One Walk

My Daily Prayers and Readings for 04/08/2012

For if, while we were God’s enemies, we were reconciled to him through the death of his Son, how much more, having been reconciled, shall we be saved through his life!

Abba Father today is the day You have made for us. I worship and praise You, giving thanks for each and every blessing in my life, my family and most of all for Jesus Christ, Who lives within me through the Holy Spirit. In His name I pray that You create in me a clean heart, and renew a right spirit within me, for my one walk in and with Jesus today. Make me a channel of Your peace and this day a new beginning for me and mine. Standing having girded our waist with truth, and having put on the breastplate of righteousness, and having shod our feet with the preparation of the gospel of peace; above all, taking the shield of faith with which we will be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked one. Always asking that You bless us in fulfillment of Your will and keep us from evil and pain; reminding us that if we get nothing else done this day, let us spend it loving You and others first, as You love us. In the name of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit, Amen.

My Daily Prayers and Readings for 04/07/2012

I have been crucified with Christ and I no longer live, but Christ lives in me. The life I now live in the body, I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me.

Abba Father I draw hope from Gideon’s story. Even when Your people’s distress came from disobedience, You were willing to save them. You called Gideon to move from hopeless resignation to faith-based action. Let Gideon be my example, as I move forward in the strength I have, as You send me in Jesus’ name. In the name of Christ Jesus who lives within me through the Holy Spirit I pray that You create in me a clean heart, and renew a right spirit within me, for my one walk in and with Jesus. This is how we know what love is: Jesus Christ laid down his life for us. And we ought to lay down our lives for our brothers and sisters.

Abba Father in the name of Christ Jesus who lives within me through the Holy Spirit I pray for forgiveness and that You create in me a clean heart, and renew a right spirit within me, for my one walk in and with Jesus today. Help to keep my mind and thought above the sun on the Son and what He endured today for me. Make me a channel of His peace, standing having girded my waist with truth, and having put on the breastplate of righteousness, and having shod my feet with the preparation of the gospel of peace; above all, taking the shield of faith with which I will be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked one. Always asking that You bless me and mine in fulfillment of Your will and keep us from evil and pain; reminding us that if we get nothing else done this day, let us spend it loving You and others first, as You love us. For Christ’s love compels us, because we are convinced that one died for all, and therefore all died. And he died for all, that those who live should no longer live for themselves but for him who died for them and was raised again.

Abba Father ‘let the reality of Your redemption and forgiveness flood my soul. Let the riches of God’s grace overwhelm me. Let Your passion for all people come alive within me, and give me opportunities to pass on the hope I have found in You. [Jesus Predicts His Death a Third Time] Now Jesus was going up to Jerusalem. On the way, he took the Twelve aside and said to them, “We are going up to Jerusalem, and the Son of Man will be delivered over to the chief priests and the teachers of the law. They will condemn him to death and will hand him over to the Gentiles to be mocked and flogged and crucified. On the third day he will be raised to life!”

Abba Father I admit my sinful and selfish ways. I look to You for forgiveness and healing. Thank You for Your mercies. I need Your power to change — in the name of Christ Jesus who lives within me through the Holy Spirit I pray that You create in me a clean heart, and renew a right spirit within me, for my one walk in and with Jesus today.
