“Whoever wishes to be first among you shall be your slave; just as the Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve”

Abba Father today’s verse contrast the simple to understand, but difficult to walk difference between the ways under the r or l) Remembering that if I get nothing else done this day, I need to spend it loving You and others first, as You love me. Praying with ceasing for me and mine in fulfillment of Your will and for those You place in my path. Asking that whenever I speak, words may be given to me, so that I will fearlessly make known the truth in the mystery of the gospel – one walk. In the name of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit, Amen.

He chose to give us birth through the word of truth, that we might be a kind of firstfruits of all he created.

Jesus, Living Word, thank You for opening my heart to hear and receive Your word of truth. Thank You for creating me anew to live and move in the realm of God’s spirit, and to be part of the new work You are doing in the world. May I serve Your purposes today. Create a pure heart, and renew a steadfast spirit within me. Free of judgement and full of forgiveness and love. For my one walk in and with You today, as a channel of Your peace and love in all situations with all people. Staying strong in You and Your almighty power. (r or l) Remembering that if I get nothing else done this day, let me spend it loving You and others first, as You love me. Praying in the now of every moment through the Spirit for me and mine in fulfillment of Your will and for those You place in my path. Asking that whenever I speak, words may be given to me, so that I will fearlessly make known the truth in the mystery of the gospel – one walk. In the name of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit, Amen.

My Daily Prayers and Readings for 08/24/2013

Therefore if there is any encouragement in Christ, if there is any consolation of love, if there is any fellowship of the Spirit, if any affection and compassion, make my joy complete by being of the same mind, maintaining the same love, united in spirit, intent on one purpose. Do nothing from selfishness or empty conceit, but with humility of mind regard one another as more important than yourselves; do not merely look out for your own personal interests, but also for the interests of others. Have this attitude in yourselves which was also in Christ Jesus, who, although He existed in the form of God,did not regard equality with God a thing to be grasped, but emptied Himself, taking the form of a bond-servant, and being made in the likeness of men.

Lord Jesus through the Holy Spirit within me, I come to You so that You will create a pure heart, and renew a steadfast spirit within me. For my one walk in and with You today, prepared to challenge our culture’s idea of power by accepting the humble position of servant. Following Your example1 by being a channel of Your peace and love in all situations with all people. Free of judgement and full of forgiveness and love. Strong in You and Your almighty power. (r or l) Praying through the Spirit on all occasions for me and mine in fulfillment of Your will. Being alert to pray for those You place in my path. I have brought you glory on earth by completing the work you gave me to do.

Holy Spirit, help me to evaluate my leadership as Jesus did, and to be more concerned with how I influence others than I am with worldly success. Show me where You want to redirect me. May others be more fulfilled because of my influence in their lives. Most of all, I want to be found faithful to Your call. 1 Create a pure heart, and renew a steadfast spirit within me. Keep me free of judgement and full of forgiveness and love. Staying alert and always praying for those You place in my path. So that whenever I speak, words may be given to me, so that I will fearlessly make known the truth in the mystery of the gospel. In the name of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit, Amen.

The tongue of the wise makes knowledge appealing, but the mouth of a fool belches out foolishness.

Lord God, my source of source, You are a master wordsmith, speaker, and teacher. I ask that You would anoint my words with Your Spirit. May my words be backed up by my life, so that they ring true and appeal to others. May they reveal wisdom, not foolishness. May they bring life and insight to others. 1 Keep my mind and heart pure in thought, and give me a steadfast spirit. Free of judgement and full of forgiveness and love. Strong in You and Your almighty power.(r or l) Remembering that if I get nothing else done this day, let me spend it loving You and others first, as You love me. Praying in through the Spirit and in the name of Jesus on all occasions with all kinds of prayers and requests for me and mine in fulfillment of Your will. Now, Israel, hear the decrees and laws I am about to teach you. Follow them so that you may live and may go in and take possession of the land the LORD, the God of your ancestors, is giving you.

Lord God, You know where I am tempted to substitute worldly goals and leadership principles for serving and partnering with You. Clear my vision, and refresh my perspective through Your Word and Your Spirit. I want to follow You and live and realize all that You have in mind. In Jesus’ name I pray, amen.1

My Daily Prayers and Readings for 01/31/2013

Get up, and take the child and his mother to Israel, for those who were trying to take the child’s life are now dead.

< >< My Prayer >< >

Abba Father to trust like Joseph.1 What would that feel like. I come to You through the Holy Spirit in the name of Jesus Christ who lives within me so that You will create in me a pure heart, and renew a steadfast spirit within me. The place where I trust must, untainted by doubt and the busyness of the world under that sun. Where I feel the closest to You, and begin my one walk in and with You. From where I hope to be a channel of Your peace and love in all situations with all people. From where I rise and stand strong in You and Your almighty power, putting on Your full armor by standing firm with the belt of Your truth buckled around my waist, with the breastplate of righteousness in place, and with my feet fitted with the readiness that comes from the gospel of peace, taking up the shield of faith, with which I can extinguish all the flaming arrows of the evil one who lurks in each moment waiting to separate me from You through doubt and distractions. Taking the helmet of salvation and the sword of the Spirit, which is Your word. And praying in the Spirit on all occasions with all kinds of prayers and requests for me and mine in fulfillment of Your will. With this in mind, being alert and always praying for those You place in my path. Asking that whenever I speak, words may be given me so that I will fearlessly make known the mystery of the gospel.(r or l) Remembering that if I get nothing else done this day, let me spend it loving You and others first, as You love me. In the name of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit, Amen.
