My Daily Prayers and Readings for 11/13/2013

For the message of the cross is foolishness to those who are perishing, but to us who are being saved it is the power of God.

< >< My Prayer >< >

Lord Jesus in coming to You each morning I seek to get to the foot of the Cross. For it is here that I feel connected to You my source of source. Here that I receive Your wisdom and power to be imitated You in my one walk. Here You create a pure heart, and renew a steadfast spirit within me. Here You free me of judgement and fill me with forgiveness and love. Here I am reminded that if I get nothing else done this day, let me spend it loving You and others first, as You love me. Here I pray one thing for me and mine, to fulfillment of Your will. Here I pray for those You place in my path. Here I ask that whenever I speak, You give me the words, so that I will fearlessly make known the truth in the mystery of the gospel – one walk. In the name of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit, Amen.

My Daily Prayers and Readings for 11/12/2013

Consider it pure joy, my brothers and sisters, whenever you face trials of many kinds, because you know that the testing of your faith produces perseverance. Let perseverance finish its work so that you may be mature and complete, not lacking anything. If any of you lacks wisdom, you should ask God, who gives generously to all without finding fault, and it will be given to you. But when you ask, you must believe and not doubt, because the one who doubts is like a wave of the sea, blown and tossed by the wind. That person should not expect to receive anything from the Lord. Such a person is double-minded and unstable in all they do.

Abba Father I believe, help my unbelief. As the busyness of life under the sun wears me down, and challenges and problems increase. Keep me focused with eyes of faith, filled with hope and perseverance. Renew a steadfast spirit within me, and create in me a pure heart likened to Jesus’. For my one walk in and with You. Strong in You and Your almighty power. (r or l) Remembering that if I get nothing else done this day, let me spend it loving You and others first, as You love me. Praying through the Spirit on all occasions for me and mine in fulfillment of Your will. Staying alert to always pray for those You place in my path. Asking that whenever I speak, words may be given to me, so that I will fearlessly make known the truth in the mystery of the gospel – one walk. In the name of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit, Amen.

But remember the Lord your God, for it is he who gives you the ability to produce wealth, and so confirms his covenant, which he swore to your ancestors, as it is today.

Lord God, Moses’ challenge to the Israelites is a timeless message, one that I need to hear today. Whether my day holds challenge or success, let me meet each one in the humility and confidence that comes from knowing who You are, and who I am in You.1 Create a pure heart, and renew a steadfast spirit within me. Free of judgement and full of forgiveness and love. Staying strong in You and Your almighty power. (r or l) Remembering that if I get nothing else done this day, let me spend it loving You and others first, as You love me. Praying through the Spirit for me and mine in fulfillment of Your will. A good woman is hard to find, and worth far more than diamonds.

Abba Father thank you for my Annie and for blessing our marriage for 29 years. Years that as I look back remind me of rings in a tree. Not all are perfect. Some have cracks and some surround knots full of regret. But because of You our love for what we are and have together has held us together. And like the rings in a tree, together we are better and stronger, able to twist and bend, without breaking. I believe You put us together, and our love for each other is much like our faith, often filled with doubt, but purified and strengthened by fire. I pray for Your continued blessing, and that together we will fulfill Your will. In the name of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit, Amen.

I now rejoice in my sufferings for you, and fill up in my flesh what is lacking in the afflictions of Christ . . .

Lord Jesus I seek to be so closely identified with You and the reality of Your redemption that You can continually bring Your creating life through me. But I must make sure that I am living in such harmony with God that as I proclaim His truth He can create in others those things which He alone can do.1 This requires a pure heart, and renew a steadfast spirit which only You can create within me. My one walk in and with You today, must be free of judgement and full of forgiveness and love. Strong in You and Your almighty power. (r or l) As a channel of Your peace and love in all situations with all people. Remembering that if I get nothing else done this day, let me spend it loving You and others first, as You love me. Praying through the Spirit for me and mine in fulfillment of Your will. Being alert and always praying for those You place in my path. Asking that whenever I speak, words may be given to me, so that I will fearlessly make known the truth in the mystery of the gospel – one walk. For He has satisfied the thirsty soul, And the hungry soul He has filled with what is good.

Lord God my source of source, through Jesus I am made whole.1 My a steadfast spirit is renewed and my heart is made pure, likened to His. I am made ready for my one walk in and with You today. Free of judgement and full of forgiveness and love. A channel of Your peace and love in all situations with all people. Strong in You and Your almighty power. (r or l) Knowing that if I get nothing else done this day, I must spend it loving You and others first, as You love me. Praying through the Spirit on all occasions for me and mine to fulfill Your will. Being alert to always pray for those You place in my path. “For the Son of Man came to seek and to save the lost.”

Jesus, You are the Lord of all life, and You saw all of life as an opportunity to serve others, meeting them at their point of need in order to restore them to relationship with the Father. Give me eyes to see the opportunities I have to serve others today, always keeping in mind God’s greater purpose in their lives.1 Liken my heart to Yours, and renew a steadfast spirit within me. For my one walk in and with You today, as a channel of Your peace and love in all situations with all people. Free of judgement and full of forgiveness and love. Staying strong in You and Your almighty power. (r or l) Remembering that if I get nothing else done this day, let me spend it loving You and others first, as You love me.
