Happy 4th of July!

In the midst of patriotism, parades, watermelon, and fireworks, we’re asking you to take a few moments to unite your heart with thousands of other believers in praying for this great country.

• Pray that God will raise up righteous leaders who will model integrity and authenticity. (Eph. 4:1-2; Prov. 14:34)

• Pray that godly men and women will be placed in positions of authority so that God’s people can rejoice. (Prov. 29:2)

• Pray that people will be able to see truth (Ps. 86:11), that error will be exposed, and that people with wicked agendas will be made weak. (Prov. 25:5)

• Pray that Christians will avoid negativity, fault-finding, and contentiousness, but instead will stand out as God’s loving, pure children. (Phil. 2:14–15)

• Pray that Christians will put their confidence in God rather than any political candidate. (Ps. 118:8–9)

• Pray that Christians will look to God to overcome the enemies of truth and righteousness. (Ps. 60:11-12)

• Pray that God will work through leaders to keep the doors open for His gospel to be proclaimed. (Col. 4:3a)

One Walk with Jesus is about knowing who you are in Christ and following Him above all else…

A prayer…

Dear God, my Abba Father, Lord Jesus my Savior, thank You for this day You have made. For the United States of America. For with all it’s history (good and bad), with all it’s strengths and weaknesses, it’s still the country most people want to come to. Thinking about all the events that have brought us to where we are today, I can’t help but think what it would have been like to live during the Revolutionary War when this country was born. Or the Civil War when this country was divided. Or WWII when this country rose to world leadership. Only You know Lord. But what I do see is a loss of love. Love for this country. Love for each other. A loss of civility. And I know only You can heal and bring about true love. So this day that is my prayer that this country feels and shows love. Love for this country and one another. In Jesus name I pray. Glory be to the Father and to the Son and to the Holy Ghost; as it was in the beginning is now and ever shall be, world without end. Amen.
