‘…when it comes to our own sin, we can struggle to take the focus off ourselves. Unfortunately, it is not hard for us to be self-centered, even with important aspects of the Christian life such as prayer requests and testimonies. Sometimes even thinking about our sin can be a way to bring the discussion back to ourselves. … let us always seek to see Your work in us!’
Abba Father in the name of Christ Jesus who lives within me through the Holy Spirit I pray that You create in me a clean heart, and renew a right spirit within me, for my one walk in and with Jesus today. Asking that You bless me and mine in fulfillment of Your will and keep us from evil and pain; and if we get nothing else done this day, let us spend it loving You and others as You love us. In the name of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit, Amen.

The Christian must keep in mind that the value of his good works depends on the love that motivates him to perform them for God. Those works are most perfect when wrought in the most sincere love of God, and with the least regard to present or future self-interest, joy, and sweetness, consolation and praise. — St. John of the Cross
Keep me mindful of this truth!
Abba Father in the name of Christ Jesus who lives within me through the Holy Spirit I pray that You create in me a clean heart, and renew a right spirit within me, for my one walk in and with Jesus today. Asking that You bless me and mine in fulfillment of Your will and keep us from evil and pain; and if we get nothing else done this day, let us spend it loving You and others as You love us. In the name of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit, Amen.

When I take my eyes off You, my heart becomes hardened by my petty selfishness and pride; only because of Your grace and mercy am I awakened, and able to refocus my eyes, mind and heart on You.

My Daily Prayers and Readings for 5/28/2011

I am so thankful for this week of blessings. I try to stay focused on You in each moment conscious of Your presence and that, that which is happening is of Your will. I work to let any question of reason be worked and in faith and through faith work to perfect Your image within me in service of others. It is not always easy, but the harder it gets, the more I turn to You. For as in prayer, I seek Your will, not to understand.
Abba Father in the name of Christ Jesus who lives within me through the Holy Spirit I pray that You create in me a clean heart, and renew a right spirit within me, for my one walk in and with Jesus today. Asking that You bless me and mine in fulfillment of Your will and keep us from evil and pain; and if we get nothing else done this day, let us spend it loving You and others as You love us. My Daily Prayers and Readings for 5/27/2011

Your Word is my compass, Jesus my guide through Him in the Holy Spirit I have all I need and need to know step by step with my eyes on my feet and not to far ahead; for I have found the further I look ahead to further I get away from Your will for me in the moment. So I take each moment as it is revealed and try to look to You for what to think, say or do; and if I do not feel You I wait. Help me not to wait in vain, and to feel with clarity.

As the waves of busyness, things to do and priorities start to build again and rolling in faster and faster, help keep me focus on You, my true and only source of source for all I have, all I am, and all I hope to be. Constantly remind of the truth, wisdom and lessons of Your word that guide my walk along the narrow path that I have chosen to become one with You.
