Words of Jesus

Peace I leave with you; my peace I give to you; not as the world gives do I give to you. Let not your hearts be troubled, neither let them be afraid.

John 14:27

Who can map out the various forces at play in one soul? Man is a great depth, O Lord. The hairs of his head are easier by far to count than his feeling, the movements of his heart.

— St Augustine

Abba, Father, Lord God, in thanks giving and praise I write You today, always thankful, always seeking and always looking. Thankful for the relationship that I have with You through Jesus Christ in the Holy Spirit; seeking You will and looking for Your calls. For as the Psalmist writes today 'Your kingdom is an everlasting kingdom, and Your dominion endures throughout all generations. You are faithful in all Your words, and gracious in all Your deeds'. I ask and pray that in some way I might serve to pass along the gifts that You have given me in this knowledge the world calls faith, and through this faith hope, and the fruit of faith and hope which is love; unconditional love. In the name of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit, Amen.

Words of Jesus

"Behold, I stand at the door and knock; if any one hears my voice and opens the door, I will come in to him and eat with him, and he with me. He who conquers, I will grant him to sit with me on my throne, as I myself conquered and sat down with my Father on his throne. He who has an ear, let him hear what the Spirit says to the churches."

Revelation 3:20-22

"And I tell you, Ask, and it will be given you; seek, and you will find; knock, and it will be opened to you.

For every one who asks receives, and he who seeks finds, and to him who knocks it will be opened. What father among you, if his son asks for a fish, will instead of a fish give him a serpent; or if he asks for an egg, will give him a scorpion? If you then, who are evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will the heavenly Father give the Holy Spirit to those who ask him!"

Luke 11:9-13

Always look forward and never look back.

— Bl. Junipero Serra

Abba, Father, Lord God, my heavenly Father I thank You for this moment where I can acknowledge all Your blessings and praise You for the living Words of Jesus that are my source of source each day. For I know that Jesus stood by me and kept knocking until I opened the door, and in and through Him I know I can come to You in His name in the Spirit each day to ask, seek and knock; but in this knowledge is feeling, and I feel like I must keep asking that You use me to help others hear Jesus knocking learn to seek His voice in the living Word as their source of source, and always look to You through Jesus in the Spirit for what to do and say confident that if we will knock You will help us open any door, Such simply words, that come to live when we practice them and only impact others the more we practice. So today as each day I ask Your help in seeking Jesus' presence by walking in the Spirit. In the name of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit, Amen.

Words about Jesus
To you therefore who believe, he is precious, but for those who do not believe, "The very stone which the builders rejected has become the head of the corner," and "A stone that will make men stumble, a rock that will make them fall"; for they stumble because they disobey the word, as they were destined to do. But you are a chosen race, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, God’s own people, that you may declare the wonderful deeds of him who called you out of darkness into his marvelous light.
1 Peter 2:7-9

Words of Jesus
Thomas said to him, "Lord, we do not know where you are going; how can we know the way?" Jesus said to him, "I am the way, and the truth, and the life; no one comes to the Father, but by me.

"Truly, truly, I say to you, he who believes in me will also do the works that I do; and greater works than these will he do, because I go to the Father.”
John 14:5-6, 12

Whatever, wherever I am, I can never be thrown away. If I am in sickness, my sickness may serve Him. He does nothing in vain. He may prolong my life, He may shorten it, He knows what He is about. He may make my spirits sink, hide the future from me, still He knows what He is about.
— John Henry Cardinal Newman

Abba, Father, Lord God, thank You for this day and these Words of enlightenment. For I have know the power that is in His name Jesus Christ; the name that when spoken convicts. And as Peter writes today, He has become the head corner stone that will make us stumble and fall because of our nature; but He is the one in whose name we can come to You in and with to ask and pray through the Spirit for the courage to speak it openly and the heart to do the works that He did. Give me courage Lord God, liken my heart to that of Jesus Christ my Lord and Savior. In the name of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit, Amen.

Words of Jesus

If you had known me, you would have known my Father also; henceforth you know him and have seen him." Philip said to him, "Lord, show us the Father, and we shall be satisfied." Jesus said to him, "Have I been with you so long, and yet you do not know me, Philip? He who has seen me has seen the Father; how can you say, `Show us the Father'? Do you not believe that I am in the Father and the Father in me? The words that I say to you I do not speak on my own authority; but the Father who dwells in me does his works. Believe me that I am in the Father and the Father in me; or else believe me for the sake of the works themselves. "Truly, truly, I say to you, he who believes in me will also do the works that I do; and greater works than these will he do, because I go to the Father. Whatever you ask in my name, I will do it, that the Father may be glorified in the Son; if you ask anything in my name, I will do it.

John 14:7-14

True detachment leads us to be very generous with God and with our fellow men. It makes us actively resourceful and ready to spend ourselves in helping the needy.

— St Josemaria Escriva

Abba, Father, Lord God, detach me from myself so that I maybe a true vehicle of Your work in me! Thankful as I am for all Your blessings and gifts; I am also shameful for having chosen the ways under the sun for so long. So now the work to be done is great and often difficult, but my faith in the words of Jesus, and hope in the Holy Spirit that lives within me, I look seek the Sacred Heart of Jesus whose love I know can help me over come myself. For blessed am I to feel and believe the Words of Jesus, knowing that His Spirit is alive within me, and that He is with You; and for feeling Your presence and seeing Your hand at work in so many things and way. These blessed feelings feed my hunger for You, and thirst for becoming what You meant me to be; while giving what I need to keep dying to myself and rising with Jesus. Knowing always that in my weakness, I will find His strength and in and through Him grow closer to You. So it has become as real and logical as anything I have learned under the sun this process of dying to myself. For even on the difficult days and in the sudden moments where I stumble I know that I can come talk to You and You will feed me and give me drink to get up and overcome myself by not letting me think too much about what is done and past, nor worry or grow anxious about what has not happened or the future. Just rest in the moment, through the Spirit until I can get up and walk; so with this said I ask and pray that You use me to give to others that which I ask from You. In the name of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit, Amen.

Words of Jesus

"Let not your hearts be troubled; believe in God, believe also in me. In my Father's house are many rooms; if it were not so, would I have told you that I go to prepare a place for you? And when I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again and will take you to myself, that where I am you may be also.

And you know the way where I am going." Thomas said to him, "Lord, we do not know where you are going; how can we know the way?" Jesus said to him, "I am the way, and the truth, and the life; no one comes to the Father, but by me."

John 14:1-6

The life of the desire for esteem and respect is to be well thought of by everyone; its death, therefore, is to hide ourselves so as not to be known, by means of continual acts of humility and self-abasement. Until one succeeds in dying in this manner, God will never be able to perfectly live within him.

— St Mary Magdalen de' Pazzi

Abba, Father, Lord God, You are my strength and my shield; in You my heart trusts! Through Jesus in the Holy Spirit I ask and pray that You will help and guide me as I continue to die to myself by embracing, not fighting humility; and always seeking to give, not receive by releasing all that I receive from You. In the name of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit, Amen.

Words of Jesus

Truly, truly, I say to you, a servant is not greater than his master; nor is he who is sent greater than he who sent him. If you know these things, blessed are you if you do them. I am not speaking of you all; I know whom I have chosen; it is that the scripture may be fulfilled, `He who ate my bread has lifted his heel against me.' I tell you this now, before it takes place, that when it does take place you may believe that I am he. Truly, truly, I say to you, he who receives any one whom I send receives me; and he who receives me receives him who sent me."

John 13:16-20

One who wishes to become holy ought not, except in a few cases, to excuse himself, although that for which he is blamed be not true. Jesus Christ acted as such. He heard Himself charged with evil which He had not done, but said not a word to free Himself from the disgrace.

— St Philip Neri

Abba, Father, Lord God, I watch and listen to Pope Benedict and recall the last years of Pope John Paul and I add this privilege to the blessings You have bestowed upon me. Not that as human beings they can be perfect and as such no church can be all that everyone wants given we are all different yet afflicted with the same nature, but for the awareness and experience of seeing Your hand at work within them as Your chosen Bishop for Your universal church. I think back to the sermons and few interactions with Pastor McCord and his words of knowledge and wisdom delivered so humbly and say, how blessed I feel that You would put men like this in my path, to light the way for me to come home to You through Jesus in the Spirit. O that You would use me as a light for others, not for the great reward that I would feel for having served You well, but for Your honor and glory, and for the knowledge that I was truly able to give the gift that I was given; the knowledge through faith, the courage with hope, and the humility in unconditional love which as lead me to where I am this moment, and every morning, here with You sharing myself, opening myself, dying to myself. In the name of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit, I ask and pray that as You, Jesus and the Holy Spirit are one, You will create in me oneness of faith, hope and love so that I too may walk in oneness with Your Spirit given to me through Jesus who You sent for me, us and the whole world. So for the sake of His sorrowful passion, have mercy on us and on the whole world, as Your will be done on this earth as it is in heaven. Amen.
