My Daily Prayers and Readings for 09/19/2013

Fear God and keep his commandments, for this is the duty of all mankind.

< >< My Prayer >< >

Abba Father in today’s devotion 1 I am taken to the end of Ecclesiastes 2 and once again reflect on all the wisdom in Solomon’s words about life under the sun. I cannot help but to also reflect on the Words of Jesus and life under the sun with the Son. And I meditate on my and mines walk under the sun. For You know I only seek to awaken mine to Jesus and in Jesus the treasures hidden in a relationship with You in the Holy Spirit. Hoping the sooner the better, but knowing it is not up to me. All I can do is keep coming to You so that You keep creating a pure heart, and steadfast spirit within me. Freeing me of any judgement and filling me of forgiveness and love. Putting on Your full armor and staying strong in You and Your almighty power. (r or l)  Remembering that if I get nothing else done this day, I must first spend it loving You and others first, as You love me. And keep praying without ceasing for me and mine in fulfillment of Your will and for those You place in my path. Always practicing consciousness in the now of the moment so that whenever I speak, words may be given to me by You, so that I will fearlessly make known the truth in the mystery of the gospel – one walk. In the name of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit, Amen.

My Daily Prayers and Readings for 09/15/2013

And so we know and rely on the love God has for us. God is love. Whoever lives in love lives in God, and God in them.

< >< My Prayer >< >

Lord God, You are love, and to be one with You I must walk in and with love. This means I must give what I get from You. Staying connected so that I become nothing more than a channel of Your love; receiving and giving. Dying to myself whenever I get in the way of giving what I am receiving from You. Coming to You as often as I must, so that You can create a pure heart, and renew a steadfast spirit within me. Emptying myself of judgement and filling myself with forgiveness and love. Strong in You and Your almighty power, covered in Your armor. (r or l)  Knowing that if I get nothing else done this day, I must spend it loving You and others first, as You love me. Praying without ceasing for me and mine in fulfillment of Your will, and for those You place in my path. Asking that whenever I speak, words may be given to me, so that I will fearlessly make known the truth in the mystery of the gospel – one walk. My Daily Prayers and Readings for 08/18/2013

For to me, to live is Christ and to die is gain.

< >< My Prayer >< >

Abba Father through Jesus Christ and the Holy Spirit within me, I come to You so that You will create a pure heart, and renew a steadfast spirit within me. Dying to myself; regret by regret, hurt by hurt and thorn by thorn. Free of judgement and full of forgiveness and love. Staying conscious in the now of the moment and strong in You and Your almighty power; (r or l)  my Source of Source. Remembering that if I get nothing else done, let me spend it loving You and others first, as You love me. Praying on all occasions for me and mine in fulfillment of Your will. Being alert to always praying for those You place in my path. Asking that whenever I speak, words may be given to me, so that I will fearlessly make known the truth in the mystery of the gospel – one walk with Jesus. In the name of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit, Amen.

Whoever claims to love God yet hates a brother or sister is a liar. For whoever does not love their brother and sister, whom they have seen, cannot love God, whom they have not seen. And he has given us this command: Anyone who loves God must also love their brother and sister.

January 14, 2011

My Daily Prayers and Readings for 1/14/2011

< >< My Prayer >< >

To love, to forgive, to serve – unconditionally; my Lord Jesus tells me so. He tells me of all Your commandments loving as I love myself (want to be loved) is most important. This is so often not so easy, for in the world under the sun it’s all about me, the opposite of what Jesus is telling me. This also means I must be willing to give and give, just as I must forgive and forgive, for to serve unconditionally I must be able to love and forgive again and again my brother and sister. But who is my brother and sister, but the ones who also seek to follow the teachings of my Lord Jesus in peace. And what about those who don’t; well I must learn to love and forgive them to, but know when to shake off the dust from feet and move on always praying and trusting that through my Lord You will guide my steps wisely and put my feet on solid ground,

Abba Father in the name of Christ Jesus who lives within me through the Holy Spirit I pray that You create in me a clean heart, and renew a right spirit within me, for my one walk in and with Jesus today. Asking that You bless me and mine in fulfillment of Your will and keep us from evil and pain; and if we get nothing else done this day, let us spend it loving You and others as You love us. In the name of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit, Amen.

CALLED OF GOD

“Whom shall I send, and who will go for us? Then said I, Here am I; send me.” Isaiah 6:8

God did not address the call to Isaiah; Isaiah overheard God saying, “Who will go for us?” The call of God is not for the special few, it is for everyone. Whether or not I hear God’s call depends upon the state of my ears; and what I hear depends upon my disposition. “Many are called but few are chosen,” that is, few prove themselves the chosen ones. The chosen ones are those who have come into a relationship with God through Jesus Christ whereby their disposition has been altered and their ears unstopped, and they hear the still small voice questioning all the time, “Who will go for us?” It is not a question of God singling out a man and saying, “Now, you go.” God did not lay a strong compulsion on Isaiah; Isaiah was in the presence of God and he overheard the call, and realized that there was nothing else for him but to say, in conscious freedom, “Here am I, send me.” Get out of your mind the idea of expecting God to come with compulsions and pleadings. When our Lord called His disciples there was no irresistible compulsion from outside. The quiet passionate insistence of His “Follow Me” was spoken to men with every power wide awake. If we let the Spirit of God bring us face to face with God, we too shall hear something akin to what Isaiah heard, the still small voice of God; and in perfect freedom will say, “Here am I; send me.”

For we live by faith, not by sight.

December 21, 2010

My Daily Prayers and Readings for 12/21/2010

< >< My Prayer >< >

Living by faith is a patient, trusting, learning, guarding and balancing life style that must be practiced in the now of each moment; nurturing and nourishing a healthy spirit just as one would feed and exercise a healthy body.

Abba Father in the name of Christ Jesus who lives within me through the Holy Spirit I pray that You create in me a clean heart, and renew a right spirit within me, for my one walk in and with Jesus today. Asking that You bless me and mine in fulfillment of Your will and keep us from evil and pain. In the name of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit, Amen.

< >< Today’s Jesus Calling Daily Devotion >< >

December – “For to us a child is born… And he will be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.” ISAIAH 9:6

Today – MY PLAN FOR YOUR LIFE is unfolding before you. Sometimes the road you are traveling seems blocked, or it opens up so painfully slowly that you must hold yourself back. Then, when time is right, the way before you suddenly clears—through no effort of your own. What you have longed for and worked for I present to you freely, as pure gift. You feel awed by the ease with which I operate in the world, and you glimpse My Power and My Glory.

Do not fear your weakness, for it is the stage on which My Power and Glory perform most brilliantly. As you persevere along the path I have prepared for you, depending on My strength to sustain you, expect to see miracles—and you will. Miracles are not always visible to the naked eye, but those who live by faith can see them clearly. Living by faith, rather than sight, enables you to see My Glory.

The Church herself is a field, within which seeds and weeds, the good and the wicked, grow together, a place where there is room to grow, to be converted and above all to imitate God’s patience…

March 6, 2010

My Daily Prayers and Readings for 03/06/2010

< >< My Daily Prayer >< >

Abba Father, Lord Jesus, in the Spirit, one God the Abba Father, Christ Jesus the Son and the Holy Spirit.

Unconditional love is love perfected; seems easy full of righteousness in those moments when we feel it from You, but giving it Is a path of continuous death to self and loneliness which can only be walked with Jesus by ones side. For perfect love the love we feel in the Spirit through the Son from the Abba Father is something we rarely if ever feel under the sun, for under the sun there are often if not always hidden motives natural to the human condition; thus just as through Jesus we are made presentable to You Lord God, only through Jesus can we be made ready to offer unconditional love. Readied means giving what we receive, and since our only source of unconditional love is in the Spirit through Jesus from You our Abba Father, we must stay focused and connected in and through Jesus.

Unconditional love is also love practiced; just as we must always practice the presence of Jesus, we must always accept and be ready to practice unconditional love. Accepting that in this too, we will stumble and fall, but always be ready through Jesus cleanse our heart and renew a right spirit within to keep at it, practicing it always as we practice Your presence.

Unconditional love is truly the fruit of the Spirit; full of faith in Jesus, and hope that our stumbles and falls will be few. Herein lays a key exercise we must make part of our practice – forgiveness; forgiveness of self for stumbling or falling, to give forgiveness to others we seek to love unconditionally.

In Jesus name I ask and pray, that You bless me and mine for fulfillment of Your will and that You create in me a clean heart, renew a right spirit within me, for one walk; in the name of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit, Amen.

March – When he has brought out all his own, he goes on ahead of them, and his sheep follow him because they know his voice. John 10:4

Today – CONTINUE ON THIS PATH WITH ME, enjoying My Presence even in adversity. I am always before you, as well as alongside you. See Me beckoning to you: Come! Follow Me. The One who goes ahead of you, opening up the way, is the same One who stays close and never lets go of your hand. [ am not subject to limitations of time or space. I am everywhere at every time, ceaselessly working on your behalf. That is why your best efforts are trusting Me and living close to Me.

Reading I
Mi 7:14-15, 18-20

Shepherd your people with your staff,
the flock of your inheritance,
That dwells apart in a woodland,
in the midst of Carmel.
Let them feed in Bashan and Gilead,
as in the days of old;
As in the days when you came from the land of Egypt,
show us wonderful signs.

Who is there like you, the God who removes guilt
and pardons sin for the remnant of his inheritance;
Who does not persist in anger forever,
but delights rather in clemency,
And will again have compassion on us,
treading underfoot our guilt?
You will cast into the depths of the sea all our sins;
You will show faithfulness to Jacob,
and grace to Abraham,
As you have sworn to our fathers

from days of old.

Responsorial Psalm
:1-2, 3-4, 9-10, 11-12
R.        (8a)  The Lord is kind and merciful.
Bless the LORD, O my soul;
and all my being, bless his holy name.
Bless the LORD, O my soul,
and forget not all his benefits.
R.
The Lord is kind and merciful.
He pardons all your iniquities,
he heals all your ills.
He redeems your life from destruction,
he crowns you with kindness and compassion.
R.
The Lord is kind and merciful.
He will not always chide,
nor does he keep his wrath forever.
Not according to our sins does he deal with us,
nor does he requite us according to our crimes.
R.
The Lord is kind and merciful.
For as the heavens are high above the earth,
so surpassing is his kindness toward those who fear him.
As far as the east is from the west,
so far has he put our transgressions from us.

R.        The Lord is kind and merciful.

Gospel
Lk 15:1-3, 11-32

Tax collectors and sinners were all drawing near to listen to Jesus,
but the Pharisees and scribes began to complain, saying,
“This man welcomes sinners and eats with them.”
So to them Jesus addressed this parable.
“A man had two sons, and the younger son said to his father,
‘Father, give me the share of your estate that should come to me.’
So the father divided the property between them.
After a few days, the younger son collected all his belongings
and set off to a distant country
where he squandered his inheritance on a life of dissipation.
When he had freely spent everything,
a severe famine struck that country,
and he found himself in dire need.
So he hired himself out to one of the local citizens
who sent him to his farm to tend the swine.
And he longed to eat his fill of the pods on which the swine fed,
but nobody gave him any.
Coming to his senses he thought,
‘How many of my father’s hired workers
have more than enough food to eat,
but here am I, dying from hunger.
I shall get up and go to my father and I shall say to him,
“Father, I have sinned against heaven and against you.
I no longer deserve to be called your son;
treat me as you would treat one of your hired workers.”’
So he got up and went back to his father.
While he was still a long way off,
his father caught sight of him, and was filled with compassion.
He ran to his son, embraced him and kissed him.
His son said to him,
‘Father, I have sinned against heaven and against you;
I no longer deserve to be called your son.’
But his father ordered his servants,
‘Quickly, bring the finest robe and put it on him;
put a ring on his finger and sandals on his feet.
Take the fattened calf and slaughter it.
Then let us celebrate with a feast,
because this son of mine was dead, and has come to life again;
he was lost, and has been found.’
Then the celebration began.
Now the older son had been out in the field
and, on his way back, as he neared the house,
he heard the sound of music and dancing.
He called one of the servants and asked what this might mean.
The servant said to him,
‘Your brother has returned
and your father has slaughtered the fattened calf
because he has him back safe and sound.’
He became angry,
and when he refused to enter the house,
his father came out and pleaded with him.
He said to his father in reply,
‘Look, all these years I served you
and not once did I disobey your orders;
yet you never gave me even a young goat to feast on with my friends.
But when your son returns
who swallowed up your property with prostitutes,
for him you slaughter the fattened calf.’
He said to him,
‘My son, you are here with me always;
everything I have is yours.
But now we must celebrate and rejoice,
because your brother was dead and has come to life again;
he was lost and has been found.’“

The Church herself is a field, within which seeds and weeds, the good and the wicked, grow together, a place where there is room to grow, to be converted and above all to imitate God’s patience. The wicked exist in this world either to be converted or that through them the good may exercise patience. — St. Augustine
