Words of Jesus

All things have been delivered to me by my Father; and no one knows the Son except the Father, and no one knows the Father except the Son and any one to whom the Son chooses to reveal him.

Come to me, all who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you, and learn from me; for I am gentle and lowly in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light."

Matthew 11:27, 28-30

God said: I have placed you in the midst of your fellows so that you may do to them what you cannot do to Me – that is, so that you may love your neighbor freely without expecting any return from him. And what you do to him I count it done to Me.

— St Catherine of Siena

Abba, Father, Lord God, O Lord that I would be blessed enough to walk in Your grace and mercy so that I will feel the love so that I can be love this day. That You would reveal Your will guiding and providing me with what I need to feel and be this for You today. In the name of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit, Amen.

Words of Jesus

And Jesus came and said to them, "All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you; and lo, I am with you always, to the close of the age."

Matthew 28:16-20

What, then, does God watch with pleasure and delight? The man that is fighting for Him against riches, against the world, against hell, against himself.

— St Louis de Montfort

Abba, Father, Lord God, thank you for yesterday, for guiding me as I searched my soul to the root of who I am; as a child of God, You the Source of Source, a believer in and a disciple of Jesus Christ who together with You live in me through the Holy Spirit to help me grow in You and You in me, and a son of Anna and Joseph, brother to Ralph, Elisa Aurora and Rosemarie, husband to Ana and father to Kelly Alia and Richard Thomas. For I could not look at myself without You, but in You through Jesus I can and I can feel, and in feeling love. There is so much I do not know and may never understand, but I feel this, that just as with You in Jesus through the Spirit there needs to be less of me and You and Jesus, and so it is with Mom, Dad, Ralph, Aurora, Rosie, Annie, Kelly, Ricki and all those You bless me with; I need to feel love before I can be love and feeling love means dying to myself. O Lord grant me a discerning heart, guide me through this that I seek for You know my heart and what is best. In the name of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit, Amen.

Words of Jesus
"If you love me, you will keep my commandments.  And I will pray the Father, and he will give you another Counselor, to be with you forever, even the Spirit of truth, whom the world cannot receive, because it neither sees him nor knows him; you know him, for he dwells with you, and will be in you.  "I will not leave you desolate; I will come to you.
Yet a little while, and the world will see me no more, but you will see me; because I live, you will live also.  In that day you will know that I am in my Father, and you in me, and I in you.  He who has my commandments and keeps them, he it is who loves me; and he who loves me will be loved by my Father, and I will love him and manifest myself to him."
John 14:15-21

A Christian is not his own master, since all his time belongs to God. Time takes no holidays.
— St Ignatius of Antioch

Abba, Father, Lord God, thank You for the words of St Peter today that remind me to ‘reverence Christ as Lord. Always be prepared to make a defense to anyone who calls you to account for the hope that is in you, yet do it with gentleness and reverence; and keep your conscience clear, so that, when you are abused, those who revile your good behavior in Christ may be put to shame. For it is better to suffer for doing right, if that should be God‘s will, than for doing wrong. For Christ also died for sins once for all, the righteous for the unrighteous, that he might bring us to God, being put to death in the flesh but made alive in the spirit’. Let these words stay with me as I seek new opportunities always serving to guide and always reminding me of the Words of Jesus ‘a servant is not greater than his master. So let my expectations and walk always be grounded in Jesus aware of the power of His presence in me, but knowing I am still in the world of which I am not. In the name of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit, Amen.

Words of Jesus
"If the world hates you, know that it has hated me before it hated you.  If you were of the world, the world would love its own; but because you are not of the world, but I chose you out of the world, therefore the world hates you.  Remember the word that I said to you, `A servant is not greater than his master.’ If they persecuted me, they will persecute you; if they kept my word, they will keep yours also.  But all this they will do to you on my account, because they do not know him who sent me.
John 15:18-21

You have got to love while your suffering and suffer while you’re loving.
— St John Vianney

Abba, Father, Lord God, in thankfulness for awareness of Your presence and companionship I come to You today. Looking back at yesterday and feeling ware and thinking when and how I communicated with You. A day filled with the busyness and frustrations under the sun that only serve to separate and distance me from You; but I resisted and kept bringing my thoughts to You. Always aware that in You through Jesus walking in the Spirit that I can find peace and contentment will dealing with the busyness and frustrations under the sun. Yet my thoughts also cause me to question what I do and do not do, am I doing the best and most with the gifts You have given me; so today I ask You to help me, give me a discerning heart and mind, focused on You, yet doing, doing to bring honor and glory to You for what You have done in me and with courage to compete in the under the sun and confidence to know that I do so conscious of Your presence with Jesus as my teacher always being in the Spirit. In the name of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit, Amen.

Words of Jesus

And he said to them, "Go into all the world and preach the gospel to the whole creation. He who believes and is baptized will be saved; but he who does not believe will be condemned.

Mark 16:15-16

For us to reach God, Christ is the way; but Christ is on the Cross, and to climb up to the Cross, we must have our hearts free, not tied to earthly things. For our Lord said, "Whoever of you does not renounce all that he has cannot be my disciple."

— St Josemaria Escriva

Abba, Father, Lord God, thankful, faithful, hopeful and seeking to love as You love me – unconditionally is how I wake today. Concerned but not anxious, aware but not worrying, and doubtful but not fearful is how I think; confident in Your will is how I feel. For I not what I am without You, and I feel what I am becoming in and with You; and it is the thought of being and walking without You that makes me anxious, worry and fearful. I do not, cannot and will not let go of Your hand and I will continue to pray and ask You bless me indeed and that You will enlarge my territory, and that Your hand would be with me and my love ones to keep us from evil and me from causing any pain; but most of all that Your will be done in and through me. For I know that everything under the sun passes away, but anything which is rooted in You will last and be passed on. So I stay focused on being open; listening, watching and preparing to do Your will. In the name of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit, Amen.

1 Peter 5:5-14<http://www.ewtn.com/vbible/search.asp?abbr=_1Pet&ch=5&bv1=5&ev1=14>

5 Likewise you that are younger be subject to the elders. Clothe yourselves, all of you, with humility toward one another, for "God opposes the proud, but gives grace to the humble." 6 Humble yourselves therefore under the mighty hand of God, that in due time he may exalt you. 7 Cast all your anxieties on him, for he cares about you. 8 Be sober, be watchful. Your adversary the devil prowls around like a roaring lion, seeking someone to devour. 9 Resist him, firm in your faith, knowing that the same experience of suffering is required of your brotherhood throughout the world. 10 And after you have suffered a little while, the God of all grace, who has called you to his eternal glory in Christ, will himself restore, establish, and strengthen you. 11 To him be the dominion forever and ever. Amen.

Words of Jesus

"And to the angel of the church in Philadelphia write: `The words of the holy one, the true one, who has the key of David, who opens and no one shall shut, who shuts and no one opens. "`I know your works. Behold, I have set before you an open door, which no one is able to shut; I know that you have but little power, and yet you have kept my word and have not denied my name. Because you have kept my word of patient endurance, I will keep you from the hour of trial which is coming on the whole world, to try those who dwell upon the earth. I am coming soon; hold fast what you have, so that no one may seize your crown. He who conquers, I will make him a pillar in the temple of my God; never shall he go out of it, and I will write on him the name of my God, and the name of the city of my God, the new Jerusalem which comes down from my God out of heaven, and my own new name.

Revelation 3:7-12

I am the good shepherd. The good shepherd lays down his life for the sheep. He who is a hireling and not a shepherd, whose own the sheep are not, sees the wolf coming and leaves the sheep and flees; and the wolf snatches them and scatters them. He flees because he is a hireling and cares nothing for the sheep. I am the good shepherd; I know my own and my own know me, as the Father knows me and I know the Father; and I lay down my life for the sheep. And I have other sheep, that are not of this fold; I must bring them also, and they will heed my voice. So there shall be one flock, one shepherd.

John 10:11-16

The very tradition, teaching, and faith of the Catholic Church from the beginning, which the Lord gave, was preached by the apostles and was preserved by the Fathers. On this was the Church founded, and if anyone departs from this, he neither is, nor any longer ought to be called, a Christian.

— St Athanasius

Abba, Father, Lord God, how thankful I start this day, though I stumble, I feel Your hand as I grasp it not to fall. So it is this feeling; the knowledge that what I see, hear and think is as real as the matter and vibrations that make them interpreted through the thought process which I apply that I wake with today. Aware that what I think and do each day becomes the thoughts I apply and that become this process of interpretation can be of my natural human being from under the sun in the selfish prideful weakness of the physical being; or of the source of source my spiritual being from above always seeking to abide in Jesus who overcame the things and ways under the sun by empting and dying in these ways and to these things to rise above finding true peace and joy in and with You. It is this awareness of feeling that convinces me I am one of Your sheep and the Lord Jesus is my Shepherd for I feel His Words and seek to abide in Him and Him in me knowing that it is only through and in Him that I can keep His patient endurance. For I truly know that without Him I can bear no fruit no matter what I have or obtain under the sun. So it is in Jesus name, the name Jesus that convicts everyone under the sun, the name Jesus that I ask You to help me walk by and in this feeling today and I pray that You would grasp the hands of those love ones You have blessed me with and along with Jesus act as a mirror for my soul, so that they too would feel this feeling. In the name of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit, Amen.

Words of Jesus

"I am the true vine, and my Father is the vinedresser. Every branch of mine that bears no fruit, he takes away, and every branch that does bear fruit he prunes, that it may bear more fruit. You are already made clean by the word which I have spoken to you. Abide in me, and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit by itself, unless it abides in the vine, neither can you, unless you abide in me. I am the vine, you are the branches. He who abides in me, and I in him, he it is that bears much fruit, for apart from me you can do nothing. If a man does not abide in me, he is cast forth as a branch and withers; and the branches are gathered, thrown into the fire and burned. If you abide in me, and my words abide in you, ask whatever you will, and it shall be done for you. By this my Father is glorified, that you bear much fruit, and so prove to be my disciples.

John15:1-8

Who loves God, finds pleasure in everything; who not loves God, finds no true pleasure in anything

— St Alphonsus Liguori

Abba, Father, Lord God, I try and hold the day back looking to start it with You, daily distractions and lack of discipline slow me down, but I am thankful for the seed You planted in my heart keeps reminding me I am best when I keep You first. So here I am fed be the living Words of Jesus, inspired and conscious of the Holy Spirit within me looking to You for knowledge and wisdom for today, always thankful for this day and all Your blessings which have brought me to this moment and always seeking Your will and direction. So let my mind be guided by my heart; a heart likened to the heart of Jesus, always connected and abiding so that I may bear fruit that is pleasing to You. In the name of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit, Amen.
