Reading 1 Acts 1:15-17, 20-26

Peter stood up in the midst of the brothers and sisters
(there was a group of about one hundred and twenty persons
in the one place).
He said, “My brothers and sisters,
the Scripture had to be fulfilled
which the Holy Spirit spoke beforehand
through the mouth of David, concerning Judas,
who was the guide for those who arrested Jesus.
Judas was numbered among us
and was allotted a share in this ministry.
For it is written in the Book of Psalms:
Let his encampment become desolate,
and may no one dwell in it.
and:
May another take his office.
Therefore, it is necessary that one of the men
who accompanied us the whole time
the Lord Jesus came and went among us,
beginning from the baptism of John

So they proposed two, Joseph called Barsabbas,
who was also known as Justus, and Matthias.
Then they prayed,

from which Judas turned away to go to his own place.”
Then they gave lots to them, and the lot fell upon Matthias,
and he was counted with the Eleven Apostles.

Dear God, my Abba Father, Lord Jesus my Savior, thank You for this new day, the beginning of a new week. My One Walk with Jesus.
Thank You for all Your blessings. For each of mine. Hear my prayers.
Help us to staying spiritually fit by studying Your Word and surrounding ourselves in Jesus.

“Do not let your hearts be troubled.
You have faith in God; have faith also in me.
In my Father’s house there are many dwelling places.
If there were not,
would I have told you that I am going to prepare a place for you?
And if I go and prepare a place for you,
I will come back again and take you to myself,
so that where I am you also may be.
Where I am going you know the way.”
Thomas said to him,
“Master, we do not know where you are going;
how can we know the way?”
Jesus said to him, "I am the way and the truth and the life.
No one comes to the Father except through me.
If you know me, then you will also know my Father.
From now on you do know him and have seen him.”
Philip said to him,
“Master, show us the Father, and that will be enough for us.”

My prayer…

Dear God, my Abba Father, Lord Jesus my Savior, thank You today’s readings. For all Your blessings, that even in the midst of scrabbles and busyness I find a way to count and give thanks. For each of mine.
Especially my Mom, whom I believe is with You now. Like Your love, hers love was unconditional. An example to remember even when she stumbled. And even though at the end of her life she just ran out reason, purpose, emptied of hope. I remember the good, the love, and through Jesus understand her pain and suffering. She battled so much illness and many demons. I thank You for the blessings of her life, her Dub. And pray that now together with You they are at Rest In Peace. I love you Mom, miss you. You too Dub.
For each of hers still in the world, I pray for the courage she often displayed. For a prayer life like hers. As each of her children and grandchildren remember her today, let us think of these things, examples of her faith and love.
