A special day to be thankful…

Today is my son’s 32nd birthday and Sunday is mine, I’ll be 66. I’ve worked for him at his landscaping and tree service company for what will be three years in July. The Lord God our Abba Father has blessed me in so many ways with this special relationship; physically to be able to do what needs to get done however long it takes, giving me the health to do it every day as many days as it takes each week, giving me enough patience understanding and wisdom to get me through each day, and faith hope and love when I don’t to endure and persevere through the power of prayer…

Our Father in heaven, Reveal who you are. Set the world right; Do what’s best— as above, so below. Keep us alive with three square meals. Keep us forgiven with you and forgiving others. Keep us safe from ourselves and the Devil. You’re in charge! You can do anything you want! You’re ablaze in beauty! Yes. Yes. Yes.

A prayer…

Dear Lord God, Abba Father, Jesus my Savior, thank You for my Ricki and for today and Your continued blessings. For all You bring my way throughout the day to keep me going and focused on You. Though the days are long and trying, Your sweet touch reminds me of my why, Your why, the bigger eternal picture. It’s in theses moments I get just enough wisdom and understanding to forget about me and focus on You and the one You place in front of me. Thank You.

In Jesus name I pray. Glory be to the Father and to the Son and to the Holy Ghost; as it was in the beginning is now and ever shall be, world without end. Amen.

A thought…

Twelve hour days are tough enough, but when the days go longer than that, and are filled with trials and surprises… well it’s easy to let your mind focus on the wrong thing… you. But in crying out to Jesus we can rejoice, find the right focus through prayer and truly give thanks in everything.

Always be joyful. Never stop praying. Be thankful in all circumstances, for this is God’s will for you who belong to Christ Jesus.

Dear Lord God, Abba Father, Jesus my Savior. Be with those victims of the tornado that struck Lee County Alabama Sunday. Welcome those now with You, and wrap Your arms around the survivors that have been injured and or lost their homes and more. Be with the first responders, protect and comfort them. Giving them the strength and courage to do what they have to do. Bless all those responding to support and help.

O that You would continue to bless me and mine, enlarging our territory for Your will and purposes, keeping us from evil and causing pain. Opening our eyes and hearts to Your presence in every moment. In all things good and bad. And to all those You place in a our path. Music is such a blessed gift from God. The right song makes such an impact on us. And when it’s about Jesus it has the power to change. Pop praise music is so positive and encouraging, it lifts you up. It’s all I listen to, but a good hymn is a penetrating and moving experience.
