My Daily Prayers and Readings for 01/16/2014

Do nothing out of selfish ambition or vain conceit. Rather, in humility value others above yourselves, not looking to your own interests but each of you to the interests of the others. In your relationships with one another, have the same mindset as Christ Jesus: Who, being in very nature God, did not consider equality with God something to be used to his own advantage; rather, he made himself nothing by taking the very nature of a servant, being made in human likeness.

Lord God, help me to relate to and serve others in humility, following Your example. Create a pure heart, and renew a steadfast spirit within me. Help me to stay strong in You and Your almighty power. (r or l) Remind me that even if I get nothing else done this day, let me spend it loving You and others first, as You love me. Praying for me and mine in fulfillment of Your will and for those You place in my path. And that whenever I speak, words may be given to me, so that I will fearlessly make known the truth in the mystery of the gospel – one walk. In the name of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit, Amen.

My Daily Prayers and Readings for 01/15/2014

Then Job replied to the Lord: “I know that you can do all things; no purpose of yours can be thwarted. You asked, ‘Who is this that obscures my plans without knowledge?’ Surely I spoke of things I did not understand, things too wonderful for me to know.

“You said, ‘Listen now, and I will speak; I will question you, and you shall answer me.’ My ears had heard of you but now my eyes have seen you. Therefore I despise myself and repent in dust and ashes.”

Lord God, to often I think and try to speak of things I did not understand, things too wonderful for me to know. To end up only with regret. So I repent and through the Holy Spirit within me, in Jesus’ name and come to You so that You can create a pure heart, and renew a steadfast spirit within me. Strong in You and Your almighty power. (r or l) Remembering that the in the end, all that matters is that I spend this day loving You and others first, as You love me. And that me and mine fulfill Your will. Staying alert to always pray for those You place in our path. Looking to You whenever I speak, so that words may be given to me, so that I may fearlessly make known the truth in the mystery of the gospel – one walk. In the name of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit, Amen.

When He was alone . . . the twelve asked Him about the parable

Lord God through the Holy Spirit within me and in the name of Jesus Christ, I come to You to be alone with You.1 For there are vast areas of stubbornness and ignorance the Holy Spirit has to reveal me. And I need to quiet all our intellectual questions and get alone with You through Jesus. So that You will create a pure heart, and renew a steadfast spirit within me. Freeing me of any judgement and filling me with forgiveness and love. Getting strong in You and Your almighty power. (r or l) Remembering that if I get nothing else done this day, let me spend it loving You and others first, as You love me. Praying through the Spirit in Jesus name for me and mine in fulfillment of Your will and for those You place in my path. Asking that whenever I speak, words may be given to me, so that I will fearlessly make known the truth in the mystery of the gospel – one walk. In the name of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit, Amen.

My Daily Prayers and Readings for 01/13/2014

Come, let us bow down in worship, let us kneel before the Lord our Maker.

Lord God, You are my Maker, my Redeemer, my Sustainer, my Wisdom. You have given me this day for Your purposes. Regardless of what the coming hours hold, in this moment, I bow before You in worship, I commit this day to You, and I entrust myself into Your care.1 Through the Holy Spirit within me and in the name of Jesus Christ, I come to You so that You will create a pure heart, and renew a steadfast spirit within me. For my one walk in and with You today. As a channel of Your peace and love in all situations with all people. Free of judgement and full of forgiveness and love. Staying strong in You and Your almighty power. (r or l) Remembering that if I get nothing else done this day, let me spend it loving You and others first, as You love me. Praying on all occasions for me and mine in fulfillment of Your will and for those You place in my path. Asking that whenever I speak, words may be given to me, so that I will fearlessly make known the truth in the mystery of the gospel – one walk. My Daily Prayers and Readings for 01/11/2014

As a father has compassion on his children, so the Lord has compassion on those who fear him; for he knows how we are formed, he remembers that we are dust.

Abba Father I’m reminded that You rested after creation, and Jesus was so tired He slept while a storm raged around Him. Remind me to call out to You when I am exhausted, to rest in You, and experience restoration.1 To come to You so that You can create a pure heart, and renew a steadfast spirit within me. For my one walk is in and with You. As a channel of Your peace and love in all situations with all people. Strong in You and Your almighty power. (r or l) Remembering that if I get nothing else done, I must spend each moment loving You and others first, as You love me. Praying through the Spirit and in the name of Jesus on all occasions for me and mine in fulfillment of Your will, and for those You place in my path. Asking that whenever I speak, words may be given to me, so that I will fearlessly make known the truth in the mystery of the gospel – one walk. In the name of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit, Amen.

But you, be self-possessed in all circumstances; put up with hardship; perform the work of an evangelist; fulfill your ministry.

For my one walk in and with You today. With a heart of love to do good work, to seek Your Kingdom above all else, to be Jesus to those I meet. A channel of Your peace and love in all situations with all people. Free of judgement and full of forgiveness and love. Staying strong in You and Your almighty power. (r or l) Remembering that if I get nothing else done this day, let me spend it loving You and others first, as You love me. Those who give to the poor will lack nothing, but those who close their eyes to them receive many curses.
