Reading I Hebrews 10:32-39

Remember the days past when, after you had been enlightened,
you endured a great contest of suffering.
At times you were publicly exposed to abuse and affliction;
at other times you associated yourselves with those so treated.
You even joined in the sufferings of those in prison
and joyfully accepted the confiscation of your property,
knowing that you had a better and lasting possession.
Therefore, do not throw away your confidence;
it will have great recompense.
You need endurance to do the will of God and receive what he has promised.
For, after just a brief moment,  he who is to come shall come;  he shall not delay.  But my just one shall live by faith,  and if he draws back I take no pleasure in him.
We are not among those who draw back and perish,
but among those who have faith and will possess life.

Gospel Mark 4:26-34

Jesus said to the crowds:
“This is how it is with the Kingdom of God;
it is as if a man were to scatter seed on the land
and would sleep and rise night and day
and the seed would sprout and grow,
he knows not how.
Of its own accord the land yields fruit,
first the blade, then the ear, then the full grain in the ear.
And when the grain is ripe, he wields the sickle at once,
for the harvest has come.”
He said,
“To what shall we compare the Kingdom of God,
or what parable can we use for it?
It is like a mustard seed that, when it is sown in the ground,
is the smallest of all the seeds on the earth.
But once it is sown, it springs up and becomes the largest of plants
and puts forth large branches,
so that the birds of the sky can dwell in its shade.”
With many such parables
he spoke the word to them as they were able to understand it.
Without parables he did not speak to them,
but to his own disciples he explained everything in private.

Persevere with Joy

Today, the Letter to the Hebrews calls us to patient endurance with joy. Suffering was present in the early Church as it is in the lives of the faithful today. The grace of Christ enables us to endure this suffering with joy. Allow your life to be a faithful witness to Christ through patient endurance in all circumstances.

My prayer…

Dear God, my Abba Father, Lord Jesus my Savior, Holy Spirit within me. Thank You for today’s reading and Gospel that speak to me about the times we are facing. Far from the suffering and persecution of early Christians and those in many parts of the world still today, But new to us. Awaken us from our safe spaces to decide what we truly believe and ready us for the test our faith.
O my Lord Jesus, walk with me and mine, and each of theirs. Help us prepare and be ready for when we are confronted. Give us the courage to stand with You, enduring whatever may come for the glory of Your Kingdom that awaits us.
Hear my prayers, protect us from evil and the false teachers of this world. Guide us through the hypocrisy of Your Church, showing us Your truths by giving us a discerning ear, mind and heart for Your truth.
Jesus, Mary, I love You, save souls.
In Jesus name I pray.

Apostles (Nicene) Creed

Reading I Hebrews 10:19-25

Brothers and sisters:
Since through the Blood of Jesus
we have confidence of entrance into the sanctuary
by the new and living way he opened for us through the veil,
that is, his flesh,
and since we have “a great priest over the house of God,”
let us approach with a sincere heart and in absolute trust,
with our hearts sprinkled clean from an evil conscience
and our bodies washed in pure water.
Let us hold unwaveringly to our confession that gives us hope,
for he who made the promise is trustworthy.
We must consider how to rouse one another to love and good works.
We should not stay away from our assembly,
as is the custom of some, but encourage one another,

Paul addressed the people in these words:

binding both men and women and delivering them to prison.

Jesus appeared to the Eleven and said to them:
“Go into the whole world
and proclaim the Gospel to every creature.
Whoever believes and is baptized will be saved;
whoever does not believe will be condemned.
These signs will accompany those who believe:
in my name they will drive out demons,

he saw Simon and his brother Andrew casting their nets into the sea;

He walked along a little farther
and saw James, the son of Zebedee, and his brother John.
They too were in a boat mending their nets.
Then he called them.
So they left their father Zebedee in the boat

Reading I Hebrews 9:2-3, 11-14

A tabernacle was constructed, the outer one,
in which were the lampstand, the table, and the bread of offering;
this is called the Holy Place.
Behind the second veil was the tabernacle called the Holy of Holies.
But when Christ came as high priest of the good things that have come to be,
passing through the greater and more perfect tabernacle not made by hands,
that is, not belonging to this creation,
he entered once for all into the sanctuary,
not with the blood of goats and calves but with his own Blood,
thus obtaining eternal redemption.
For if the blood of goats and bulls and the sprinkling of a heifer’s ashes
