Abba, Father, Lord God, be merciful to me a sinner!

The Pharisee stood and prayed thus with himself, `God, I thank thee that I am not like other men, extortioners, unjust, adulterers, or even like this tax collector. I fast twice a week, I give tithes of all that I get.' But the tax collector, standing far off, would not even lift up his eyes to heaven, but beat his breast, saying, `God, be merciful to me a sinner!' I tell you, this man went down to his house justified rather than the other; for every one who exalts himself will be humbled, but he who humbles himself will be exalted."

Uri'ah the Hittite was slain also.

26 And he said, "The kingdom of God is as if a man should scatter seed upon the ground, 27 and should sleep and rise night and day, and the seed should sprout and grow, he knows not how. 28 The earth produces of itself, first the blade, then the ear, then the full grain in the ear. 29 But when the grain is ripe, at once he puts in the sickle, because the harvest has come." 30 And he said, "With what can we compare the kingdom of God, or what parable shall we use for it? 31 It is like a grain of mustard seed, which, when sown upon the ground, is the smallest of all the seeds on earth; 32 yet when it is sown it grows up and becomes the greatest of all shrubs, and puts forth large branches, so that the birds of the air can make nests in its shade." 33 With many such parables he spoke the word to them, as they were able to hear it; 34 he did not speak to them without a parable, but privately to his own disciples he explained everything.

Abba, Father, Lord God, O Lord I look back at this day and I see how You carried me, all I needed was to keep my eyes on and my faith in You; and You did the rest. Safely You took me here and brought me there, all the time I knew You were there with me. O how I pray that as Jesus spoke the light that is You within me is seen by those whose path I cross; that the image they see is that of Jesus, and in no way may I dare take any credit for what only You could have done. For You are my Lord God to which I humbly come and give thanks praying always with all supplication that You will continue to bless me, and help me light this light in my sons and daughters so that it maybe said the my house served the Lord. Abba, Father, Lord God, O how St. John speaks to me today and O how grateful I am to You because of Your love for me, my faith in Jesus and hope in the Spirit, I feel better than I was and see all I can be; knowing that the work You have begun in me will not stop until it is complete and I am ready to server You in heaven for eternity after learning how to seek, feel and do You will under the sun. For I know it is in and through the teachings of my Lord Jesus Christ that I will continue to find that which transform me into His image and liken my heart to His. Abba, Father, Lord God, O how St. John speaks to me today and O how grateful I am to You because of Your love for me, my faith in Jesus and hope in the Spirit, I feel better than I was and see all I can be; knowing that the work You have begun in me will not stop until it is complete and I am ready to server You in heaven for eternity after learning how to seek, feel and do You will under the sun.
