A good woman is hard to find, and worth far more than diamonds.

Abba Father thank you for my Annie and for blessing our marriage for 29 years. Years that as I look back remind me of rings in a tree. Not all are perfect. Some have cracks and some surround knots full of regret. But because of You our love for what we are and have together has held us together. And like the rings in a tree, together we are better and stronger, able to twist and bend, without breaking. I believe You put us together, and our love for each other is much like our faith, often filled with doubt, but purified and strengthened by fire. I pray for Your continued blessing, and that together we will fulfill Your will. In the name of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit, Amen.

If you have faith as a mustard seed . . . nothing will be impossible for you

Abba Father with eyes of faith, help me to walk by faith. To remain true to Your character no matter what. Let my ‘one walk’ be an example to mine and others of faith being worked out in the reality of my experiences. Never confusing the trial of faith with the ordinary discipline of life,1 which we must all learn by our one to one relationship with You. Help me to make sure that whenever I speak, words are given to me, so that I will be able to fearlessly make known the truth in the mystery of the gospel – one walk. Which starts with a pure heart, likened to Jesus’ and a steadfast spirit. Strong in You and Your almighty power. (r or l) Free of judgement and full of forgiveness and love. As a channel of Your peace and love in all situations with all people. Putting my love for You and others first, as You love me. Praying through the Spirit for me and mine to fulfill Your will. And always praying for those You place in my path. In the name of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit, Amen

Greater love has no one than this, that he lay down his life [position] for his friends.

Abba Father keep teaching me to love through sacrifice. To die to myself in the now of each moment to fulfill Your will and purpose. With a pure heart, and a steadfast spirit within me. Keep me stay strong in You and Your almighty power. (r or l) Ready for my one walk in and with You today. A channel of Your peace and love in all situations with all people. Free of judgement and full of forgiveness and love. Remembering that if I get nothing else done, let me spend it loving You and others first, as You love me. Being alert to always praying for those You place in my path. Asking that whenever I speak, words may be given to me, so that I will fearlessly make known the truth in the mystery of the gospel – one walk. In the name of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit, Amen.

If when we were enemies we were reconciled to God through the death of His Son, much more, having been reconciled, we shall be saved by His life

Abba Father I must remind myself, that I am not saved by believing— at some point I simply realize I am saved by believing. I am not saved by following— again at some point, repentance is only the sign that I realize what God has done through Christ Jesus. The danger for me is putting the emphasis on the effect, instead of on the cause. For my salvation comes from You, it is not based on my logic or anything I can do, but on the sacrificial death of Jesus.1 The more I work this out in my one walk with You. The closer I get to being His disciple. For at the foot of the Cross is where You create a pure heart, and renew a steadfast spirit within me each morning. Here I am free of judgement and full of forgiveness and love. Strong in You and Your almighty power. (r or l) The key to my one walk is to remember this as I step out today. So that no matter what else, I spend this day loving You and others first, as You love me. Always praying for me and mine in fulfillment of Your will, and for those You place in my path. Connected to You in the now of each moment. So that whenever I speak, words may be given to me, so that I will fearlessly make known the truth in the mystery of the gospel – one walk. In the name of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit, Amen.

My Daily Prayers and Readings for 10/24/2013

The world is unprincipled. It’s dog-eat-dog out there! The world doesn’t fight fair. But we don’t live or fight our battles that way—never have and never will. The tools of our trade aren’t for marketing or manipulation, but they are for demolishing that entire massively corrupt culture. We use our powerful God-tools for smashing warped philosophies, tearing down barriers erected against the truth of God, fitting every loose thought and emotion and impulse into the structure of life shaped by Christ. Our tools are ready at hand for clearing the ground of every obstruction and building lives of obedience into maturity.

Lord Jesus I am held captive by You. Here for one purpose.1 To accept and nurture the seed You planted in my heart at birth – a seed that grows in need to love, know and have a relationship with You. To learn how to be obedient follower. To walk the narrow road of discipleship. For I, like Paul “am in the procession of a conqueror, and it doesn’t matter what the difficulties are, I am always led in triumph.”2 My task is simple, but can only be complete in You. To start each day through the Holy Spirit within me where You can create a pure heart, and renew a steadfast spirit within me. Free of judgement and full of forgiveness and love. Strong in You and Your almighty power. (r or l) For my one walk in and with You. As a channel of Your peace and love in all situations with all people. Remembering that if I get nothing else done this day, let me spend it loving You and others first, as You love me. Praying for me and mine in fulfillment of Your will, and for those You place in my path. Always asking that whenever I speak, words may be given to me, so that I will fearlessly make known the truth in the mystery of the gospel – one walk. For when I am weak, then I am strong.

My Daily Prayers and Readings for 10/20/2013

But he said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.” Therefore I will boast all the more gladly about my weaknesses, so that Christ’s power may rest on me. That is why, for Christ’s sake, I delight in weaknesses, in insults, in hardships, in persecutions, in difficulties. For when I am weak, then I am strong.

Abba Father, how grateful I am that You accept me where I am. You can use every experience of my life. Teach me to find hope in You. Make me an effective vessel through whom others will find You as their Savior.1 Give me a pure heart, and a steadfast spirit for my one walk in and with You. As a channel of Your peace and love in all situations with all people. I man after Your own heart. Free of judgement and full of forgiveness and love. Strong in You and Your almighty power. (r or l) Covered in Your armor. Knowing that if I get nothing else done each day, I must spend it loving You and others first, as You love me. I must pray without ceasing through the Spirit for me and mine in fulfillment of Your will, and for those You place in my path. And whenever I speak, I must look to You, so words may be given to me, so that I can fearlessly make known the truth in the mystery of the gospel – one walk. In the name of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit, Amen.

So do not throw away your confidence; it will be richly rewarded. You need to persevere so that when you have done the will of God, you will receive what he has promised.

Abba Father through the Holy Spirit within me and in the name of Jesus Christ, I come to You so that You will create a pure heart, and renew a steadfast spirit within me. Preparing me for my one walk in and with You today, as a channel of Your peace and love in all situations with all people. Free of judgement and full of forgiveness and love. Staying strong in You and Your almighty power. (r or l) Putting on Your full armor. Remembering that if I get nothing else done this day, let me spend it loving You and others first, as You love me. Praying through the Spirit and in the name of Jesus on all occasions with all kinds of prayers and requests for me and mine in fulfillment of Your will. Being alert to always praying for those You place in my path. Asking that whenever I speak, words may be given to me, so that I will fearlessly make known the truth in the mystery of the gospel – one walk. In the name of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit, Amen.
