It is written: “Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceeds out from the mouth of God.”

OneWalk with Jesus

A thought…
The longing for true unity in spirit and in truth causes one to seek farther. One must follow the way of Jesus, sacrifice oneself, and take up one’s cross daily. This desire leads to listening to and learning from others. It challenges the heart to open itself, to trust in one’s brothers and sisters and put them first, before one’s own ambitions. That is certainly difficult. If the unity about which Jesus speaks and for which he prays is to be a unity built on truth, it needs to be both self-searching and reconciling. It makes amends for injustices and prays for the wounds and divisions in the Body of Christ.

I’m thankful for…

Jesus my Savior, my family and each and every picture they send me or share on social media as they warm my heart and draw me close to them, today, my health, being able to work with my son, being able to struggle through tough times with my son, for the moments I feel the father and son bond. For all the little things like the comfort food (shrimp and rice) my wife made, that red light that stops me at just the right time, when we have no equipment problems at work, the recent cold because I drink my detox tea hot, for the feeling I get when I put on my warm socks and sit down to write these thoughts and prayers.

A prayer…
Dear Lord God, Abba Father, thank You for today. A new day with new chances and opportunities. Help ready me to reflect Your presence in all I think, say and do. I see Your hand at work throughout the day. In all the tough times and the few good moments. I feel Your hammer strike the chisel as You work in me to shape me into Your Image. And praise Your Word which is truth. I ask that You bless this day and continue to bless me and mine, keep us from evil and causing pain. Help us to learn to pray together. In Jesus name I pray. Glory be to the Father and to the Son and to the Holy Ghost; as it was in the beginning is now and ever shall be, world without end. Amen.

A verse…
“Take good counsel and accept correction- that’s the way to live wisely and well. We humans keep brainstorming options and plans, but GOD’s purpose prevails.”
Proverbs 19:20-21 MSG

The Words written in red…

It is written: "Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceeds out from the mouth of God."

I am the bread of life: if you come to me, you will never again hunger spiritually; and if you believe in me, you will never again know spiritual thirst. Rise up! Take hold of the living bread, the spiritual bread that has come down from heaven: if you eat of this bread, you will live forever. The bread that I offer you is my life, which I give for the life of the world. I am the bread of life come down from heaven so that you may feast on spiritual food, and because of this receive spiritual life and not die.

All of your energies are spent in the pursuit of food that perishes; instead, seek spiritual food that will endure forever. This is the food that I long to give you, for God the Father has given me this power.

In The Words Jesus of Nazareth, Lee Cantelon compiled Jesus’ words thematically, in clear and modern English, for non-Christians, spiritual seekers, agnostics and believers.
