for they were like sheep without a shepherd;

“This is a deserted place and it is already very late.
Dismiss them so that they can go
to the surrounding farms and villages
and buy themselves something to eat.”

“Give them some food yourselves.”

“Are we to buy two hundred days’ wages worth of food
and give it to them to eat?”

1 John 3:22–4:6
Beloved:
We receive from him whatever we ask,
because we keep his commandments and do what pleases him.
And his commandment is this:
we should believe in the name of his Son, Jesus Christ,
and love one another just as he commanded us.
Those who keep his commandments remain in him, and he in them,
and the way we know that he remains in us
is from the Spirit whom he gave us.
Beloved, do not trust every spirit
but test the spirits to see whether they belong to God,
because many false prophets have gone out into the world.
This is how you can know the Spirit of God:
every spirit that acknowledges Jesus Christ come in the flesh
belongs to God,
and every spirit that does not acknowledge Jesus
does not belong to God.
This is the spirit of the antichrist
who, as you heard, is to come,
but in fact is already in the world.
You belong to God, children, and you have conquered them,
for the one who is in you
is greater than the one who is in the world.
They belong to the world;
accordingly, their teaching belongs to the world,
and the world listens to them.
We belong to God, and anyone who knows God listens to us,
while anyone who does not belong to God refuses to hear us.
This is how we know the spirit of truth and the spirit of deceit.

Dear God, my Abba Father, Lord Jesus my Savior, thank You for reminding me that the battle belongs to You Lord. And though trials and tribulations we face may seem overwhelming at times, in and through You we overcome them, especially the battle within ourselves to trust and believe above all doubt. Thank You for this Jesus. And for all Your blessings and each of mine. You do bless me beyond measure. Your mercy and grace has no end. Help us to walk knowing this and praying without ceasing for the lost and suffering alone without You. Jesus, Mary, I love You, save souls. In Jesus name I pray. Then Herod called the magi secretly
and ascertained from them the time of the star’s appearance.
He sent them to Bethlehem and said,
“Go and search diligently for the child.
When you have found him, bring me word,
that I too may go and do him homage.”
After their audience with the king they set out.
And behold, the star that they had seen at its rising preceded them,
until it came and stopped over the place where the child was.
They were overjoyed at seeing the star,
and on entering the house
they saw the child with Mary his mother.
They prostrated themselves and did him homage.
Then they opened their treasures
and offered him gifts of gold, frankincense, and myrrh.
And having been warned in a dream not to return to Herod,
they departed for their country by another way.

Dear God, my Abba Father, Lord Jesus my Savior, thank You the gift of family. For using them to touch me and inspire me to grow closer to You. To want to trust You more. To learn how to pray. Your blessings are beyond measure. I’m humbled by Your grace and mercy. And pray for those souls still searching. Yes I have doubts and my lack of understanding can somethings fuel that doubt. But I fight to trust in Jesus. His Gospel. The Bible. For the seed You planted in me knows to trust You, even when I don’t understand how. Taking it one moment, one step at a time.
