One Walk

My Daily Prayers and Readings for 08/11/2012

I rejoice in following your statutes as one rejoices in great riches.

Abba Father to rejoice in that day to day beauty of life under the sun and to give thanks for each blessing isn’t always so easy. We are so quick to forget what we have, if we focus too much on want we want or feel we need. Staying conscious in the now of the moment takes effort and practice. We must only hold on to You, letting everything else, so our joy in You flows through us, just as Your mercy and grace flows down on us. We must return to a state pure in heart, and with a steadfast spirit if we are to be channels of Your peace and love. Our joy in and through all things must reflect Your presence. To do this I know I must stand having girded my waist with truth, and having put on the breastplate of righteousness, and having shod my feet with the preparation of the gospel of peace; above all, taking the shield of faith with which I will be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked one. Always asking that You bless me and mine in fulfillment of Your will and keep us from evil and pain; reminding us that if we get nothing else done this day, let us spend it loving You and others first, as You love us. In the name of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit, Amen.

My Daily Prayers and Readings for 08/10/2012

A man with leprosy came to him and begged him on his knees, “If you are willing, you can make me clean.” Jesus was indignant. He reached out his hand and touched the man. “I am willing,” he said. “Be clean!” Immediately the leprosy left him and he was cleansed.

‘Jesus, thank You for being willing to meet me in my need just as You met the leper in his need. Your willingness to heal, to forgive, to cleanse, and to restore reveals the Father’s heart. Give me a willing heart so that I, too, can serve people at their point of need.’ I pray that You create in me a pure heart, and renew a steadfast spirit within me, for my one walk in and with You today. Make me a channel of Your peace and love, standing having girded my waist with truth, and having put on the breastplate of righteousness, and having shod my feet with the preparation of the gospel of peace; above all, taking the shield of faith with which I will be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked one. Always asking that You bless me and mine in fulfillment of Your will and keep us from evil and pain; reminding us that if we get nothing else done this day, let us spend it loving You and others first, as You love us. Are not five sparrows sold for two pennies? Yet not one of them is forgotten by God. Indeed, the very hairs of your head are all numbered. Don’t be afraid; you are worth more than many sparrows.

Abba Father with eyes of faith and in the name of Christ Jesus who lives within me through the Holy Spirit I pray that You create in me a pure heart, and renew a steadfast spirit within me, for my one walk in and with Jesus today. Make me a channel of Your peace and love, standing having girded my waist with truth, and having put on the breastplate of righteousness, and having shod my feet with the preparation of the gospel of peace; above all, taking the shield of faith with which I will be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked one. Always asking that You bless me and mine in fulfillment of Your will and keep us from evil and pain; reminding us that if we get nothing else done this day, let us spend it loving You and others first, as You love us. For the LORD takes delight in his people; he crowns the humble with victory.

Abba Father while the days get busy and I lose control of my time to sit one on one with You, I keep my mind and heart on You. I cry out in short burst of love, gratitude, fear or anxiousness; or just to ask for Your help and blessings. I practice Your presence and I always ask in the name of Christ Jesus who lives within me through the Holy Spirit that You create in me a pure heart, and renew a steadfast spirit within me. For I seek one walk in and with Jesus, to be a channel of Your peace and love, standing having girded my waist with truth, and having put on the breastplate of righteousness, and having shod my feet with the preparation of the gospel of peace; above all, taking the shield of faith with which I will be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked one. Always asking that You bless me and mine in fulfillment of Your will and keep us from evil and pain; reminding us that if we get nothing else done this day, let us spend it loving You and others first, as You love us. In the name of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit, Amen.

For the LORD is our judge, the LORD is our lawgiver, the LORD is our king; it is he who will save us.

Abba Father only You can save me from myself and keep me on the narrow path back home to You. Your words are truth, Your laws firm. Only You are able to judge us under the sun. So in the name of Christ Jesus who lives within me through the Holy Spirit I pray that You create in me a pure heart, and renew a steadfast spirit within me, for my one walk in and with Jesus. Help me to be a channel of Your peace and love, always standing having girded my waist with truth, and having put on the breastplate of righteousness, and having shod my feet with the preparation of the gospel of peace; above all, taking the shield of faith with which I will be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked one. Always asking that You bless me and mine in fulfillment of Your will and keep us from evil and pain; reminding us that if we get nothing else done this day, let us spend it loving You and others first, as You love us. Abba Father I keep my thoughts on You and my mind on what I know are Your truths. Always asking in the name of Christ Jesus who lives within me through the Holy Spirit that You create in me a pure heart, and renew a steadfast spirit within me, for my one walk in and with Jesus. Remind me to keep my thoughts on the needs of others and not mine. Make me a channel of Your peace and love. Help me to stand having girded my waist with truth, and having put on the breastplate of righteousness, and having shod my feet with the preparation of the gospel of peace; above all, taking the shield of faith with which I will be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked one. Always asking that You bless me and mine in fulfillment of Your will and keep us from evil and pain; reminding us that if we get nothing else done this day, let us spend it loving You and others first, as You love us. The unfolding of your words gives light; it gives understanding to the simple.

Abba Father Your words are truth, but a state of grace is needed and one must maintain a confident  humble and merciful heart and spirit. It sounds like a contradiction and just maybe one under the sun. How can one be confident and humble; and how does merciful fit in. Well under the sun it is because we tend to rely on what we see and feel. But in and with the Son all things are possible. If we rely  on Him, see through eyes of faith, and feel by likening our hearts to His; everything is different. We must start each day asking in His name, the name of Christ Jesus who lives within each of us, through the Holy Spirit that You create in us a pure heart, and renew a steadfast spirit within us, for our one walk in and with Him. Be a channel of Your peace and love, always standing having girded our waist with truth, and having put on the breastplate of righteousness, and having shod our feet with the preparation of the gospel of peace; above all, taking the shield of faith with which I will be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked one. Asking that You bless us in fulfillment of Your will and keep us from evil and pain; reminding us that if we get nothing else done this day, let us spend it loving You and others first, as You love us. In the name of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit, Amen.
