“They asked each other, “Were not our hearts burning within us while he talked with us on the road and opened the Scriptures to us?” Luke 24:32

November 23, 2019

One Walk with Jesus is knowing you’re in the world, but not of the world… so find where your heart is burning. Go there. Meet Jesus there. He’s already waiting for you.

Prayer of Examen
The Prayer of Examen is a spiritual practice of reviewing the day to retune ourselves to the sacred in ordinary life. Usually lasting 15–20 minutes and done in the evening, the prayer prompts us to remember God’s presence, express gratitude, reflect on the day, and prepare for the day to come.

Jesus Calling…

Beloved, even when your thoughts are scrambled, you can indeed look to Me for help.
from Dear Jesus page 64

O LORD you have searched me and you know me. You know when I sit and when I rise; you perceive my thoughts from afar.

2 Timothy 1:10
Our Savior Jesus Christ has destroyed death
and brought life to light through the Gospel.

Luke 20:27-40
Jesus said to them,
“The children of this age marry and remarry;
but those who are deemed worthy to attain to the coming age
and to the resurrection of the dead
neither marry nor are given in marriage.
They can no longer die,
for they are like angels;
and they are the children of God
because they are the ones who will rise.

A prayer…

Dear God, my Abba Father, Lord Jesus my Savior, thank You for this new day. A day to use reflection of yesterday to love and serve You and others better. Better through more… more grace, more mercy, more love, more forgiveness. Full of hope and faith. So we pray.
God of all love and self-revelation, we come to you tired, worn out, with fractured fatigue deep in our bones and fissures deep in our souls. We ask that your eyes of compassion would search into the deep, vulnerable, and burning places of our hearts those things that are burdensome and hurt our hearts. Reach in with your strength. Offer us your yoke. Carry our burdens. Where are you, Jesus? Even and especially when we don’t see you, reveal yourself to us in these points of pain. Grant us peace.
Hear our prayers for our love ones, the lost ones, the needy ones, the suffering ones, the poor ones and Your Church and our Country.
In Jesus name I pray. Glory be to the Father and to the Son and to the Holy Ghost; as it was in the beginning is now and ever shall be, world without end. Amen.

Today’s prayer is from today’s devotion

Lords Prayer

Our Father, Who art in Heaven, hallowed be Thy name; Thy Kingdom come, Thy will be done on earth as it is in Heaven. Give us this day our daily bread; and forgive us our trespasses as we forgive those who trespass against us; and lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil.
Amen.

Hail Mary

Hail Mary full of Grace, the Lord is with thee. Blessed are thou among women and blessed is the fruit of thy womb Jesus.
Holy Mary Mother of God, pray for us sinners now and at the hour of our death.
Amen.

O my Jesus

O my Jesus, have mercy on us. Forgive us our sins. Save us from the fires of hell. Take all souls into heaven, especially, those most in need of thy mercy.
Amen.

Nicene Creed

I believe in one God, the Father almighty, maker of heaven and earth, of all things visible and invisible.
I believe in one Lord Jesus Christ, the Only Begotten Son of God, born of the Father before all ages. God from God, Light from Light, true God from true God, begotten, not made, consubstantial with the Father; through him all things were made. For us men and for our salvation he came down from heaven,
and by the Holy Spirit was incarnate of the Virgin Mary, and became man.
For our sake he was crucified under Pontius Pilate, he suffered death and was buried, and rose again on the third day in accordance with the Scriptures. He ascended into heaven and is seated at the right hand of the Father. He will come again in glory to judge the living and the dead and his kingdom will have no end.
I believe in the Holy Spirit, the Lord, the giver of life, who proceeds from the Father and the Son, who with the Father and the Son is adored and glorified, who has spoken through the prophets.
I believe in one, holy, catholic and apostolic Church. I confess one Baptism for the forgiveness of sins and I look forward to the resurrection of the dead and the life of the world to come.
Amen.
