men followed him, crying aloud, "Have mercy on us, Son of David."  28  When he entered the house, the blind men came to him; and Jesus said to them, "Do you believe that I am able to do this?" They said to him, "Yes, Lord."  29  Then he touched their eyes, saying, "According to your faith be it done to you."  30  And their eyes were opened. And Jesus sternly charged them, "See that no one knows it."  31  But they went away and spread his fame through all that district.

A Place for You

I go to prepare a place for you.

Know this: if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again, and take you to be there with me; so that where I am, there you may be also. Let not your heart be troubled: you believe in God; believe also in me. In my Father’s house are many mansions: if it were not so, I would have told you. I must go away, but I will come again to you. If you truly loved me you would rejoice, because I return to the Father.

Abba, Father, Lord God, thankful, yet humble that t is by Your grace and mercy alone that I walk, I do ask and pray for Your blessings indeed. That your hand would be with me and mine to keep us from evil and from causing pain. I pray that You would touch our hearts through the spirit of the Advent season awakening us to the importance to put and keep Jesus at the center of our Christmas; and that through and in Jesus take refuge in His love and passion for us by doing Your will for us first, above our desires, above all. In the name of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit, Amen.

Isaiah 26:1-6
Psalm 118:1, 8-9, 19-21, 25-27

8  It is better to take refuge in the LORD than to put confidence in man.  21  I thank thee that thou hast answered me and hast become my salvation.
Matthew 7:21, 24-27

21  "Not every one who says to me, `Lord, Lord,’ shall enter the kingdom of heaven, but he who does the will of my Father who is in heaven.  24  "Every one then who hears these words of mine and does them will be like a wise man who built his house upon the rock;  25  and the rain fell, and the floods came, and the winds blew and beat upon that house, but it did not fall, because it had been founded on the rock.  26  And every one who hears these words of mine and does not do them will be like a foolish man who built his house upon the sand;  27  and the rain fell, and the floods came, and the winds blew and beat against that house, and it fell; and great was the fall of it."
