Words of Jesus

"And to the angel of the church in Philadelphia write: `The words of the holy one, the true one, who has the key of David, who opens and no one shall shut, who shuts and no one opens. "`I know your works. Behold, I have set before you an open door, which no one is able to shut; I know that you have but little power, and yet you have kept my word and have not denied my name. Because you have kept my word of patient endurance, I will keep you from the hour of trial which is coming on the whole world, to try those who dwell upon the earth. I am coming soon; hold fast what you have, so that no one may seize your crown. He who conquers, I will make him a pillar in the temple of my God; never shall he go out of it, and I will write on him the name of my God, and the name of the city of my God, the new Jerusalem which comes down from my God out of heaven, and my own new name.

Revelation 3:7-12

I am the good shepherd. The good shepherd lays down his life for the sheep. He who is a hireling and not a shepherd, whose own the sheep are not, sees the wolf coming and leaves the sheep and flees; and the wolf snatches them and scatters them. He flees because he is a hireling and cares nothing for the sheep. I am the good shepherd; I know my own and my own know me, as the Father knows me and I know the Father; and I lay down my life for the sheep. And I have other sheep, that are not of this fold; I must bring them also, and they will heed my voice. So there shall be one flock, one shepherd.

John 10:11-16

The very tradition, teaching, and faith of the Catholic Church from the beginning, which the Lord gave, was preached by the apostles and was preserved by the Fathers. On this was the Church founded, and if anyone departs from this, he neither is, nor any longer ought to be called, a Christian.

— St Athanasius

Abba, Father, Lord God, how thankful I start this day, though I stumble, I feel Your hand as I grasp it not to fall. So it is this feeling; the knowledge that what I see, hear and think is as real as the matter and vibrations that make them interpreted through the thought process which I apply that I wake with today. Aware that what I think and do each day becomes the thoughts I apply and that become this process of interpretation can be of my natural human being from under the sun in the selfish prideful weakness of the physical being; or of the source of source my spiritual being from above always seeking to abide in Jesus who overcame the things and ways under the sun by empting and dying in these ways and to these things to rise above finding true peace and joy in and with You. It is this awareness of feeling that convinces me I am one of Your sheep and the Lord Jesus is my Shepherd for I feel His Words and seek to abide in Him and Him in me knowing that it is only through and in Him that I can keep His patient endurance. For I truly know that without Him I can bear no fruit no matter what I have or obtain under the sun. So it is in Jesus name, the name Jesus that convicts everyone under the sun, the name Jesus that I ask You to help me walk by and in this feeling today and I pray that You would grasp the hands of those love ones You have blessed me with and along with Jesus act as a mirror for my soul, so that they too would feel this feeling. In the name of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit, Amen.

Words of Jesus

"I am the true vine, and my Father is the vinedresser. Every branch of mine that bears no fruit, he takes away, and every branch that does bear fruit he prunes, that it may bear more fruit. You are already made clean by the word which I have spoken to you. Abide in me, and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit by itself, unless it abides in the vine, neither can you, unless you abide in me. I am the vine, you are the branches. He who abides in me, and I in him, he it is that bears much fruit, for apart from me you can do nothing. If a man does not abide in me, he is cast forth as a branch and withers; and the branches are gathered, thrown into the fire and burned. If you abide in me, and my words abide in you, ask whatever you will, and it shall be done for you. By this my Father is glorified, that you bear much fruit, and so prove to be my disciples.

John15:1-8

Who loves God, finds pleasure in everything; who not loves God, finds no true pleasure in anything

— St Alphonsus Liguori

Abba, Father, Lord God, I try and hold the day back looking to start it with You, daily distractions and lack of discipline slow me down, but I am thankful for the seed You planted in my heart keeps reminding me I am best when I keep You first. So here I am fed be the living Words of Jesus, inspired and conscious of the Holy Spirit within me looking to You for knowledge and wisdom for today, always thankful for this day and all Your blessings which have brought me to this moment and always seeking Your will and direction. So let my mind be guided by my heart; a heart likened to the heart of Jesus, always connected and abiding so that I may bear fruit that is pleasing to You. In the name of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit, Amen.

Words of Jesus

Peace I leave with you; my peace I give to you; not as the world gives do I give to you. Let not your hearts be troubled, neither let them be afraid.

John 14:27

Who can map out the various forces at play in one soul? Man is a great depth, O Lord. The hairs of his head are easier by far to count than his feeling, the movements of his heart.

— St Augustine

Abba, Father, Lord God, in thanks giving and praise I write You today, always thankful, always seeking and always looking. Thankful for the relationship that I have with You through Jesus Christ in the Holy Spirit; seeking You will and looking for Your calls. For as the Psalmist writes today 'Your kingdom is an everlasting kingdom, and Your dominion endures throughout all generations. You are faithful in all Your words, and gracious in all Your deeds'. I ask and pray that in some way I might serve to pass along the gifts that You have given me in this knowledge the world calls faith, and through this faith hope, and the fruit of faith and hope which is love; unconditional love. In the name of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit, Amen.

Words of Jesus

"Behold, I stand at the door and knock; if any one hears my voice and opens the door, I will come in to him and eat with him, and he with me. He who conquers, I will grant him to sit with me on my throne, as I myself conquered and sat down with my Father on his throne. He who has an ear, let him hear what the Spirit says to the churches."

Revelation 3:20-22

"And I tell you, Ask, and it will be given you; seek, and you will find; knock, and it will be opened to you.

For every one who asks receives, and he who seeks finds, and to him who knocks it will be opened. What father among you, if his son asks for a fish, will instead of a fish give him a serpent; or if he asks for an egg, will give him a scorpion? If you then, who are evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will the heavenly Father give the Holy Spirit to those who ask him!"

Luke 11:9-13

Always look forward and never look back.

— Bl. Junipero Serra

Abba, Father, Lord God, my heavenly Father I thank You for this moment where I can acknowledge all Your blessings and praise You for the living Words of Jesus that are my source of source each day. For I know that Jesus stood by me and kept knocking until I opened the door, and in and through Him I know I can come to You in His name in the Spirit each day to ask, seek and knock; but in this knowledge is feeling, and I feel like I must keep asking that You use me to help others hear Jesus knocking learn to seek His voice in the living Word as their source of source, and always look to You through Jesus in the Spirit for what to do and say confident that if we will knock You will help us open any door, Such simply words, that come to live when we practice them and only impact others the more we practice. So today as each day I ask Your help in seeking Jesus' presence by walking in the Spirit. In the name of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit, Amen.

Words about Jesus
To you therefore who believe, he is precious, but for those who do not believe, "The very stone which the builders rejected has become the head of the corner," and "A stone that will make men stumble, a rock that will make them fall"; for they stumble because they disobey the word, as they were destined to do. But you are a chosen race, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, God’s own people, that you may declare the wonderful deeds of him who called you out of darkness into his marvelous light.
1 Peter 2:7-9

Words of Jesus
Thomas said to him, "Lord, we do not know where you are going; how can we know the way?" Jesus said to him, "I am the way, and the truth, and the life; no one comes to the Father, but by me.

"Truly, truly, I say to you, he who believes in me will also do the works that I do; and greater works than these will he do, because I go to the Father.”
John 14:5-6, 12

Whatever, wherever I am, I can never be thrown away. If I am in sickness, my sickness may serve Him. He does nothing in vain. He may prolong my life, He may shorten it, He knows what He is about. He may make my spirits sink, hide the future from me, still He knows what He is about.
— John Henry Cardinal Newman

Abba, Father, Lord God, thank You for this day and these Words of enlightenment. For I have know the power that is in His name Jesus Christ; the name that when spoken convicts. And as Peter writes today, He has become the head corner stone that will make us stumble and fall because of our nature; but He is the one in whose name we can come to You in and with to ask and pray through the Spirit for the courage to speak it openly and the heart to do the works that He did. Give me courage Lord God, liken my heart to that of Jesus Christ my Lord and Savior. In the name of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit, Amen.

Words of Jesus

If you had known me, you would have known my Father also; henceforth you know him and have seen him." Philip said to him, "Lord, show us the Father, and we shall be satisfied." Jesus said to him, "Have I been with you so long, and yet you do not know me, Philip? He who has seen me has seen the Father; how can you say, `Show us the Father'? Do you not believe that I am in the Father and the Father in me? The words that I say to you I do not speak on my own authority; but the Father who dwells in me does his works. Believe me that I am in the Father and the Father in me; or else believe me for the sake of the works themselves. "Truly, truly, I say to you, he who believes in me will also do the works that I do; and greater works than these will he do, because I go to the Father. Whatever you ask in my name, I will do it, that the Father may be glorified in the Son; if you ask anything in my name, I will do it.

John 14:7-14

True detachment leads us to be very generous with God and with our fellow men. It makes us actively resourceful and ready to spend ourselves in helping the needy.

— St Josemaria Escriva

Abba, Father, Lord God, detach me from myself so that I maybe a true vehicle of Your work in me! Thankful as I am for all Your blessings and gifts; I am also shameful for having chosen the ways under the sun for so long. So now the work to be done is great and often difficult, but my faith in the words of Jesus, and hope in the Holy Spirit that lives within me, I look seek the Sacred Heart of Jesus whose love I know can help me over come myself. For blessed am I to feel and believe the Words of Jesus, knowing that His Spirit is alive within me, and that He is with You; and for feeling Your presence and seeing Your hand at work in so many things and way. These blessed feelings feed my hunger for You, and thirst for becoming what You meant me to be; while giving what I need to keep dying to myself and rising with Jesus. Knowing always that in my weakness, I will find His strength and in and through Him grow closer to You. So it has become as real and logical as anything I have learned under the sun this process of dying to myself. For even on the difficult days and in the sudden moments where I stumble I know that I can come talk to You and You will feed me and give me drink to get up and overcome myself by not letting me think too much about what is done and past, nor worry or grow anxious about what has not happened or the future. Just rest in the moment, through the Spirit until I can get up and walk; so with this said I ask and pray that You use me to give to others that which I ask from You. In the name of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit, Amen.
