My Daily Prayers and Readings for 05/24/2013

The eye is the lamp of the body. If your eyes are healthy, your whole body will be full of light. But if your eyes are unhealthy, your whole body will be full of darkness. If then the light within you is darkness, how great is that darkness!

Father, search me today, reveal the truth of my heart to me. Banish fear and pride. Replace falsehood with the light of Your truth, so that I can see clearly. Give me a single focus in life, to live as Jesus’ disciple. In His name I pray, Amen.1

They were on their way up to Jerusalem, with Jesus leading the way, and the disciples were astonished, while those who followed were afraid. Again he took the Twelve aside and told them what was going to happen to him.

Jesus, as I journey with You into the future, I don’t want to miss out on being where You are and being part of what You are doing, even when it’s hard and I don’t understand. I give today to You. Lead the way, so that I can follow. In the name of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit, Amen.

[ Life by the Spirit ] You, my brothers and sisters, were called to be free. But do not use your freedom to indulge the flesh; rather, serve one another humbly in love.

Abba Father through the Holy Spirit within me and in the name of Jesus Christ, I come to You so that You will create a pure heart, and renew a steadfast spirit within me. For my one walk in and with You today, as a channel of Your peace and love in all situations with all people. Free of judgement and full of forgiveness and love. Staying strong in You and Your almighty power.(r or l) Remembering that if I get nothing else done this day, let me spend it loving You and others first, as You love me. Praying in through the Spirit and in the name of Jesus on all occasions with all kinds of prayers and requests for me and mine in fulfillment of Your will. Being alert and always praying for those You place in my path. Asking that whenever I speak, words may be given to me, so that I will fearlessly make known the truth in the mystery of the gospel. In the name of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit, Amen.

“Do not let your hearts be troubled. You believe in God; believe also in me.

Abba Father through the Holy Spirit within me and in the name of Jesus Christ, I come to You with all that is on my mind, so that You will create a pure heart, and renew a steadfast spirit within me. Energizing and preparing me for my one walk in and with You today, as a channel of Your peace and love in all situations with all people. Free of judgement and full of forgiveness and love. Staying strong in You and Your almighty power.(r or l) Remembering that if I get nothing else done this day, let me spend it loving You and others first, as You love me. Praying in through the Spirit and in the name of Jesus on all occasions with all kinds of prayers and requests for me and mine in fulfillment of Your will. Being alert and always praying for those You place in my path. Asking that whenever I speak, words may be given to me, so that I will fearlessly make known the truth in the mystery of the gospel. Oh, how great are God’s riches and wisdom and knowledge! How impossible it is for us to understand his decisions and his ways!

For it is from here that I gain understanding and strength for my one walk in and with You today. As a channel of Your peace and love in all situations with all people. Free of judgement and full of forgiveness and love. Staying strong in You and Your almighty power.(r or l) Remembering that if I get nothing else done this day, let me spend it loving You and others first, as You love me. Praying in through the Spirit and in the name of Jesus on all occasions with all kinds of prayers and requests for me and mine in fulfillment of Your will. Abba Father we praise You that You—the God of love, power, and goodness— want to be a powerful presence in our relationships. When tests come, bind us together with love. When we are weak, be strong for us. Through the Holy Spirit within us and in the name of Jesus Christ, create a pure heart, and renew a steadfast spirit within us. Guide us on our one walk in and with You today, as channels of Your peace and love in all situations with all people. Free of judgement and full of forgiveness and love.
