Greater love has no one than this, that he lay down his life [position] for his friends.

Abba Father keep teaching me to love through sacrifice. To die to myself in the now of each moment to fulfill Your will and purpose. With a pure heart, and a steadfast spirit within me. Keep me stay strong in You and Your almighty power. (r or l) Ready for my one walk in and with You today. A channel of Your peace and love in all situations with all people. Free of judgement and full of forgiveness and love. Remembering that if I get nothing else done, let me spend it loving You and others first, as You love me. Being alert to always praying for those You place in my path. Asking that whenever I speak, words may be given to me, so that I will fearlessly make known the truth in the mystery of the gospel – one walk. In the name of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit, Amen.

Let your conversation be always full of grace, seasoned with salt, so that you may know how to answer everyone.

Abba Father I know that truthfulness is Your will for our lives—but please give me the wisdom to know when to speak the truth and when to keep it to myself. Through the Holy Spirit within me and with Jesus Christ as my teacher and savior, I come to You so that You will create a pure heart, and renew a steadfast spirit within me today. Help keep me free of judgement and full of compassion, forgiveness, and love. Staying strong in You and Your almighty power. (r or l) Remembering that if I get nothing else done this day, let me spend it loving You and others first, as You love me. Praying on all occasions for me and mine in fulfillment of Your will, and for those You have placed in my path. So that whenever I speak, words may be given to me, so that I will fearlessly make known the truth in the mystery of the gospel – one walk. In the name of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit, Amen.

My Daily Prayers and Readings for 10/24/2013

The world is unprincipled. It’s dog-eat-dog out there! The world doesn’t fight fair. But we don’t live or fight our battles that way—never have and never will. The tools of our trade aren’t for marketing or manipulation, but they are for demolishing that entire massively corrupt culture. We use our powerful God-tools for smashing warped philosophies, tearing down barriers erected against the truth of God, fitting every loose thought and emotion and impulse into the structure of life shaped by Christ. Our tools are ready at hand for clearing the ground of every obstruction and building lives of obedience into maturity.

Lord Jesus I am held captive by You. Here for one purpose.1 To accept and nurture the seed You planted in my heart at birth – a seed that grows in need to love, know and have a relationship with You. To learn how to be obedient follower. To walk the narrow road of discipleship. For I, like Paul “am in the procession of a conqueror, and it doesn’t matter what the difficulties are, I am always led in triumph.”2 My task is simple, but can only be complete in You. To start each day through the Holy Spirit within me where You can create a pure heart, and renew a steadfast spirit within me. Free of judgement and full of forgiveness and love. Strong in You and Your almighty power. (r or l) For my one walk in and with You. As a channel of Your peace and love in all situations with all people. Remembering that if I get nothing else done this day, let me spend it loving You and others first, as You love me. Praying for me and mine in fulfillment of Your will, and for those You place in my path. “Come, follow me,” Jesus said, “and I will send you out to fish for people.” At once they left their nets and followed him.

Lord Jesus, when I am tempted to make followers for myself, remind me that You are the only one with the power to transform lives. Show me those whom You are calling to follow You, and help me keep pace with them so that they can find their way to You.1 Create in me a pure heart likened to Yours, and renew my steadfast spirit. Free of judgement and full of forgiveness and love. For one walk in and with You today, As a channel of Your peace and love in all situations with all people. Strong in You and Your almighty power. (r or l) Remembering that if I get nothing else done this day, let me spend it loving You and others first, as You love me. Praying on all occasions for me and mine in fulfillment of Your will, and for those You place in and remove from my path. I desire to do your will, my God; your law is within my heart.”

Abba Father I pray without ceasing through the Spirit for me and mine to fulfill Your will. I come to You each morning so You can create a pure heart, and renew a steadfast spirit within me. Free of judgement and full of forgiveness and love. Strong in You and Your almighty power. For when I am weak, then I am strong.

My Daily Prayers and Readings for 10/20/2013

But he said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.” Therefore I will boast all the more gladly about my weaknesses, so that Christ’s power may rest on me. That is why, for Christ’s sake, I delight in weaknesses, in insults, in hardships, in persecutions, in difficulties. For when I am weak, then I am strong.

Abba Father, how grateful I am that You accept me where I am. You can use every experience of my life. Teach me to find hope in You. Make me an effective vessel through whom others will find You as their Savior.1 Give me a pure heart, and a steadfast spirit for my one walk in and with You. As a channel of Your peace and love in all situations with all people. I man after Your own heart. Free of judgement and full of forgiveness and love. Strong in You and Your almighty power. (r or l) Covered in Your armor. Knowing that if I get nothing else done each day, I must spend it loving You and others first, as You love me. I must pray without ceasing through the Spirit for me and mine in fulfillment of Your will, and for those You place in my path. And whenever I speak, I must look to You, so words may be given to me, so that I can fearlessly make known the truth in the mystery of the gospel – one walk. In the name of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit, Amen.

My Daily Prayers and Readings for 10/18/2013

How long, Lord? Will you forget me forever?

How long will you hide your face from me?

How long must I wrestle with my thoughts

and day after day have sorrow in my heart?

How long will my enemy triumph over me?

Look on me and answer, Lord my God.

Give light to my eyes, or I will sleep in death,

and my enemy will say, “I have overcome him,”

and my foes will rejoice when I fall.

But I trust in your unfailing love;

my heart rejoices in your salvation.

I will sing the Lord’s praise,

for he has been good to me.

Lord God, my source of source. How long? Today’s devotion and reading from Psalm is a reflection of my thoughts. Like David, I cry out as an expression of disappointment, combined with confident affirmation of trust in You.1 And like David help keep me a man after Your own heart. A heart likened to Jesus’ with a steadfast spirit. For my one walk in and with You, as a channel of Your peace and love in all situations with all people. Free of judgement and full of forgiveness and love. Staying strong in You and Your almighty power.
