The everlasting God . . . neither faints nor is weary

My Daily Prayers and Readings for 02/09/2013

Do you not know?  Have you not heard? The Lord is the everlasting God, the Creator of the ends of the earth. He will not grow tired or weary, and his understanding no one can fathom.

< >< My Prayer >< >

Abba Father, You are my source of source, without You I can do nothing.1 Therefore I must come to You daily through the Holy Spirit who lives within me, in the name of Jesus Christ who saved me, so that You will create in me a pure heart, and renew a steadfast spirit within me, for for this day and my one walk in and with You. So that You will show and teach me how to be a channel of Your peace and love in all situations with all people. So that You will help me be strong in You and Your almighty power, putting on Your full armor by standing firm with the belt of Your truth buckled around my waist, with the breastplate of righteousness in place, and with my feet fitted with the readiness that comes from the gospel of peace, taking up the shield of faith, with which I can extinguish all the flaming arrows of the evil one who lurks in each moment waiting to separate me from You. Taking the helmet of salvation and the sword of the Spirit, which is Your word. And praying in the Spirit on all occasions with all kinds of prayers and requests for me and mine in fulfillment of Your will. With this in mind, being alert and always praying for those You place in my path. Asking that whenever I speak, words may be given me so that I will fearlessly make known the mystery of the gospel.(r or l) Remembering that if I get nothing else done this day, let me spend it loving You and others first, as You love me. In the name of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit, Amen.

but we had hoped that he was the one who was going to redeem Israel.

February 7, 2013

My Daily Prayers and Readings for 02/07/2013

but we had hoped that he was the one who was going to redeem Israel. And what is more, it is the third day since all this took place.

< >< My Prayer >< >

Abba Father once again You give me what I need to be reminded of and practice. For ‘if I am depressed or burdened, I am to blame, not You or anyone else. Dejection stems from one of two sources— I have either satisfied a lust or I have not had it satisfied. In either case, dejection is the result. Lust means “I must have it at once.” Spiritual lust causes me to demand an answer from You, instead of seeking You for Yourself who gives the answer. What have I been hoping or trusting You would do? Is today “the third day” and He has still not done what I expected? Am I therefore justified in being dejected and in blaming You? Whenever I insist that You should give me an answer to prayer I am off track. The purpose of prayer is that we get ahold of You, not of the answer.1 So I come to You through the Holy Spirit in the name of Jesus Christ who lives within me so that You will create in me a pure heart, and renew a steadfast spirit within me, for my one walk in and with You. Staying firm and  strong in You and Your almighty power, putting on Your full armor by standing firm with the belt of Your truth buckled around my waist, with the breastplate of righteousness in place, and with my feet fitted with the readiness that comes from the gospel of peace, taking up the shield of faith, with which I can extinguish all the flaming arrows of the evil one. Taking the helmet of salvation and the sword of the Spirit, which is Your word. And praying in the Spirit on all occasions for me and mine in fulfillment of Your will. Staying alert and always praying for those You place in my path. Asking that whenever I speak, words may be given me so that I will fearlessly make known the mystery of the gospel.(r or l) And remembering that if I get nothing else done this day, let me spend it loving You and others first, as You love me. In the name of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit, Amen.

“Turn to me and be saved,

January 22, 2013

My Daily Prayers and Readings for 01/22/2013

“Turn to me and be saved, all you ends of the earth; for I am God, and there is no other.

< >< My Prayer >< >

Abba Father I awake and look to You. For when I look to You my difficulties, trials, and  worries about tomorrow all vanish.1 I look to You through the Holy Spirit and in the name of Jesus Christ who lives within me ask that You create in me a pure heart, and renew a steadfast spirit within me, for my one walk in and with You. I ask that You give me the energy and stamina, knowledge and wisdom to make the right decisions. That You will show and teach me how to be a channel of Your peace and love in all situations with all people. That You will help me be strong in You and Your almighty power, putting on Your full armor by standing firm with the belt of Your truth buckled around my waist, with the breastplate of righteousness in place, and with my feet fitted with the readiness that comes from the gospel of peace, taking up the shield of faith, with which I can extinguish all the flaming arrows of the evil one. I remember the devotion of your youth,

January 22, 2013

My Daily Prayers and Readings for 01/21/2013

“‘I remember the devotion of your youth,  how as a bride you loved me and followed me through the wilderness, through a land not sown.

< >< My Prayer >< >

Abba Father I come to You to give thanks and praise for You have truly blessed me. Yet as I recall what You remember about me, I also begin to realize that You are not always what I want You to be to me. When this happens, I need to allow the shame and humiliation it creates in my life, because it will bring godly sorrow, and “godly sorrow produces repentance . . .”1 Then through the Holy Spirit in the name of Jesus Christ who lives within me You come into me and create in me a pure heart, and renew a steadfast spirit within me, for my one walk in and with You. You show and teach me how to be a channel of Your peace and love in all situations with all people. You help me be strong in You and Your almighty power, putting on Your full armor by standing firm with the belt of Your truth buckled around my waist, with the breastplate of righteousness in place, and with my feet fitted with the readiness that comes from the gospel of peace, taking up the shield of faith, with which I can extinguish all the flaming arrows of the evil one who lurks in each moment waiting to separate me from You. I am God Almighty; walk before me faithfully and be blameless.

January 19, 2013

My Daily Prayers and Readings for 01/19/2013

When Abram was ninety-nine years old, the Lord appeared to him and said, “I am God Almighty; walk before me faithfully and be blameless.

< >< My Prayer >< >

Abba Father I come to to be still and listen, to just wait upon You and be grounded in You. So through the Holy Spirit in the name of Jesus Christ who lives within me so that You will create in me a pure heart, and renew a steadfast spirit within me, for my one walk in and with You. But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes on you; and you will be my witnesses

January 18, 2013

My Daily Prayers and Readings for 01/18/2013

But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes on you; and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth.”

< >< My Prayer >< >

Abba Father I only seek to live in uncompromising, and unrestrained devotion to the Lord Jesus, in a way that will be satisfying to Him wherever He may send me.1 I start by coming to You through the Holy Spirit in the name of Jesus Christ who lives within me so that You will create in me a pure heart, and renew a steadfast spirit within me, for my one walk in and with You. So that You will show and teach me how to be a channel of Your peace and love in all situations with all people. If you hold to my teaching, you are really my disciples.

January 15, 2013

My Daily Prayers and Readings for 01/15/2013

Jesus said, “If you hold to my teaching, you are really my disciples. Then you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free.”

< >< My Prayer >< >

Abba Father today’s Utmost for His Highest says ‘There must be a “white funeral,” a death with only one resurrection-a resurrection into the life of Jesus Christ. Nothing can defeat a life like this. It has oneness with God for only one purpose— to be a witness for Him. Death means you stop being. You must agree with God and stop being the intensely striving kind of Christian you have been.’1 I come to You through the Holy Spirit in the name of Jesus Christ who lives within me so that You will create in me a pure heart, and renew a steadfast spirit within me, to think about and with Your help die to my old ways and life. To search my being to find anything that I may be holding on to. For I know my one walk in and with You must be free. I must be strong in You and Your almighty power, putting on Your full armor by standing firm with the belt of Your truth buckled around my waist, with the breastplate of righteousness in place, and with my feet fitted with the readiness that comes from the gospel of peace, taking up the shield of faith, with which I can extinguish all the flaming arrows of the evil one who only wants to hold me back with whatever he can. But by taking the helmet of salvation and the sword of the Spirit, which is Your word. And praying in the Spirit on all occasions with all kinds of prayers and requests for me and mine in fulfillment of Your will. With this in mind, being alert and always praying first for those You place in my path. Asking that whenever I speak, words may be given me so that I will fearlessly make known the mystery of the gospel. (r or l) Remembering that if I get nothing else done this day, let me spend it loving You and others first, as You love me. In the name of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit, Amen.
