My Daily Prayers and Readings for 01/08/2014

The Lord’s light penetrates the human spirit, exposing every hidden motive.

< >< My Prayer >< >

Abba Father search me with Your light, expose my motives, even those I hide from others. Examine my heart and mind and behavior. Remind me of Your call to servant leadership. Transform me so that I can lead like Jesus.1 Create a pure heart, and renew a steadfast spirit within me. For my one walk in and with You today, as a channel of Your peace and love in all situations with all people. Free of judgement and fill me with forgiveness and love. Help me to stay strong in You and Your almighty power. (r or l) Remembering that if I get nothing else done this day, let me spend it loving You and others first, as You love me. Praying through the Spirit and in the name of Jesus on all occasions for me and mine in fulfillment of Your will and for those You place in my path. Asking that whenever I speak, words may be given to me, so that I will fearlessly make known the truth in the mystery of the gospel – one walk. In the name of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit, Amen.

Keep my decrees and laws, for the person who obeys them will live by them. I am the Lord.

Abba Father I confess my tendency to wander from Your ways. Forgive me, and create Your heart within me, a heart that longs to hear and obey your commands. May I find life in obedience, and create an environment where others find life through my obedience.1 For my one walk in and with You today, as a channel of Your peace and love in all situations with all people. Free of judgement and full of forgiveness and love. Staying strong in You and Your almighty power. (r or l) Remembering that if I get nothing else done this day, let me spend it loving You and others first, as You love me. Praying through the Spirit and in the name of Jesus on all occasions for me and mine in fulfillment of Your will and for those You place in my path. Asking that whenever I speak, words may be given to me, so that I will fearlessly make known the truth in the mystery of the gospel – one walk. In the name of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit, Amen.

My Daily Prayers and Readings for 01/06/2014

Therefore, since we have so great a cloud of witnesses surrounding us, let us also lay aside every encumbrance and the sin which so easily entangles us, and let us run with endurance the race that is set before us, fixing our eyes on Jesus, the author and perfecter of faith, who for the joy set before Him endured the cross, despising the shame, and has sat down at the right hand of the throne of God.

My Daily Prayers and Readings for 01/05/2014

Truly, truly, I say to you, when you were young, you girded yourself and walked where you would; but when you are old, you will stretch out your hands, and another will gird you and carry you where you do not wish to go.”

Abba Father no matter what changes You make in me, never let me rely on them. Instead build only on a Person, the Lord Jesus Christ, and on the Spirit He gives me.1 For through the Holy Spirit within me and only in His name, can I come to You so that You can create a pure heart, and renew a steadfast spirit within me. For only in Jesus through the Holy Spirit is my one walk in and with You possible. To staying strong in You and Your almighty power (r or l) I must stay focused on Him and practice His presence in each moment. Remembering that if I get nothing else done, I need spend each moment loving You and others first, as You love me. Praying through the Spirit and in His name for me and mine in fulfillment of Your will, and for those You place in my path. Asking that whenever I speak, words may be given to me, so that I will fearlessly make known the truth in the mystery of the gospel – one walk. In the name of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit, Amen.

the LORD has sought out a man after his own heart

Lord, Jesus, as I enter this workplace, I bring Your presence with me.

I speak Your peace, Your grace, and Your perfect order into the atmosphere of this office.

I acknowledge Your Lordship over all that will be spoken, thought, decided and accomplished within these walls.

Lord Jesus, I thank You for the gifts You have deposited in me.

I do not take them lightly, but commit to using them responsibly and well.

Give me a fresh supply of truth and beauty on which to draw as I do my job.

Anoint my creativity, my ideas, my energy so that even my smallest task may bring You honor.

Lord, when I am confused, guide me. When I am weary, energize me.

Lord, when I am burned out, infuse me with the light of Your Holy Spirit.

May the work that I do and the way I do it bring hope, life, and courage to all that I come in contact with today.

And, oh, Lord, even in this day’s most stressful moment, may I rest in You – one walk.

In the name of Jesus, my Savior, I pray.

Amen.

What does the Lord require of you but to do justly, to love mercy, and to walk humbly with your God?

Lord God, what do You desire of me this year?1 My focus has been on soul-improvement rather than self-improvement. Resolved to be more Christlike. I know I cannot do it alone. For the ways under the sun are at odds with this. Fear and doubt weaken and causing me to stumble. Yet I continue to pray without ceasing for me and mine in fulfillment of Your will. Asking that You create a pure heart, and renew a steadfast spirit within me for my one walk in and with You. As a channel of Your peace and love in all situations with all people. Free of judgement and full of forgiveness and love. Staying strong in You and Your almighty power. (r or l) Remembering that if I get nothing else done this day, let me spend it loving You and others first, as You love me. Staying alert to always pray for those You place in my path. Asking that whenever I speak, words may be given to me, so that I will fearlessly make known the truth in the mystery of the gospel – one walk. In the name of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit, Amen.
