My Daily Prayers and Readings for 1/05/2011
< >< My Prayer >< >
So many times as we feel Christ love for us, we fool ourselves into thinking the changes He has made in us are real and lasting as we have overcome ourselves; yet doubt remains and fear roams around us like a hungry wolf. But ‘There is no fear in love, perfect love drives out fear because fear has to do with punishment; so one who fears is not yet perfect in love.’ What does our love for Him lack? Why is there doubt, the doorway for fear to enter if, we love Him? After all He cries out to us “Take courage, it is I, do not be afraid!” Are we so different from the disciples who walked and lived with Him for three year; yet doubted and grew fearful whenever confronted with the storms of life under the sun. We must understand that ‘no matter what changes He has wrought in you, never rely upon them, build only on a Person, the Lord Jesus Christ, and on the Spirit He gives.’ He must be our moment by moment focus, and we must learn to know the voice of His Spirit within us!
Abba Father in the name of Christ Jesus who lives within me through the Holy Spirit I pray that You create in me a clean heart, and renew a right spirit within me, for my one walk in and with Jesus today. Asking that You bless me and mine in fulfillment of Your will and keep us from evil and pain; and if we get nothing else done this day, let us spend it loving You and others as You love us. In the name of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit, Amen.

THE AFTERWARDS OF THE LIFE OF POWER
“Whither I go, thou canst not follow Me now; but thou shalt follow Me afterwards.” John 13:36
“And when He had spoken this, He saith unto him, Follow Me.” Three years before, Jesus had said – “Follow Me,” and Peter had followed easily, the fascination of Jesus was upon him, he did not need the Holy Spirit to help him to do it. Then he came to the place where he denied Jesus, and his heart broke. Then he received the Holy Spirit, and now Jesus says again – “Follow Me.” There is no figure in front now saving the Lord Jesus Christ. The first “Follow Me” had nothing mystical in it, it was an external following; now it is a following in internal martyrdom (cf. John 21:18).
Between these times Peter had denied Jesus with oaths and curses, he had come to the end of himself and all his self-sufficiency, there was not one strand of himself he would ever rely upon again, and in his destitution he was in a fit condition to receive an impartation from the risen Lord. “He breathed on them, and saith unto them, Receive ye the Holy Ghost.” No matter what changes God has wrought in you, never rely upon them, build only on a Person, the Lord Jesus Christ, and on the Spirit He gives.
All our vows and resolutions end in denial because we have no power to carry them out. When we have come to the end of ourselves, not in imagination but really, we are able to receive the Holy Spirit. “Receive ye the Holy Ghost” – the idea is that of invasion. There is only one lodestar in the life now, the Lord Jesus Christ.

My Daily Prayers and Readings for 12/31/2010
< >< Happy New Year >< >
< >< My Prayer >< >
‘we have this treasure in jars of clay to show that this all-surpassing power is from God and not from us’ and we must walk as one with ‘the Holy Spirit, whom the Father has sent in Jesus’ name to teach us all things and will remind us of everything Jesus has said to us. For it is Peace that He leaves us; His peace that He gives us. He does not give to us as the world gives. So we ought not let our hearts be troubled and we should not be afraid’ of what the new year holds; but focus on being a channel for His peace and the treasure which God gives us to give to others!
Abba Father in the name of Christ Jesus who lives within me through the Holy Spirit I pray that You create in me a clean heart, and renew a right spirit within me, for my one walk in and with Jesus today. Asking that You bless me and mine in fulfillment of Your will and keep us from evil and pain. In the name of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit, Amen.

December – “For to us a child is born… And he will be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.” ISAIAH 9:6
Today – AS THIS YEAR DRAWS TO A CLOSE, receive My Peace. This is still your deepest need, and I, your Prince of Peace, long to pour Myself into your neediness. My abundance and your emptiness are a perfect match. I designed you to have no sufficiency of your own. I created you as a jar of clay, set apart for sacred use. I want you to be filled with My very Being, permeated through and through with Peace.
Thank Me for My peaceful Presence, regardless of your feelings. Whisper My Name in loving tenderness. My Peace, which lives continually in your spirit, will gradually work its way through your entire being.

My Daily Prayers and Readings for 12/30/2010
< >< My Prayer >< >
The Christmas and New Year for me are a time of cleansing and renewal; remembering ‘if anyone is in Christ, the new creation has come: The old has gone, the new is here!’ This means no matter what we must ‘love one another, for love comes from God. Everyone who loves has been born of God and knows God. Whoever does not love does not know God, because God is love.’ To love we must ‘remain in Him, as He also remains in us. No branch can bear fruit by itself; it must remain in the vine. Neither can you bear fruit unless you remain in Him.’ ‘ For we are God’s handiwork, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do.’ I pray and ask the me and mine would renew our commitment to seek Your face and do Your will in the new year to come; remembering no matter what good or bad we experience under the sun, in the Son there is peace, a peace that in is presence cannot be shaken by things under the sun, for He the Son as overcome the world under the sun. Walk as one in Jesus; walk one walk!

Today – I AM LEADING YOU along a way that is uniquely right for you. The closer to Me you grow, the more fully you become your true self—the one I designed you to be. Because you are one of a kind, the path you are traveling with Me diverges increasingly from that of other people. However, in My mysterious wisdom and ways, I enable you to follow this solitary path while staying in close contact with others. In fact, the more completely you devote yourself to Me, the more freely you can love people.
Marvel at the beauty of a life intertwined with My Presence. Rejoice as we journey together in intimate communion. Enjoy the adventure of finding yourself through losing yourself in Me.

My Daily Prayers and Readings for 12/07/2010
< >< My Prayer >< >
It takes many things to be able to stay focused on You in the midst to the busyness under the sun, thus we must practice, practice and practice; we must fight to stay conscious in the now of the moment and not let instinct or habits rule to moment, but grace and mercy through Jesus with an eye fixed on You and a heart likened to His!

Today – I AM WITH YOU IN ALL THAT YOU DO, even in the most menial task. I am always aware of you, concerned with every detail of your life. Nothing escapes My notice-—not even the number of hairs on your head. However, your awareness of My Presence falters and flickers; as a result, your life experience feels fragmented. When your focus is broad enough to include Me in your thoughts, you feel safe and complete. When your perception narrows so that problems or details fill your consciousness, you feel empty and incomplete.
Learn to look steadily at Me in all your moments and all your circumstances. Though the world is unstable and in flux, you can experience continuity through your uninterrupted awareness of My Presence. Fix your gaze on what is unseen, even as the visible world parades before your eyes.

My Daily Prayers and Readings for 12/04/2010
< >< My Prayer >< >
Another week as ended and another weekend begins; I take the same thoughts from the week into the weekend and all I can hope and pray is that like Martha I will choose the ‘better thing’!
I have made mine, my priority, putting them above everything but You, above myself – leading them to You, showing them You are at work in me, and hoping and praying they will see You in me, and realize I am truly in You, as they need to be in You. Yet I walk this tight rope between the busyness and ways under the sun and my desire for one walk with the Son hoping and praying that You will hear me and that Jesus will pray for me and mine; for there is so much we do not know or understand, and to walk by faith is the only way. Not relying on our strengths, but in our strength as in our weakness, seek Your face. In Thursday’s and Friday’s Today in the Word about freedom from regrets, You once again enlightened me by telling me how
‘Jesus wants to break us at the point of our strength.’ As with Peter whose great strength was his courage, ‘we are not broken before You until we are broken at the area of your strength and You desires brokenness in every part of our life.’ ‘Jesus understands me; He knows what I need so that I might give into Him.’
Abba Father in the name of Christ Jesus who lives within me through the Holy Spirit I pray that You create in me a clean heart, and renew a right spirit within me, so I may always give in to Jesus and truly walk as one with Him weekend. I ask that You bless me and mine indeed, in fulfillment of Your will and keep us from evil and pain. In the name of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit, Amen.
< >< Advent 2010 >< >
< >< Today’s Jesus Calling Daily Devotion >< >
December – “For to us a child is born… And he will be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.” ISAIAH 9:6
Today – MY THOUGHTS are not your thoughts; neither are your ways My ways. As the heavens are higher than the earth, so are My ways and thoughts higher than yours. Remember who I am when you spend time with Me. Marvel at the wonder of being able to commune with the King of the universe—any time, any place. Never take this amazing privilege for granted!
Though I am vastly higher and greater than you, I am training you to think My thoughts. As you spend time in My Presence, My thoughts gradually form in your mind. My Spirit is the Director of this process. Sometimes He brings Bible verses to mind. Sometimes He enables you to hear Me “speak” directly to you. These communications strengthen you and prepare you for whatever is before you on your life-path. Take time to listen to My voice. Through your sacrifice of precious time, I bless you far more than you dare to ask.

My Daily Prayers and Readings for 12/03/2010
< >< My Prayer >< >
I knew if I kept bringing it to You, You would work me through it and create in me a clean heart, and renew a right spirit within me, for my one walk in and with Jesus. I knew Jesus would help me. I knew I could not do it on my own for the battle between my will and Your will for me is only won when I stay open to You. If I hear, see and feel what others do and say from my perspective I am doomed by what I am under the sun, but if I seek Your face and just feel with a heart likened to Jesus’ I will overcome myself, by dying to self to server You and others, even the those that want me to bring or keep me under the sun, away from the Son. So I cry out…
Jesus help me!
Abba Father in the name of Christ Jesus who lives within me through the Holy Spirit I pray that You would indeed bless me and mine in fulfillment of Your will and keep us from evil and pain. Jesus help us! In the name of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit, Amen.

< >< Today’s Jesus Calling Daily Devotion >< >
December – “For to us a child is born… And he will be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.” ISAIAH 9:6
Today – Do NOT BE SURPRISED by the fiery attacks on your mind. When you struggle to find Me and to live in My Peace, don’t let discouragement set in. You are engaged in massive warfare, spiritually speaking. The evil one abhors your closeness to Me, and his demonic underlings are determined to destroy our intimacy. When you find yourself in the thick of battle, call upon My Name: “Jesus, help me!” At that instant, the battle becomes Mine; your role is simply to trust Me as I fight for you.
My Name, properly used, has unlimited Power to bless and protect. At the end of time, every knee will bow (in heaven, on earth, and under the earth), when My Name is proclaimed. People who have used “Jesus” as a shoddy swear word will fall down in terror on that awesome day. But all those who have drawn near Me through trustingly uttering My Name will be filled with inexpressible and glorious Joy. This is your great hope, as you await My return.

My Daily Prayers and Readings for 12/02/2010
< >< My Prayer >< >
Today I feel two themes from devotion, Gospel and Today in the Word; peace and regret. These two states or feelings seem in such contradiction to each other if not for Jesus, Whom through we will always find peace, even from the regrets we experience under the sun. The lesson for me is not about do’s and don’ts but simply one walk, to always walk as one with Jesus; feeling His constant presence, focusing on His teachings and Your will for us. Not the goals or dreams we develop for ourselves under the sun, which in themselves contain built in regret, but the simply purpose yet difficult process of following His will, even or especially when it is in conflict with what we have set or thought up for our self and knowing the feeling peace that we feel from doing Your will and being conscious of His presence. Keep conscious, hold me close, help know Thy will Lord.
< >< Advent 2010 >< >
< >< Today’s Jesus Calling Daily Devotion >< >
December – “For to us a child is born… And he will be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.” ISAIAH 9:6
Today – I AM THE PRINCE OF PEACE. As I said to My disciples, I say also to you: Peace be with you. Since I am your constant Companion, My Peace is steadfastly with you. When you keep your focus on Me, you experience both My Presence and My Peace. Worship Me as King of kings, Lord of lords, and Prince of Peace.
You need My Peace each moment to accomplish My purposes in your life. Sometimes you are tempted to take shortcuts, in order to reach your goal as quickly as possible. But if the shortcut requires turning your back on My peaceful Presence, you must choose the longer route. Walk with Me along paths of Peace; enjoy the journey in My Presence.
