My Daily Prayers and Readings for 11/27/2012
Why are you in despair, O my soul? And why have you become disturbed within me?
Hope in God, for I shall again praise Him for the help of His presence.

Abba Father how easy it is under the sun to forget You are with us and we are not alone, especially when discouraged. Today’s verse and devotion gives us a simply question and steps to follow for overcoming discouragement1 by getting right with You – a spiritual first-aid. Ask why? Look within, look up, look back and look ahead; remembering You are with us and with You what is there to be discouraged about. However the stronger we are spiritually the speedier the recovery. So I must practice Your presence and start each day from a pint of reference that is true and pure with You by coming to You in the name of Jesus Christ who lives within me through the Holy Spirit so that You can create in me a pure heart, and renew a steadfast spirit within me, for my one walk in and with You. Opening my mind and heart to You, so You can show and teach me how to be a channel of Your peace and love in all situations with all people, for when I allow myself to be discourage, I cannot be of help to others. Staying in Your Word so I can stand having girded my waist with truth, and having put on the breastplate of righteousness, and having shod my feet with the preparation of the gospel of peace; above all, taking the shield of faith with which I will be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked one who wants to keep me discouraged. Always praying that You continue to bless me and mine in fulfillment of Your will, and keep us from evil and pain; free of discouragement, reminding us that if we get nothing else done this day, let us spend it loving You and others first, as You love us. In the name of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit, Amen.
