Be reconciled to God.

My Daily Prayers and Readings for 01/13/2013

that God was reconciling the world to himself in Christ, not counting people’s sins against them. And he has committed to us the message of reconciliation. We are therefore Christ’s ambassadors, as though God were making his appeal through us. We implore you on Christ’s behalf: Be reconciled to God.

Abba Father I come to You through the Holy Spirit in the name of Jesus Christ who lives within me so that You will create in me a pure heart, and renew a steadfast spirit within me, for my one walk in and with You. Show me how to be a channel of Your peace and love in all situations with all people, no matter their intentions. Show me how to be strong in You and Your almighty power, putting on Your full armor by standing firm with the belt of Your truth buckled around my waist, with the breastplate of righteousness in place, and with my feet fitted with the readiness that comes from the gospel of peace, taking up the shield of faith, with which I can extinguish all the flaming arrows of the evil one who seeks only to separate me from You. Taking the helmet of salvation and the sword of the Spirit, which is Your word. And praying in the Spirit on all occasions with all kinds of prayers and requests for me and mine in fulfillment of Your will. With this in mind, being alert and always praying for those You place in my path. Asking that whenever I speak, words may be given me so that I will fearlessly make known the mystery of the gospel. (r or l) Remembering that if I get nothing else done this day, let me spend it loving You and others first, as You love me. In the name of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit, Amen.

My Daily Prayers and Readings for 01/12/2013

I thank my God every time I remember you. In all my prayers for all of you, I always pray with joy because of your partnership in the gospel from the first day until now, being confident of this, that he who began a good work in you will carry it on to completion until the day of Christ Jesus.

Abba Father thank You for the people who encourage me and partner with me to bring Your vision to reality. Thank You for being at work in them and in me to accomplish Your purposes. Help me to encourage others today, just as You encourage me.1 I come to You through the Holy Spirit in the name of Jesus Christ who lives within me so that You will create in me a pure heart, and renew a steadfast spirit within me, for my one walk in and with You. So that You will show and teach me how to be a channel of Your peace and love in all situations with all people. So that You will help me be strong in You and Your almighty power, putting on Your full armor by standing firm with the belt of Your truth buckled around my waist, with the breastplate of righteousness in place, and with my feet fitted with the readiness that comes from the gospel of peace, taking up the shield of faith, with which I can extinguish all the flaming arrows of the evil one who lurks in each moment waiting to separate me from You. Taking the helmet of salvation and the sword of the Spirit, which is Your word. And praying in the Spirit on all occasions with all kinds of prayers and requests for me and mine in fulfillment of Your will. With this in mind, being alert and always praying for those You place in my path. Asking that whenever I speak, words may be given me so that I will fearlessly make known the mystery of the gospel. My Daily Prayers and Readings for 01/11/2013

When hard pressed, I cried to the LORD; he brought me into a spacious place. The LORD is with me; I will not be afraid. What can mere mortals do to me?

Abba Father when hard pressed I cry out to You, for i know You are with me. When I doubt and become fearful, I catch myself and say – what can mere mortals do to me. Then I come to You through the Holy Spirit in the name of Jesus Christ who lives within me so that You will create in me a pure heart, and renew a steadfast spirit within me, for my one walk in and with You. So that You will help me be strong in You and Your almighty power, putting on Your full armor by standing firm with the belt of Your truth buckled around my waist, with the breastplate of righteousness in place, and with my feet fitted with the readiness that comes from the gospel of peace, taking up the shield of faith, with which I can extinguish all the flaming arrows of the evil one who only seeks to create doubt and fear within me to separate me from You. So I take the helmet of salvation and the sword of the Spirit, which is Your word. And pray in the Spirit on all occasions with all kinds of prayers and requests for me and mine in fulfillment of Your will. With this in mind, being alert and always praying for those You place in my path. Asking that whenever I speak, words may be given me so that I will fearlessly make known the mystery of the gospel. (r or l) And that You will show and teach me how to be a channel of Your peace and love in all situations with all people. Always remembering that if I get nothing else done this day, let me spend it loving You and others first, as You love me. In the name of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit, Amen.

My Daily Prayers and Readings for 01/10/2013

The Word became flesh and made his dwelling among us. We have seen his glory, the glory of the one and only Son, who came from the Father, full of grace and truth.

Lord Jesus, You have made the way for me to live intimately with the Father. Thank You that in You, I find the intimacy my soul desires. Thank You that I can listen to His thoughts in Scripture and talk with Him in prayer. Help me build closer relationships with brothers and sisters in Christ, as we share Your grace and truth with one another. I pray with deep gratitude for all You have done to make this possible. 1 Because of You I am able to come to the Father through the Holy Spirit in Your name knowing He will create in me a pure heart within me, and renew a steadfast spirit for my one walk in and with You today. So I put on the full armor of the Father by standing firm with the belt of Your truth buckled around my waist, with the breastplate of righteousness in place, and with my feet fitted with the readiness that comes from the gospel of peace, taking up the shield of faith, with which I can extinguish all the flaming arrows of the evil one. Taking the helmet of salvation and the sword of the Spirit, which is the Word. And praying in the Spirit on all occasions with all kinds of prayers and requests for me and mine in fulfillment of God’s will. With this in mind, being alert and always praying for those placed in my path. Asking that whenever I speak, words may be given me so that I will fearlessly make known the mystery of the gospel. (r or l) Remembering that if I get nothing else done this day, let me spend it loving You and others first, as You love me. In the name of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit, Amen.

[Treasures in Heaven] “Do not store up for yourselves treasures on earth, where moths and vermin destroy, and where thieves break in and steal. But store up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where moths and vermin do not destroy, and where thieves do not break in and steal. For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also.

Abba Father my heart is with You, but I need Your help and guidance under the sun. For my ability to discern and trust is flawed and on my own I have chosen poorly. So I come to You through the Holy Spirit in the name of Jesus Christ who lives within me so that You will create in me a pure heart, and renew a steadfast spirit within me, for my one walk in and with You. Help me to see and chose with eyes of faith, but wisely. Grant me the strength to be strong in You and Your almighty power, putting on Your full armor by standing firm with the belt of Your truth buckled around my waist, with the breastplate of righteousness in place, and with my feet fitted with the readiness that comes from the gospel of peace, taking up the shield of faith, with which I can extinguish all the flaming arrows of the evil one who lurks in each moment tempting me to make the wrong choice. Taking the helmet of salvation and the sword of the Spirit, which is Your word. And praying in the Spirit on all occasions with all kinds of prayers and requests for me and mine in fulfillment of Your will. With this in mind, being alert and always praying for those You place in my path. Asking that whenever I speak, words may be given me so that I will fearlessly make known the mystery of the gospel. (r or l) Remembering that if I get nothing else done this day, let me spend it loving You and others first, as You love me. In the name of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit, Amen.

My Daily Prayers and Readings for 01/07/2013

After Jesus was born in Bethlehem in Judea, during the time of King Herod, Magi from the east came to Jerusalem… On coming to the house, they saw the child with his mother Mary, and they bowed down and worshiped him. Then they opened their treasures and presented him with gifts of gold, frankincense and myrrh.

Abba Father ‘it’s not enough to just revisit the birth of Christ once a year though. We must take on the role of each character in the manger scene and live what their example has taught us. We must have the integrity of Joseph, the obedience of Mary, the faith of the shepherds and the perseverance of the Magi. The only way we can have that kind of integrity, obedience, faith and perseverance is to allow the love of Jesus Christ to be born in us. Then, like Joseph, we will make right choices; like Mary, we will fulfill God’s purpose for our lives; like the shepherds, we will live out our faith; like the Magi, we will lead others to the heart of Jesus.’ With this in mind I come to You through the Holy Spirit in the name of Jesus Christ who lives within me so that You will create in me a pure heart, and renew a steadfast spirit within me, for my one walk in and with You. So that You will show and teach me how to be a channel of Your peace and love in all situations with all people.
