Abba, Father, Lord God, oh how easily the pre-dawn slips by and my thoughts of and time with You is stampeded by the days to dos, activities and happenstances. Then I spend the day feeling swept away, looking and reaching back to You; wanting that time, wishing I had shared that thought, unable to stop and share it with You. At the end of the day all I can do is say is a few Our Father’s and Hail Mary’s in hopes of closing my eyes in Your arms while listening to one of my audio books like the Case for the Real Jesus or the Confessions of Saint Augustine again hoping to fill the void that I have felt all day long, and looking forward to this moment. A new day, a new chance to start, walk and end my day with You. O Lord God that You would walk with me today, helping me to stand on my own in the light of Jesus through the Spirit for I know that while I felt alone and apart from You, the fact was You carried me through this day. In the name of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit, Amen.
 
1 John 2:22-28
22 Who is the liar but he who denies that Jesus is the Christ? This is the antichrist, he who denies the Father and the Son. 23 No one who denies the Son has the Father. He who confesses the Son has the Father also. 24 Let what you heard from the beginning abide in you. Abba, Father, Lord God, in today’s readings Paul writes of a key belief I hold true; that is that You have planted in the hearts of all the need to know, love and be with You. So I cry out as I do each day Abba, Father, ‘That I be free to enjoy You! Oh, that in and through You I would be able to ride high and soar above it all.’ That You would continue to bless me and enlarge my territory, that Your hand would be with me to keep me from evil and from causing pain. This I ask in the name of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit, Amen.

The light shines in the darkness, and the darkness has not overcome it. The true light that enlightens every man was coming into the world… For the law was given through Moses; grace and truth came through Jesus Christ.

Luke 12:49-50

In this day in which the Rich became poor for our sakes, let the rich man make the poor man share with him at his table. On this day came forth to us the Gift, even though we had not asked for it! Let us therefore bestow alms on those who cry and beg from us.

Abba, Father, Lord God, it is clear that to walk in the light I must walk hand and hand with Jesus; likening my heart to His. For He is the light and in and through Him there can be no darkness. So if I want to be in the light it can only be through and in Jesus. I must be willing to die to the darkness within me; for darkness is the absence of light, and darkness cannot exist where there is light; the light of obedience to natural laws of the universe, the light of never ending forgiveness, and the light unconditional love. So in Jesus there is only light and darkness can only exist if we walk without Jesus, Jesus in our mind and heart. O Lord God fill my spirit with Christ Jesus so that I will feel, see and walk in His light. In the name of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit, Amen.

22 And when the time came for their purification according to the law of Moses, they brought him up to Jerusalem to present him to the Lord 23 (as it is written in the law of the Lord, "Every male that opens the womb shall be called holy to the Lord") 24 and to offer a sacrifice according to what is said in the law of the Lord, "a pair of turtledoves, or two young pigeons." 25 Now there was a man in Jerusalem, whose name was Simeon, and this man was righteous and devout, looking for the consolation of Israel, and the Holy Spirit was upon him. 26 And it had been revealed to him by the Holy Spirit that he should not see death before he had seen the Lord's Christ. 27 And inspired by the Spirit he came into the temple; and when the parents brought in the child Jesus, to do for him according to the custom of the law, 28 he took him up in his arms and blessed God and said, 29 "Lord, now lettest thou thy servant depart in peace, according to thy word; 30 for mine eyes have seen thy salvation 31 which thou hast prepared in the presence of all peoples, 32 a light for revelation to the Gentiles, and for glory to thy people Israel." 33 And his father and his mother marveled at what was said about him; 34 and Simeon blessed them and said to Mary his mother, "Behold, this child is set for the fall and rising of many in Israel, and for a sign that is spoken against 35 (and a sword will pierce through your own soul also), that thoughts out of many hearts may be revealed."
