My Daily Prayers and Readings for 10/15/2012

“How great you are, Sovereign LORD! There is no one like you, and there is no God but you, as we have heard with our own ears.

Abba Father in the name of Christ Jesus who lives within me through the Holy Spirit I come to You so that You would create in me a pure heart, and renew a steadfast spirit within me, for my one walk in and with Jesus. That You will show and teach me how to be a channel of Your peace and love in all situations will all people. That You will help me stand having girded my waist with truth, and having put on the breastplate of righteousness, and having shod my feet with the preparation of the gospel of peace; above all, taking the shield of faith with which I will be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked one. Always asking that You continue to bless me and mine in fulfillment of Your will, and keep us from evil and pain; reminding us that if we get nothing else done this day, let us spend it loving You and others first, as You love us. In the name of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit, Amen.

Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is—his good, pleasing and perfect will.

That You will show and teach me how to be a channel of Your peace and love in all situations will all people. That You will help me stand having girded my waist with truth, and having put on the breastplate of righteousness, and having shod my feet with the preparation of the gospel of peace; above all, taking the shield of faith with which I will be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked one. Always asking that You continue to bless me and mine by revealing Your will, and guiding us in fulfillment of Your it, always keeping us from evil and pain; while reminding us that if we get nothing else done this day, let us spend it loving You and others first, as You love us. In the name of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit, Amen.

My Daily Prayers and Readings for 10/13/2012

For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the LORD, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.

Abba Father I have grown to believe as St. Paul writes to the Corinthians ‘For now we see only a reflection as in a mirror; then we shall see face to face. Now I know in part; then I shall know fully, even as I am fully known. And now these three remain: faith, hope and love. But the greatest of these is love.’1 I must walk by faith with hope, but most of all in love; trusting in what I believe. That You do have a plans for me, and my future is in Your hands; not as the world under the sun sees, but according to You will and purpose. My focus must be to love others as You love me walking with eyes of faith and full of hope that Your presence in me will be visible to those whose path I cross. So I start each day asking in the name of Christ Jesus who lives within me through the Holy Spirit that You would create in me a pure heart, and renew a steadfast spirit within me, for my one walk in and with Jesus. That You will show and teach me how to be a channel of Your peace and love in all situations will all people. My Daily Prayers and Readings for 10/10/2012

Listen to advice and accept discipline, and at the end you will be counted among the wise. Many are the plans in a person’s heart, but it is the LORD’s purpose that prevails.

Abba Father ‘many have been the plans of my heart, but thankfully Your purpose is what has prevailed’ bringing me so many blessings. For I have come to believe that a heart that does not beat for You is nothing more than a ship without a compass, lost at sea; subject to be pulled along by the changing currents and pushed about by the changing winds without direction or destination. Only in You do I feel complete and with purpose, for everything else under the sun is just vanity, ‘the futility of all endeavor’.1 To be able to start each day with You, to know that no matter what storms or attacks I face. I can come to You in the name of Christ Jesus who lives within me through the Holy Spirit knowing that You will create in me a pure heart, and renew a steadfast spirit within me, for my one walk in and with Jesus. That You will show and teach me how to be a channel of Your peace and love in all situations will all people. That You will help me stand having girded my waist with truth, and having put on the breastplate of righteousness, and having shod my feet with the preparation of the gospel of peace; above all, taking the shield of faith with which I will be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked one. My Daily Prayers and Readings for 10/09/2012

It is the LORD your God you must follow, and him you must revere. Keep his commands and obey him; serve him and hold fast to him.

Abba Father, St. Peter tells us, ‘the Lord knows how to rescue the godly from temptation’,1 but we must do our part; selfishness and pride work against us, a weapon to be used by the evil one against us. Life under the sun is like walking through a minefield, we must realize that what might make us seem strong and successful under the sun; self confidence and pride, also makes us vulnerable and often weakens us. As difficult as it is to navigate this minefield alone, reality is we are not alone. You do provide us with a road map in Your Words and teaching through Jesus Christ. Obedience of Your commands and a relationship with You through Jesus is the way. We must open our ears more and close our mouths more. Clearing our minds of the busyness under the sun and opening our hearts, we must ask in the name of Christ Jesus who lives within us through the Holy Spirit that You create in us a pure heart, and renew a steadfast spirit within us, for one walk in and with Jesus. We must practice being channels of Your peace and love in all situations will all people. We must start each day, by standing having girded our waist with truth, and having put on the breastplate of righteousness, and having shod our feet with the preparation of the gospel of peace; above all, taking the shield of faith with which we will be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked one who is lurking. Always praying without ceasing for those in need and that You continue to bless us and ours in fulfillment of Your will, keeping us from evil and pain; reminding us that if we get nothing else done this day, let us spend it loving You and others first, as You love us. In the name of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit, Amen.

Jesus, there are situations where I question whether Your call to servant leadership will really work. I can’t believe that serving others will make any difference. I want a Plan B. But like Philip and Nathanael,1 I believe that You know what You are talking about, and so I trust that following You as a servant leader is the right thing to do. Show me how to live and lead in Your name,2 I come to so that You would create in me a pure heart, and renew a steadfast spirit within me, for my one walk in and with Jesus. That You will show and teach me how to be a channel of Your peace and love in all situations will all people. That You will help me stand having girded my waist with truth, and having put on the breastplate of righteousness, and having shod my feet with the preparation of the gospel of peace; above all, taking the shield of faith with which I will be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked one. Always asking that You continue to bless me and mine in fulfillment of Your will, and keep us from evil and pain; reminding us that if we get nothing else done this day, let us spend it loving You and others first, as You love us.
