“Blessed are the eyes that see what you see. Luke 10:23

December 3, 2019

One Walk with Jesus is knowing you’re in the world, but not of the world… so don’t be deceived by the evil one into relying on your own understanding and knowledge, but in all things trust and depend on Jesus Your Lord and Savior.

Luke 10:21-24
Jesus rejoiced in the Holy Spirit and said,
"I give you praise, Father, Lord of heaven and earth,
for although you have hidden these things
from the wise and the learned
you have revealed them to the childlike.
Yes, Father, such has been your gracious will.
All things have been handed over to me by my Father.
No one knows who the Son is except the Father,
and who the Father is except the Son
and anyone to whom the Son wishes to reveal him."
Turning to the disciples in private he said,
"Blessed are the eyes that see what you see.
For I say to you,
many prophets and kings desired to see what you see,
but did not see it,
and to hear what you hear, but did not hear it."

A prayer…

Dear God, my Abba Father, Lord Jesus my Savior, thank You for giving me eyes that see and hears that hear Your Gospel. And a heart to discern to truth. For You have taught me that the more I rely on myself the less I see and hear. But the more I rely on You the more I see, hear and understand. You have blessed me beyond measure. You have blessed me with a loving family. You have provided what I needed for each day. I pray that I will never again take You for granted. And always giving thanks praise You and all Your creation. Doing all things for Your glory and honor. In Jesus name I pray. Glory be to the Father and to the Son and to the Holy Ghost; as it was in the beginning is now and ever shall be, world without end. Amen.

Lords Prayer

Our Father, Who art in Heaven, hallowed be Thy name; Thy Kingdom come, Thy will be done on earth as it is in Heaven. Give us this day our daily bread; and forgive us our trespasses as we forgive those who trespass against us; and lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil.
Amen.

Hail Mary

Hail Mary full of Grace, the Lord is with thee. Blessed are thou among women and blessed is the fruit of thy womb Jesus.
Holy Mary Mother of God, pray for us sinners now and at the hour of our death.
Amen.

O my Jesus

O my Jesus, have mercy on us. Forgive us our sins. Save us from the fires of hell. Take all souls into heaven, especially, those most in need of thy mercy.
Amen.

Nicene Creed

I believe in one God, the Father almighty, maker of heaven and earth, of all things visible and invisible.
I believe in one Lord Jesus Christ, the Only Begotten Son of God, born of the Father before all ages. God from God, Light from Light, true God from true God, begotten, not made, consubstantial with the Father; through him all things were made. For us men and for our salvation he came down from heaven,
and by the Holy Spirit was incarnate of the Virgin Mary, and became man.
For our sake he was crucified under Pontius Pilate, he suffered death and was buried, and rose again on the third day in accordance with the Scriptures. He ascended into heaven and is seated at the right hand of the Father. He will come again in glory to judge the living and the dead and his kingdom will have no end.
I believe in the Holy Spirit, the Lord, the giver of life, who proceeds from the Father and the Son, who with the Father and the Son is adored and glorified, who has spoken through the prophets.
I believe in one, holy, catholic and apostolic Church. I confess one Baptism for the forgiveness of sins and I look forward to the resurrection of the dead and the life of the world to come.
Amen.

Dear God, my Abba Father, Lord Jesus my Savior, thank You for everything; this new day and all it offers, all Your blessings and each of mine. For all and each memory created by Your grace and mercy.
Lord I pray that this Christmas season we’ll look at Christ and remember the Cross. Making Jesus be the center of our celebration. May we be renewed in our love and affection for Him every day!
I pray for those yet to realize the truth of the Christmas season. And for those blinded and unable to hear or accept this truth because of their pain and suffering. Touch them all with the truth of Jesus Christ and the joy of Christmas.

I finished listening to The Irony of Modern Catholic History

December 1, 2019

One Walk with Jesus is about knowing and believing our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the powers, against the world rulers of this darkness, against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavens. (Ephesians 6:12). So put on The Armor of God and surrounding yourself in all things about Jesus. Being an alert defender of the faith and always fighting to focus on Jesus.

I finished listening to The Irony of Modern Catholic History – How the Church Rediscovered Itself & Challenged the Modern World to Reform by George Weigel.

Isaiah 2:5
O house of Jacob, come,
let us walk in the light of the Lord!

Romans 13:11-14
Brothers and sisters:
You know the time;
it is the hour now for you to awake from sleep.
For our salvation is nearer now than when we first believed;
the night is advanced, the day is at hand.
Let us then throw off the works of darkness
and put on the armor of light;
let us conduct ourselves properly as in the day,
not in orgies and drunkenness,
not in promiscuity and lust,
not in rivalry and jealousy.
But put on the Lord Jesus Christ,
and make no provision for the desires of the flesh.

Matthew 24:37-44
Jesus said to his disciples:
"As it was in the days of Noah,
so it will be at the coming of the Son of Man.
In those days before the flood,
they were eating and drinking,
marrying and giving in marriage,
up to the day that Noah entered the ark.
They did not know until the flood came and carried them all away.
So will it be also at the coming of the Son of Man.
Two men will be out in the field;
one will be taken, and one will be left.
Two women will be grinding at the mill;
one will be taken, and one will be left.
Therefore, stay awake!
For you do not know on which day your Lord will come.
Be sure of this: if the master of the house
had known the hour of night when the thief was coming,
he would have stayed awake
and not let his house be broken into.
So too, you also must be prepared,
for at an hour you do not expect, the Son of Man will come."

A prayer…

Dear God, my Abba Father, Lord Jesus my Savior, thank You for all Your blessings. Help us to seek you first during this Advent journey so that there will be room in our hearts for the Christ Child this Christmas. Dear God, my Abba Father, Lord Jesus my Savior, thank You for today, this time with my children and grandchildren. For I truly know what I am and what I have is by Your grace alone. I hope and prayer is that each of mine and those who see me, grow in awareness of the same. For knowing who we are in You, and what we have because of You is the first step in developing a thankful heart and grateful attitude. So I pray for those consumed in themselves and their pride, and those lost, alone without hope. Open their ears so that may hear the Words of Jesus and be saved. In Jesus name I pray. Daniel 7:13-14
As the visions during the night continued, I saw.
One like a son of man coming,
on the clouds of heaven;
When he reached the Ancient One
and was presented before him,
He received dominion, glory, and kingship;
nations and peoples of every language serve him.
His dominion is an everlasting dominion
that shall not be taken away,
his kingship shall not be destroyed.

Luke 21:29-31
Jesus told his disciples a parable.
“Consider the fig tree and all the other trees.
When their buds burst open,
you see for yourselves and know that summer is now near;
in the same way, when you see these things happening,
know that the Kingdom of God is near.

Daily Catholic Wisdom…

When we choose the poor, we can always be sure of not going wrong. … When we choose an ideology, we can never be sure of not being at least partly wrong. When we have complied with an ideology, we can never be sure of having taken the right course. When we choose the poor, we are always sure, doubly sure, of having made a good choice. We have chosen like Jesus. And we have chosen Jesus.
Henri de Lubac
from Paradoxes of Faith

Like a vise the busyness of the world squeezes out the time we take to give thanks and praise to our Lord God. Yet if we keep our eyes on Jesus we have the gift of Advent to awaken and focus us on what we should be most thankful for, Jesus. So let us all use the season of Advent to develop a mindset of thankfulness for the Christmas season before us, and develop the attitude of gratitude for the new year to come. Always mindful and praying for all those in need, alone and walking without their Lord and Savior Jesus. Let this Advent and Christmas bring them home to Him.

In Jesus name I pray. Glory be to the Father and to the Son and to the Holy Ghost; as it was in the beginning is now and ever shall be, world without end. Amen.

Amen.

An Atmosphere of Gratitude

November 27, 2019

One Walk with Jesus is knowing you’re in the world, but not of the world… Jesus teaches us how to experience what awaits us through love and with joy. Walk in an atmosphere of gratitude. Giving thanks…

My prayer…

Dear God, my Abba Father, Lord Jesus my Savior, thank You for today. For creating in me an attitude of gratitude built on my relationship with You. Thank You for each of mine. And for all the blessings You have given us. Thank You for today and for this Thanksgiving. For letting us spend time together. For walking with us through as we grieve the loss of Coco, help us rejoice in his passing to be with You and Nana, my Mom and Dub. Together again as in Thanksgivings past.

A verse…

Every time I think of you, I give thanks to my God.
Philippians 1:3 NLT

Thank You for the gift of music and songs that encourage and inspire us to get and be close to You and each other through and in You.

Thank You for Your Word that guides and directs our walk, giving us enough knowledge and wisdom to understand and accept what we do not.

Luke 21:12-19

Jesus said to the crowd:
“They will seize and persecute you,
they will hand you over to the synagogues and to prisons,
and they will have you led before kings and governors
because of my name.
It will lead to your giving testimony.
Remember, you are not to prepare your defense beforehand,
for I myself shall give you a wisdom in speaking
that all your adversaries will be powerless to resist or refute.
You will even be handed over by parents,
brothers, relatives, and friends,
and they will put some of you to death.
You will be hated by all because of my name,
but not a hair on your head will be destroyed.
By your perseverance you will secure your lives.”

Thank You for the all the devotions that teach us how to practice and walk in Your Word.

An Atmosphere of Gratitude

“Always be full of joy in the Lord. I say it again—rejoice! Let everyone see that you are considerate in all you do. Remember, the Lord is coming soon.
Don’t worry about anything; instead, pray about everything. Tell God what you need, and thank him for all he has done.”
Philippians 4: 4 – 6

“Now, dear brothers and sisters, one final thing. Fix your thoughts on what is true, and honorable, and right, and pure, and lovely, and admirable. Think about things that are excellent and worthy of praise. Keep putting into practice all you learned and received from me—everything you heard from me and saw me doing. Then the God of peace will be with you.”
Philippians 4: 8 – 9

Daily Catholic Wisdom…

One of the signs that John of the Cross and Teresa of Avila give that we’re growing in holiness is that we’re becoming less and less afraid. We’re becoming more and more free. We’re becoming less afraid of suffering, less afraid of death, less afraid of failure, and less afraid of what other people think. We are becoming more confident and joyful in the Father’s Love. We are more able to love, worship, and serve.

Jesus Calling…

As you rejoice in your weaknesses, you open yourself to My Power. Let this sacred Power rest upon you, displaying My delight in you.
from Jesus Lives
page 58, “Weakness”

But you are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, His own special people, that you may proclaim the praises of Him who called you out of darkness into His marvelous light.
1 Peter 2:9 NKJV

As we all get busy with the busyness of the world bring us peace. Be with us as we travel. Protect and keep us all safe. Hear our prayers and request.
May the peace of God be with us and everyone this Thanksgiving Day weekend as we take time out to cultivate an atmosphere of gratitude with family and friends, and those You place in our path.

Amen.
