One Walk

Walking with Jesus

OneWalk: Under the Sun, with the Son

Today’s Thought, Bible Verse & Reading, Devotion, Worship Song and Prayer

A thought…
I am always pleasantly surprised how God puts the right devotion, verse, reading, or song before me.

A verse…

He looked around at them angrily and was deeply saddened by their hard hearts. Then he said to the man, “Hold out your hand.” So the man held out his hand, and it was restored! Mark 3:5

A devotion…
Embracing Emotions
Love Language Minute Devotonal
https://tecartabible.com/603.html#Share-volume=2001;resid=17

God gave us emotions for growth, maturity, fulfillment, and enjoyment. Feelings were made to be our friends, and they can serve as important signals. When we experience a negative emotion, it tells us that something needs attention.

A prayer…
Dear Lord God, Abba Father, Jesus my Savior. Thank you for emotions. You have made us in your image as emotional beings. Help me to look at my feelings as a gift. Please give me the wisdom to see the problem behind the emotion and deal with it before my strong feelings hurt and cause pain. Amen

Today’s prayer from today’s devotion.

Walking with Jesus

OneWalk: Under the Sun, with the Son

Today’s Thought, Bible Verse & Reading, Devotion, Worship Song and Prayer

A thought…
Déjà vu? No it’s you. When you keep finding yourself in the same situation. It’s time to search out and examine the evidence and to see what is clearly wrong.

A verse…

“Consider it pure joy, my brothers and sisters, whenever you face trials of many kinds, because you know that the testing of your faith produces perseverance. Let perseverance finish its work so that you may be mature and complete, not lacking anything.”
James 1:2-4 NIV

A devotion or two…
When We’re Stuck In a Mess
CrossCards: Encouragement for Today – August 23, 2018
https://www.crosscards.com/devotionals/encouragement-for-today/encouragement-for-today-august-23-2018.html

We replace our old thoughts with empowering truths from God’s Word, “Go-To Scripts”.

1. I was made for more than to be stuck in a vicious cycle of defeat.

‘You have been wandering around in this hill country long enough; turn to the north. Deuteronomy 2:3

2. When tempted, I either remove the temptation or remove myself from the situation.

The temptations in your life are no different from what others experience. And God is faithful. He will not allow the temptation to be more than you can stand. When you are tempted, he will show you a way out so that you can endure. So, my dear friends, flee from the worship of idols. 1 Corinthians 10:13-14

3. I don’t have to worry about letting God down because I was never holding Him up — God’s grace is sufficient.

Each time he said, “My grace is all you need. My power works best in weakness.” So now I am glad to boast about my weaknesses, so that the power of Christ can work through me. 10 That’s why I take pleasure in my weaknesses, and in the insults, hardships, persecutions, and troubles that I suffer for Christ. For when I am weak, then I am strong. 2 Corinthians 12:9-11

Walking with Jesus

OneWalk: Under the Sun, with the Son

Today’s Thought, Bible Verse & Reading, Devotion, Worship Song and Prayer

A thought…
Give me a break God. Is an expression I find myself saying out loud when I feel I have backed myself into a corner. By over committing, procrastinating to much, or just worn out by the mundane routines of my life under the sun. Just as often I follow it with thank You Jesus.

Walking with Jesus

OneWalk: Under the Sun, with the Son

Today’s Thought, Worship Song and Prayer

A thought…
Surround yourself with the Lord. It’s about a relationship with Him. Pray without ceasing, read and or listen to the Bible regularly, read a Daily Devotion, study your faith and apologetics, listen to music that praises and worships Him, like today’s song.

Iron sharpens iron.

A song… my latest favorite!

Only Jesus
Casting Crowns
https://itunes.apple.com/us/album/only-jesus/1420616701?i=1420617207

Make it count, leave a mark, build a name for yourself
Dream your dreams, chase your heart, above all else
Make a name the world remembers
But all an empty world can sell is empty dreams
I got lost in the light but it was up to me
To make a name the world remembers
But Jesus is the only name to remember

And I, I don’t want to leave a legacy
I don’t care if they remember me
Only Jesus
And I, I’ve only got one life to live
I’ll let every second point to Him
Only Jesus

All the kingdoms built, all the trophies won
Will crumble into dust when it’s said and done
‘Cause all that really matters
Did I live the truth to the ones I love
Was my life the proof that there is only One
Whose name will last forever

And I, I don’t want to leave a legacy
I don’t care if they remember me
Only Jesus
And I, I’ve only got one life to live
I’ll let every second point to Him
Only Jesus

Jesus is the only name
Jesus is the only name
Jesus is the only name to remember
Jesus is the only name
Jesus is the only name
Jesus is the only name to remember

And I, I don’t want to leave a legacy
I don’t care if they remember me
Only Jesus
And I, I’ve only got one life to live
I’ll let every second point to Him
Only Jesus

I don’t want to leave a legacy
I don’t care if they remember me
Only Jesus

The Ministry of the Unnoticed
My Utmost for His Highest
https://utmost.org/the-ministry-of-the-unnoticed/

…Conscious influence is prideful and unchristian. If I wonder if I am being of any use to God, I instantly lose the beauty and the freshness of the touch of the Lord…

…In the Christian life, godly influence is never conscious of itself. If we are conscious of our influence, it ceases to have the genuine loveliness which is characteristic of the touch of Jesus. We always know when Jesus is at work because He produces in the commonplace something that is inspiring.

Walking with Jesus

OneWalk: Under the Sun, with the Son

Today’s Thought, Bible Verse & Reading, Devotion, Worship Song and Prayer

A thought…
The best way to know yourself is to get to know Jesus. Open your heart, mind and spirit to Him. Turn to Him in good times and bad times. Never let anything or anyone come between you and Him. Keep your focus on Him.

A verse…

Then Jesus said, "Come to me, all of you who are weary and carry heavy burdens, and I will give you rest.
Matthew 11:28 NLT

A reading…
Matthew 11:25,27-30 NLT
[25] At that time Jesus prayed this prayer: "O Father, Lord of heaven and earth, thank you for hiding these things from those who think themselves wise and clever, and for revealing them to the childlike. [27] "My Father has entrusted everything to me. No one truly knows the Son except the Father, and no one truly knows the Father except the Son and those to whom the Son chooses to reveal him." [28] Then Jesus said, "Come to me, all of you who are weary and carry heavy burdens, and I will give you rest. [29] Take my yoke upon you. Let me teach you, because I am humble and gentle at heart, and you will find rest for your souls. [30] For my yoke is easy to bear, and the burden I give you is light."

A devotion or two…
Self-Awareness
My Utmost for His Highest
https://utmost.org/self-awareness/

Never allow anything that divides or destroys the oneness of your life with Christ to remain in your life without facing it. Beware of allowing the influence of your friends or your circumstances to divide your life.

< ><

Christ-Awareness
My Utmost for His Highest

Whenever anything begins to disintegrate your life with Jesus Christ, turn to Him at once, asking Him to re-establish your rest. Never allow anything to remain in your life that is causing the unrest.
