One Walk

My Daily Prayers and Readings for 02/29/2012

A song of ascents. I call on the LORD in my distress, and he answers me.

Abba Father it so easy to forget You are always with me, that in my weaknesses You make me strong and the only time I am fearful is when my mind is distracted from You and I allow myself to disconnect from You presence. Keep me connected, faithful, hopeful and loving; and that be visible to all to see. In the name of Christ Jesus who lives within me through the Holy Spirit I pray that You create in me a clean heart, and renew a right spirit within me, for my one walk in and with Jesus today. Make me a channel of Your peace, standing having girded my waist with truth, and having put on the breastplate of righteousness, and having shod my feet with the preparation of the gospel of peace; above all, taking the shield of faith with which I will be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked one. Always asking that You bless me and mine in fulfillment of Your will and keep us from evil and pain; reminding us that if we get nothing else done this day, let us spend it loving You and others first, as You love us. In the name of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit, Amen.

For the Spirit God gave us does not make us timid, but gives us power, love and self-discipline.

Abba Father I need Your wisdom and discipline. I need Your guidance. I want to You to be pleased with me. I want my life and leadership to reflect You. Speak to me today about my life, my leadership. Give me ears to hear Your voice and a spirit yielded to Your discipline. In the name of Christ Jesus who lives within me through the Holy Spirit I pray that You create in me a clean heart, and renew a right spirit within me, for my one walk in and with Jesus today. Make me a channel of Your peace, standing having girded my waist with truth, and having put on the breastplate of righteousness, and having shod my feet with the preparation of the gospel of peace; above all, taking the shield of faith with which I will be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked one. Dear children, let us not love with words or speech but with actions and in truth.

Always asking that You bless me and mine in fulfillment of Your will and keep us from evil and pain; reminding us that if we get nothing else done this day, let us spend it loving You and others first, as You love us. Do not those who plot evil go astray? But those who plan what is good find love and faithfulness.
