On a Fruitful Life      

The fruit of people’s lives will reveal the life they have chosen to live.

You are the salt of the earth. But if the salt has lost its power to purify, flavor, and preserve, how can it be made salt again? It is worthless, except to be discarded and trampled underfoot.

Do you pick grapes from thorn bushes, or figs from among thistles? A healthy tree cannot produce unhealthy fruit; nor does a rotten tree produce healthy fruit. Likewise, every good tree produces good fruit, and every rotten tree produces rotten fruit. The unhealthy tree is cut down and used as wood for the fire.

Once, a man planted a fig tree within the walls of his vineyard. For three years he waited for it to bear fruit, but none came. At last he called the chief gardener: "Three years I have walked here, each year expecting to find fruit from this fig tree; and still it is barren. Why should it take up space on my grounds any longer? Cut it down."

To this, the gardener replied: "Give the tree one more season. I will fertilize its roots and give it special attention. Perhaps then, it will bear fruit. If not, you do right in cutting it down."

When your lives bear fruit, my Father is glorified, and you are become my true disciples. From a good life flows goodness from what is stored within; while an evil life produces only barrenness.

Lord God, Abba Father, to know You, to love You, and to serve You under the sun so I may be with You forever and ever. O Abba Father for the sake of His sorrowful passion have mercy on us and on the whole world. Comfort the sick, the poor in spirit, the abused, and the persecuted; help them to feel their way to You through, with and in Jesus Christ our Lord Savior. Remind them that this too shall pass, and to stand firm in their faith so when it does pass, regret will be minimal and joy will be great.

Hail Mary full grace, the Lord be with you, blessed are you among woman and blessed is the fruit of thy womb Jesus. Holy Mary, Mother of God, pray for us sinners, now and at the hour of our death. In the name of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit, Amen.

A Place for You

I go to prepare a place for you.

Know this: if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again, and take you to be there with me; so that where I am, there you may be also. Christ’s Prayer for His Disciples

As you have sent me into the world, so I send them. And for their sakes I consecrate myself, that they may be made holy, and grow in truth. I do not pray for these alone, but also for those who will come to believe in me because of the testimony that they give. Let them all be of one heart and mind, just as you and I are one: that as you are in me, and I in you, they will be together in us, and the world will know that you have sent me.

I have given them the glory that you gave me that they may be one, even as we are one: I in them, and you in me, being perfected into one. Because of this, the world will fully understand that you have sent me, and have loved them as much as you have loved me. May they one day be with me where I am, beholding my glory, which you have lovingly given me since the foundation of the world.

Christ’s Prayer for His Disciples

I am not praying for the world, but for those you have given me; for they truly are yours. All who have believed in me are yours; and they do honor me. I am returning to you in heaven; but those that believe in me remain behind. Father, keep them by the power of your name; that they all may be one, as we are one.

While I was with them in the world, I kept them by the power that you gave me, watching over them, so that not one was lost, except for the son of perdition, that the scriptures might be fulfilled. Soon I will be returning to you; so I am requesting these things while I am still in the world, that they might experience and receive the full revelation of what is theirs.

I have given them your word, and the world has hated them, because they are no longer children of this dark and dying place, even as I am not. Lord God, Abba Father, thankfully and humbly I ask and pray for the sake of His sorrowful passion have mercy on us and on the whole world; believers and non-believers. For while believers may look to You with eyes of doubt, fearful if they are worthy of salvation, questioning so many things under the sun, they look, they pray to You, for in and through it all they believe or want to believe. Where do the non-believers look to themselves, to the passing things under the sun; all are passing and fade away. Yet through the ages believers have had You, under the law those willing to make sacrifice follow Your commandments, under the new covenant brought to us in Jesus willing to sacrifice themselves in service of others. BY NOW YOU HAVE CERTAINLY FORGOTTEN THE FIVE LOAVES THAT FED THE FIVE THOUSAND WITH TWELVE BASKETS LEFT OVER, AND THE SEVEN LOAVES THAT FED THE FOUR THOUSAND AND THE PLENTY THAT REMAINED. BUT I AM NOT SPEAKING TO YOU ABOUT EARTHLY FOOD. NO, I HAVE COME TO WARN YOU AGAINST FEEDING ON THE IDEAS AND FALSE TEACHINGS OF THOSE WHO MARKET IN RELIGION. IN VAIN SUCH PEOPLE WORSHIP ME, TEACHING AS DOCTRINES WHAT ARE MERELY THE INVENTIONS OF MEN. PREOCCUPIED WITH THEIR OWN SUPERSTITIONS, THEY HAVE FORGOTTEN THE

COMMANDMENTS OF GOD.

Lord God, Abba Father, thankful and humbly I pray that You would continue to bless me and mine this day, through Your words and in our every thought we have today help us to find thankfulness in Jesus, enlarge our territory according to Your will, keeping us from evil and from causing any pain. Show us the realization of truth in the teachings of Jesus and the need for us to shake of the cares under the sun and replace them with the comfort and peace of Your presence, and to quiet our appetite for the desires of the flesh through and in Jesus’ teachings. Faith that Moves Mountains

According to your faith, so you will receive.

As you live your life invigorated by the breath of God, the conflicts of this earth will be overcome by heaven’s power: and whatever you allocate on earth will be that which is in accordance to heaven’s plan.

Do not be afraid any longer, but believe. Everything is possible to the one who believes.

Lord God, Abba Father, thankful for Your presence, humbled by my human being, I can only look to Jesus who in the Spirit lives within me to walk the narrow path that I find myself on as I seek You above all other things in Your universe; under the sun and in Your kingdom. I ask and pray for those like me who stumble because we take our eyes of faith off that which we say we seek first. For it only seems a lonely path when we think we are alone because those under the sun close to us do not meet the need that only You can. So I pray that You will help us step up, step out, and step above; up to Your promise, out of our limits, and above the ways under the sun. Let the oneness in the Spirit through Jesus with You be my only trust companion on this path, keeping my spirit awaken to the fruit of the spirit I wish to produce for You through mercy, kindness and gentle accepting, forgiving and living heart renewed in Jesus and likened to His. For I know that if I can maintain this state, all things will be according to Your will, which is that which I seek. In the name of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit, Amen.

Come and lay your hands on her, so that she may be made well, and live."  24  And he went with him. And a great crowd followed him and thronged about him.  25  And there was a woman who had had a flow of blood for twelve years,  26  and who had suffered much under many physicians, and had spent all that she had, and was no better but rather grew worse.  27  She had heard the reports about Jesus, and came up behind him in the crowd and touched his garment.  28  For she said, "If I touch even his garments, I shall be made well."  29  And immediately the hemorrhage ceased; and she felt in her body that she was healed of her disease.  30  And Jesus, perceiving in himself that power had gone forth from him, immediately turned about in the crowd, and said, "Who touched my garments?"  31  And his disciples said to him, "You see the crowd pressing around you, and yet you say, `Who touched me?’"  32  And he looked around to see who had done it.  33  But the woman, knowing what had been done to her, came in fear and trembling and fell down before him, and told him the whole truth.  34  And he said to her, "Daughter, your faith has made you well; go in peace, and be healed of your disease."  35  While he was still speaking, there came from the ruler’s house some who said, "Your daughter is dead. Why trouble the Teacher any further?"  36  But ignoring what they said, Jesus said to the ruler of the synagogue, "Do not fear, only believe."  

37  And he allowed no one to follow him except Peter and James and John the brother of James.  38  When they came to the house of the ruler of the synagogue, he saw a tumult, and people weeping and wailing loudly.  39  And when he had entered, he said to them, "Why do you make a tumult and weep? The child is not dead but sleeping."  40  And they laughed at him. But he put them all outside, and took the child’s father and mother and those who were with him, and went in where the child was.  41  Taking her by the hand he said to her, "Tal’itha cu’mi"; which means, "Little girl, I say to you, arise."  42  And immediately the girl got up and walked (she was twelve years of age), and they were immediately overcome with amazement.  43  And he strictly charged them that no one should know this, and told them to give her something to eat.

The Trial and the Cross

You have no power at all against me unless it is given to you from above.

Why do you prosecute me by these accusations? Interrogate those who heard me teach. They know very well the things I have said. I did not spread my message in secret, but spoke openly for the world to hear, teaching publicly in places of worship and the courtyards of the temple where my followers gathered.

If what I have said violates your laws, then give evidence of this. But if I have spoken the truth, then why do you strike me?

My kingdom is not of this world. If my kingdom were of this world, my followers would have taken up arms to defend it, that I should not be delivered into your hands. But mine is not an earthly kingdom. Yet you are right when you accuse me of being a king. To this end was I born, and for this purpose I came into the world: that I should be a witness to the truth. All who love the truth recognize my message. Now will the prince of this world be overthrown, and if I be lifted up from the earth, I will draw all people to me.

This above all is why my Father loves me; for I lay down my life willingly that I might take it up again. No man takes it from me, but I lay it down of my own free will. I have the power to lay it down; and I have the power to take it up again. The Father has given me this power.

Father, forgive them, for they know not what they do.

Lord God, Abba Father, thankful for Your blessings and today’s reading, humbled by the reality of my human condition. Your words clearly remind us all that when we are with and in You through Jesus in the Spirit who or what is there that we should fear? Nothing – for when we are in You through Jesus in the Spirit we feel Your presence and all doubt is washed away with our sins. In those moments we know that Jesus is the truth and the way. Then we do we allow ourselves to be fearful, to become doubtful? Like sin – little by little. By taking our focus off putting and keeping Your first and seeking the things under the sun we take our eyes, heart and mind off You; and at that moment stumble. When we stumble we are at our weakest because we are out of the moment with You, we are no longer feeling Your presence. So we must keep You first and offer our first fruits up to You! We must first seek Your kingdom, we must first seek the counsel of our Lord Jesus in everything, our first step, thought must always be in and with the Spirit where we are present and connect through Jesus with You. In the Name of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit I ask and pray that in Jesus name You help me focus on You first, and remember to bring my first fruits to You – in everything, in every way, Amen.

When he heard him, he was much perplexed; and yet he heard him gladly.  21  But an opportunity came when Herod on his birthday gave a banquet for his courtiers and officers and the leading men of Galilee.  22  For when Hero’di-as’ daughter came in and danced, she pleased Herod and his guests; and the king said to the girl, "Ask me for whatever you wish, and I will grant it."  23  And he vowed to her, "Whatever you ask me, I will give you, even half of my kingdom."  24  And she went out, and said to her mother, "What shall I ask?" And she said, "The head of John the baptizer."  25  And she came in immediately with haste to the king, and asked, saying, "I want you to give me at once the head of John the Baptist on a platter."  26  And the king was exceedingly sorry; but because of his oaths and his guests he did not want to break his word to her.  27  And immediately the king sent a soldier of the guard and gave orders to bring his head. He went and beheaded him in the prison,  28  and brought his head on a platter, and gave it to the girl; and the girl gave it to her mother.  29  When his disciples heard of it, they came and took his body, and laid it in a tomb.
