OneWalk: Under the Sun, with the Son
A letter to Mom (Abuelita), Today’s Bible Verse, and Worship Song
Dear Mom
It’s your first Mother’s Day in heaven, and I miss you. As I am sure my brother and sisters will too. While everyone says I was your favorite, I know I was the one, that saw and talked you the least, and probably hurt you the most.
Thanks to Jesus and all your prayers I know just how unconditional your love was, and how quickly and easily you forgave me. So that doesn’t bother me as much as being thought of as your favorite did. Not that I didn’t want as much of your love as I could get. God and you know I needed it, but because of how I felt, it made my brother and sisters feel, in a way less loved. That always hurt me the most. It was the same with Dad.
You see, as much as you loved me unconditionally and I you. I love them unconditionally. Knowing I have hurt and let them down by not being there for them either. So I hope and pray that like with our relationship. The closer I keep getting to my Lord Jesus Christ, the closer we will get, as I feel we got. It’s like we were closer as brother and sister in Jesus Christ, than as mother and son. When I think about it, like I will today often. I know that’s because as mother and son, under the sun. We were limited by our human experiences, and what those experiences had turned us into without Jesus. But as brother and sister in Jesus, we were freed from our human experiences. Seeing each other through His eyes, and with His heart, as He created us to be.
Maybe that’s why if those closest relationships under the sun; mother and child, husband and wife, brother and sister are not in Jesus. There will always be limited by the human experiences of hurt and pain we cause each other. Only in Jesus are we be freed and healed, and can we see each other as He created us to be.
You know, I started my daily prayers blog post again. This time I spend alone with Jesus, helps me feel closer to Him and mine. I feel for those moments with Him, I see the world with His eyes and feel with His heart. As He created it to be.
