My Daily Prayers and Readings for 03/09/2012

He has saved us and called us to a holy life—not because of anything we have done but because of his own purpose and grace. This grace was given us in Christ Jesus before the beginning of time,

‘Jesus, thank You for a call that transcends every other call in life and that is simultaneously applicable to every situation in which I find myself. No matter what I am doing today, help me see my role in light of Your call to be a servant and make disciples. May I be found faithful, Lord.’ And when I stumble I pray that You create in me a clean heart, and renew a right spirit within me, for my one walk in and with You. Make me a channel of Your peace, standing having girded my waist with truth, and having put on the breastplate of righteousness, and having shod my feet with the preparation of the gospel of peace; above all, taking the shield of faith with which I will be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked one. Always asking that You bless me and mine in fulfillment of Your will and keep us from evil and pain; reminding us that if we get nothing else done this day, let us spend it loving You and others first, as You love us. In the name of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit, Amen.

My Daily Prayers and Readings for 03/08/2012

Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of compassion and the God of all comfort, who comforts us in all our troubles, so that we can comfort those in any trouble with the comfort we ourselves receive from God.

Abba Father through my son You used Your Son to change me. You raised me up and saved me from myself and had mercy on me, and blessed me with all anyone could ask for, a family that loves unconditionally. Thank you for my son, thank You for Your Son. Thank You for my wonderful family. Thank You! In the name of Christ Jesus who lives within me through the Holy Spirit I pray that You create in me a clean heart, and renew a right spirit within me, for my one walk in and with Jesus today. Search me, God, and know my heart; test me and know my anxious thoughts. See if there is any offensive way in me, and lead me in the way everlasting.

Abba Father ‘my Savior and my God, I fix my eyes on You. You hold the future securely in Your hand, and You invite me to follow You into the future You are creating. These commandments that I give you today are to be on your hearts. Impress them on your children. Talk about them when you sit at home and when you walk along the road, when you lie down and when you get up.

Abba Father ‘forgive me for putting my trust in things and people (including myself), and letting pride and fear drive me instead of humility and confidence in You. Sometimes I find myself unexpectedly relying on Your gifts instead of on Your presence and power. Like Jesus, I want my life to be a demonstration of a person who humbly and confidently trusts in You.’ In the name of Christ Jesus who lives within me through the Holy Spirit I pray that You create in me a clean heart, and renew a right spirit within me, for my one walk in and with Jesus today.
