A thought…

Compared to eternity, time can seem inferior, degenerate. But this is an abstract speculation. If we look at man’s purpose and destiny, which is to be introduced into the life of the Trinity, then it is clear that time is a gift. Time gives us a chance to grow. Thanks to time, what God has placed within us can germinate and become a tree. Because of time, we have the possibility of participating in God’s creation ourselves.

Dear Lord God, Abba Father, Jesus, thank you for the privilege of knowing about you. Thank you for those who have taught me to know you through their speaking and their writing. Thank you for those who have taught me through their faithful actions. Thank you for the Gospels, which help me to know what you did and said. Thank you for the Scripture, all of which points to you.
I also thank you, Jesus, for the privilege of knowing you, being in relationship with you, even being called your friend. As I live “in you,” help me to know you more truly and deeply. May my life be shaped by your life. May I live in such a way today that people can see you through me.

We live in an age of nonstop information. Not knowledge, not wisdom—just information. All of these conflicting bits and chunks of data are competing with us for the very souls of our children. A thought…

Why do we hide from God? Shame and regret our powerful lies the devil uses to separate us from God. That’s why we must fight to stay focused. This means not only having a relationship with God that is based on praying without ceasing, but staying in His Word and surrounding ourselves in it.

God’s word is truth, and the truth isn’t always easy for us to listen to and or obey. Know this, it’s still the truth. And we can’t ignore the truth for long.

I’m thankful for today the day the Lord has made, my health that allows me to do what I do. For all God’s blessings. My family. Yesterday’s sermon and today’s readings. True Image Landscaping. Second chances. God’s grace and mercy.

Dear Lord God, Abba Father, thank You for today and all Your blessings. I want to grow in the likeness of Jesus. To be an example and light for each of mine to learn to want the same thing. So let’s abandon our “If I’s” and run toward “If Christ”.

But whoever did want him, who believed he was who he claimed and would do what he said, He made to be their true selves, their child-of-God selves.

Self-help is no help at all. Self-sacrifice is the way, my way, to saving yourself, your true self.

Jesus asked, Who do you say I am?

So don’t try to get out of anything prematurely. Let it do its work so you become mature and well-developed, not deficient in any way.
